Doran Eranu'belore [Rewrite][Blood Elf Battlewarlock]
#1
Retconning Doran's death and doing some minor changes to his history and personality for Cataclysm. Gonna do this rehaul early and put it into effect soon. Changes will be in purple.

Player: SachikoMaeda

Character Full Name: Doran Lilivei Eranu'belore

Character In-Game Name: Doran

Nickname(s): Miss, That-guy-with-the-thighs, Loverboy, Put-on-some-pants

Association(s): Horde, Silvermoon, Mercy

Race: Blood Elf

Class: Uncorrupt Warlock

Skills and Abilities: Tailor's Experience: He has spent years tailoring and requires no measurements when working. He can take measurements by eye with great accuracy.

Trained in Technicolor: He has studied fire magics under Aydendril, learning how to manipulate the color of his fire. It has no affects on the power of the spells and is purely aesthetic.

Darts for Thought: Moderate studies in arcane Shadow under Elend has given him control over his Shadowbolts and better manipulation over its shape. He has taken a preference to use a dart formation on his bolt for greater accuracy.

Fel Control: Teachings from Urameil has greatly improved his uses of fel. His healthstones are more potent and his control over demons has improved. He's learned to sense the faintest amount of fel when alone in the wilderness to try and use it to his advantage. Regardless, his strong will has kept him from falling to corruption.

Battle Warlock: Having swayed away from studying exclusively in demonology, he has studied at least a small amount in the different ways of warlockery. He uses his minor sword training and his handful of spells together to defend himself if push comes to shove. He wears a few pieces of thin plate to protect his sword-bearing arm and a few vital areas in order to focus less on defensive spells and more on offensive tactics.

Nightmare Affliction: While studying Shadow from Elend, Doran listened to stories from Ralerian and Aendron on the workings of the mind. From these stories he has learned how to inflict fear inducing curses with more potency.

Family Support: His morale boosts when in the presence of Keyus, Ralerian, Zalyen, Iverali, or Arilyn. If in a fight, he is more confident in his abilities simply so he can prove his worth. If Keyus leaves or his attention is taken by Aydendril, Doran's morale will take a nosedive. His fighting will become much sloppier and will become more prone to failure.

Bastard Eranu'belore: While not always part of his family, what time Doran has spent with his kin has been spent learning. He has access to spells created by those within his household and close friends of the house that share his base class of warlock. This includes, but is not limited to:

Elend's Curse of Blindness: Blinds target for a short duration using shadow magic.

Curse of Narcolepsy: Causes the target to fall asleep for a short duration, and remain asleep until something wakes them.

Curse of Gargalesis: Tickles the target into a fit of violent laughter. Channeled.

Aydendril's Curse of the Endless Prison: On touch, this curse will make the target blind, deaf, numb and mute. It lasts until the grasp is broken. No other spells may be cast while this curse is active, and it affects both the caster and the target. Requires player consent.

Alorel's Event Horizon: A wave of Shadow that distorts the feeling of the gravitational pull, creating a false increase of the weight about them to make moving increasingly difficult. The affects of the Shadow are similar to that of a Curse of Weakness.

Age: 74

Sex: Male. Right? Yeah, he's a male. You can check if you'd like.

Hair: Platinum blonde and always well kept. It's straight and clean no matter what.

Eyes: Bright fel green

Weight: 119lbs

Height: 5'9"

Appearance:
At first glance, Doran is easily mistaken for a woman. He is a small person and obviously still has plenty of growing to do. He has a scar running along the base of his neck from wearing an improperly fit collar for almost a whole year. His outfits are always unique, having made them himself. All of his scars remain hidden regardless of outfit. Along his torso is a set of inscription-esque tattoos in a dark purple ink. In time the tattoos were expanded and are now visible across his upper arms as well as his right leg. Common occurrences in armor patterns come with his sword-bearing arm being heavily armored in comparison to his spell-casting arm. He wears sharpened armor on the fingers of his spell-casting arm as a defense in case he is silenced.

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Personality: A generally kind and sweet individual, Doran will go to any length to defend his friends. He is a headstrong individual and hardly backs down when others are challenged. Over time he has grown rather standoffish of newer people and boasts a wall of uncaring to those he meets. He is slow to trust others and far from the gullible individual he once was. Having taken the time to properly educate himself, he has learned more of the world around him and has dropped most of his child-like naive tendencies.

