Books based on Blizzard games

Specifically the Starcraft and Diablo books, has anyone here read them and if so are they any good? Getting pressured to decide on a wishlist and have been interested in these books for some time. But they go up against a kitchen assistant right now!

Have the starcraft books - They're not high literature in any sense, but if you like the Starcraftverse and war-story-lit, they make for a relaxing travel read with good distopic-political atmosphere.

The Knaak diablo books I haven't read, but a friend says it's the best game-based he's read but not that dialo-lore centered.

Lord of the Clans was quite good.

There's generally better literature out there than the Warcraft books, but they're good for an airplane ride.

Stay away from Day of the Dragon, though.

I read most of the Diablo books. They are not that bad, but they could be a little more interesting, aye.

What Xigo said. Day of the Dragon was the worst.

Lord of the Clans and Rise of the Horde by Christie Golden are good. As said before some of the books by Knaack are good, I personally stopped reading his stuff after he wrote in Warcraft's time-travelling God-King-Archmage Rhonin.

The only one tied to Warcraft I have considered reading is Rise of the Horde due to its mention of draenei. Got no real interest in the others, considered Day of the Dragon for Irdi but it is not big enough of a reason to bother.

Read about one of the Starcraft books and feel in love with the plot or at least what you could read about it on the back - renegade dark archon!
The Diablo books has always been of interest seeing as I love that universe. In what way are they not lore-centered according to your mate, DaveM? And are you saying they are Twilight-Harry Potter-caliber, Rensin?

And yeah, I am a sucker for books set in worlds that exist outside of the book too, like Warhammer and such.

I prefer Christie Golden over Knaak, personally. Really enjoyed Arthas' story.
Active Characters:
Velennia - Anchorite. Has a strange liking for tea.
Vynthia Blackfire - Magistrix. Craves sightseeing.
Vanessa Briarthorn - Seemingly timid housewife. Enjoys painting.

Try to never just say, "My character isn't interested in that adventure." A lot of people mistake this for good roleplaying, because you are asserting your character's personality. Wrong. Good roleplaying should never bring the game to a screeching halt. One of your jobs as a player is to come up with a reason why your character would be interested in a plot. After all, your personality is entirely in your hands, not the DM's. Come up with a reason why the adventure (or the reward) might appeal to you, no matter how esoteric or roundabout the reasoning. -(Source)

Golden is a good author, she's got a fun to follow writing style. Knaak's books can be interesting but his style is harder to lose yourself in, in my opinion.

The two Aaron Rosenberg books were good too, especially if you haven't played Wc2 in a while (or at all, kiddos.)

Spoiler:
That and Golden kills Rhonin off. Hero for life.
