Time for an obligatory "Favorite-song-by-each-of-my-major-bands" post.
Rush - "Closer to the Heart"
Rush has always been one of my top 5 favorite bands, which is a stark change from the metal that usually dominates everything I listen to. What I love about Rush is Geddy Lee's great singing voice, and exceptional bass skills. When thrown in with Alex Lifeson's guitar skills and Niel Peart's exceptional drum solos, many complex musicals are written, which transcend decades to touch people even today. More good examples of awesome Rush songs are "2112", "Hemispheres", and "Limelight".
Megadeth - "Good Mourning/Black Friday"
This particular Megadeth song is very interesting. It starts off with a slow instrumental section, then hits into a solo, then goes into the beginning of Black Friday with the lyircs "Hey, I don't feel so good...Something's not right...Something's comin' over me....what the f*&# is this?!" Black Friday, in question, is about a possessed mass murderer and the deeds that he does ("Another bloody massacre, the murder's complete")
Megadeth in question is the second heavy metal band I got into, and the first thrash band. They remain one of my favorites, with other hits like "A Tout le Monde", "Hangar 18", and "Foreclosure of a Dream".
Anthrax - "Safe Home" (Ignore the video I have no idea what the creator was thinking)
Anthrax was the second thrash band I got into, and this song in question is the song I've listened to the most; with a whopping 606 listens (according to WinAMP) Other good Anthrax songs include "Madhouse", "The Enemy", and "Any Place but Here"
Dream Theater - "As I Am"
I've not been listening to Dream Theater for long. I like what I hear so far, John Petrucci is an amazing guitarist, though. Other good Dream Theater songs are "Pull Me Under", "Into the Dark Eternal Night", and "Forsaken".
Radiohead - "High and Dry"
Radiohead is an amazing alternative rock band. They were perhaps the third Alt-Rock band I got into. Other amazing songs include "Karma Police", "Paranoid Android" and "Street Spirit (Fade Out)"
Ozzy Osbourne - "Get Me Through"
Ozzy, although a bit crazy, is the heavy metal artist I listen to the most (right ahead of Iron Maiden and Lake of Tears, respectively). With good reason, as well. I love how his voice sounds in stark contrast with Zack Wylde's guitar playing. Other great songs include "Crazy Train", "You Can't Kill Rock and Roll", and "S.I.N."
Dead Kennedys - "Moon Over Marin"
Dead Kennedys are pretty much the only punk band I listen to regularly. Sure, everyone has the occasional dose of Ramones, Bad Brains and so forth, but the DKs are the only ones that manage to secure a spot of my playlist. Jello Biafra has a surprisingly good singing voice. Other awesome songs include "California Uber Alles", "Forest Fire", and "Kill the Poor".
Coheed & Cambria - "Ten Speed (Of God's Blood and Burial)
Coheed & Cambria are too awesome to be described by text. Other songs include "A Favorite House Atlantic", "Blood Red Summer", and "Three Evils (Embodied in Love and Shadow)".
Metallica - "Motorbreath"
Metallica was the third thrash band I got into, and they're probably the ones I play the most. Everything before the Black album was great. Other good songs are "Whiplash", "Dyers Eve", and "Ride the Lightning"
I really need to stop blogging every time I post.

Come on; come on; follow closely.
Come on; come on; dream of safety.
Come on; come on; where ya goin'?
Any place but here.