He has an incredibly strong will and gains his confidence from those around him.
His determination to have Keyus's and Aydendril's approval and respect has been one of his primary drives to continue on no matter how difficult the challenge. He has been told repeatedly the dangers of fel and the corruption that comes with it. He refuses to fall to the corruption to prove his strength as best he can.

History:

Doran was born within the city of Silvermoon, his mother passing only hours after his birth due to complications. In his young years he was left in the care of his older brother and his father. It wasn't until about his seventh birthday his father disappeared, leaving him and his brother alone. His brother found a job outside the city and spent a majority of his time trying to provide for himself and the younger. Doran spent his time on the streets, away from his home and usually begging for extra money from anyone who happened to pass by. Years passed and he felt some sort of normalcy return to his life until the day his brother passed in a construction accident.

It took him a few weeks to get used to living on his own. After five years, he began feeling the want to join the high-class society, admiring their clothing and graceful appearance. He took what coins he earned through begging, he went to the tailor to buy his first bolt of fabric, a needle, and some thread to begin teaching himself how to sew. He worked for hours to get every stitch perfect, wanting to get as good as he possibly could. When he would return to the tailor for supplies, he would bring extra money with him to buy an hour of training.

He sold his first piece of clothing at age twelve after two years of constant practice for ten bronze. Feeling accomplished, he bought more fabric to continue making and selling clothes. While working with linen, he practiced the basics of embroidery. He would find himself embroidering whenever he had free time. It took him a few years before he made a name for himself as a tailor. When he turned twenty five, he took to traveling along the Eastern Kingdoms to sell his clothing. When the Second War came around, he returned to Silvermoon to aid the war effort with his tailoring. He spent time patching uniforms and fixing clothes for the soldiers. He stayed in the city throughout the war, delighted and inspired by the stories he heard each day. When the war ended, he returned to his travels throughout Eversong.

When news of the Scourge invasion came to him he took to hiding in the woods. He watched from the treetops as the city was attacked, doing nothing to aid in defending his home. A horrible feeling nagged at him as he went through the woods. The withdrawals were almost too much for him to bear. He came across a warlock in his travels that had recently returned from the Outlands. It didn't take long for him to give in to the fel the warlock had with him . Interested with the magic that had aided him, he wanted to know more of what the warlock had done. He did not dare delve too far into the arts and only learned the basics. He knew enough to boost his confidence to travel further along the continent. After a few years, his travels landed him in Stranglethorn Vale. It would be a trip to change his life.

He managed to get lost in the jungle, making him an easy target for a trollish slaver. With his freedoms taken from him, he was sold to a Death Knight named Keyus. He was forced into a life that made him uncomfortable, but in time he came to enjoy the company he had ended up in. Aydendril had become like an older brother to him, and Arilyn like a mother. He made and lost friends during his ventures, shaping him into the person he is now. His knowledge in his arts expanded as he learned from the people he had met, primarily Aydendril, Elend, and Urameil, each offering him insight to the different branches of the demonic arts. During his early time studying, however, he was primarily a demonologist studying under Urameil.

During his travels he decided to look further into his heritage. It did not take long for him to be reunited with his father, Iverynalian Eranu'belore, and to study further into what his family had to offer. He became much closer to those he had come to fear over time, now regarding many of his family as respectable individuals rather than those to be feared. During Keyus's absence, Doran spent months living with his kin and learning what he could from them, strengthening his bond with his family.

I don't mind the custom spells myself, they seem to be fitting the nature of Warlock curses (disabling and whatnot) and just seem to give a different edge in a fight rather than being direct upgrades to existing spells. I'll toss this an initial so I can get a second opinion just to be safe!

Initial approval!

Keep in mind that we allow casters to have minor reinforcements for their normal cloth wear. However, recalling the drawings done of Doran with this armor, it seems more like an armored section than it is minor reinforcement. Reason I point this out is because to me, this doesn't fall in with the mentioned minor reinforcement, however everyone sort of has a different take on when the 'line' is crossed.

[Currently discussing this with others as well as looking at some ingame robes!]

Th current drawing I have on his wiki page is out of date. Currently his armor is limited to his left arm and groin.

Current IC configuration without any stylistic crystal additions (low quality because phone upload) :

I sent you a high res version of the sheet over Skype! His armor design is based of the.... Spellweave Robes if I remember correctly.
