Mo'nash Songkeeper (Orc Songkeeper)
#1
Information

Player: Therew

Name: Mo’nash Songkeeper

Character In-Game Name: Monash

Class: Orc Historian (Hunter)

Race: Orc

Profession(s): Songkeeper/ Orc Historian

Age: 25

Weight: 300 pounds

Height: 6’5”

Eye color: Amber

Hair color: brown

Hairstyle: well-kept braids.

Appearance: Mo’nash has nothing special going for him in regards to his appearance. Now 25 he is at the prime of orc adulthood, his travels and survival skills in the wilds while he travels has him fit and healthy but he lacks the mass some orcs have. His hair is well kept but if there’s anything that screams from his appearance it is that it’s average.

Personality
As far as orc’s go, Mo’nash is a book worm. He doesn’t care much for hunting some honored prey or winning some important battle. Mo’nash passion is history and the knowledge that can come from it. Even though he doesn’t care much for many things, he is often intrigued as to why. Why are some beast honored when others are not, why and how did orcs come to live in Durotar, why was it named that way? These are the questions that get Mo’nash talking and once he’s talking on such subjects it is hard to get him to shut up. There nothing he enjoys more than a good camp fire, good drinks and a better story.

He takes a great pride in his knowledge of orcish history and he hopes to be remembered for that knowledge and to pass it down so that other orcs may share the pride that he has in their culture and history. But nothing sparks a fire in him stronger than learning a new Lok’vadnod. To Mo’nash these songs are a tradition that should be cherished above all else. He is willing to travel many miles at the rumor of one of these songs being written. He wastes no time committing new songs to memory and teaching the songs he knows to those who want to learn them as well.

History
Born during the Second Great War with the alliance Mo’nash’s family was captured by the alliance and grew up a slave to humans with a great many of his people. His mother fell to an illness before Mo’nash could learn her face and only knew his father while under the relative care of the humans. During this time Mo’nash only found comfort in the songs his father sang regularly. These songs being Lok’vadnods, his father sang them regularly to keep his own spirits up and Mo’nash found comfort in them as well so they would sing together when they could. It was a miserable existence but at least they had that much.

Mo’nash father did his best to make sure that Mo’nash knew that the orcs were not always like this, they had a proud history, were a proud people and one day they would overcome that as well. Mo’nash believed every word in his young age, the songs gave him strength to endure what his people where going through, though his naïve young age was likely a huge help as well.

Soon after Mo’nash turned 13, Thrall came for his people and freed them from the internment camps. In their escape Mo’nash saw a side of his father that he could never have imagined. The old orc strapped a blade to where his amputated right hand was and roared into battle with the vigor that matched the heroes in the Lok’vadnods he would sing. The stories and songs became more real to Mo’nash seeing that his people could be and were more than just slaves to the pink skinned lanky monsters that watched over them. He learned of new clans and their histories, what they had gone through while some of them were slaves. He learned of his own clan now divided the “Shattered Hand” clan and how they once mutilated their selves to show loyalty to their clan. A new life was breathed into Mo’nash when he gained freedom and with this freedom he was inspired to learn so much more about orcs.

Due to his age and lack of combat skill Mo’nash had little combat experience in the 3rd war. His job was mostly to assist in hunting; any combat came simply from running into other hunting parties or other such accidents. During this time he was able to interact with many clans and learn more songs from their clans and teach some of the ones his father had taught him. Even after the 3rd war winded to a close and the orcs started to settle into Durotar, Mo’nash kept this up. His travels continued going settlement to settlement learning and teaching more of orc history. During all this time he became known as Songkeeper.

As time progressed Mo’nash’s life has had little change. With the coming of the Burning Crusades he traveled to Outland and discovered the terrible fate of many orcs there. It was a real challenge learning songs of the corrupted clans but he did his best to take and salvage what history he could take from the place. Mostly from refugees he learned of the years Outland drifted separated from Azeroth. He played no role in the war against the lich king; instead he spent the years in Outland. He took part in helping orc clans restore themselves and teach many of the history that was made. Eventually he choose to return to Azeroth because the shamans are speaking of something terrible is going to happen there, and someone must be there to learn the songs that are written.

I'm simply curious as to your class title choice as Ranger, though ill-defined, strikes me as somewhat unrelated to his career path. Also you will want to include his in-game class in parenthesis unless policy has changed in recent days.

I think I am asked to space it out every time I make a new character. Really gotta start doing that. Lol. As for his class of Ranger, I'm not going to lie to you, I only gave him a class because I had to. His in game class is Hunter, which I often type as ranger when I don't intend to, but in all honestly the doesn't really have a class. Hes a historian that happens to know how to hunt and scavenge when out in the wilds. Hunter class fit best for the clothes he would wear and weapons he would use IC, I don't expect him to fire any magical arrows anytime soon.

Not much to say on the profile, other than it's nice to see another orc loreseeker besides my own. I'd like to RP sometime!

A note about the ranger thing. When we had prestige classes going, I believe elven ranger was one of them. That might be what Nikodemos is wondering about. What you can do is have a custom class like "storywhatever", something that fits him, but have hunter in parentheses.
