Shumeri Spiritfire [Blood Elf Brewmaster]
#1
Player: Hexproof

Character Full Name: Shumeri Spiritfire

Character In-Game Name: Shumeri

Nickname(s): Shu

Association(s): Quel'thalas

Race: Blood Elf

Class: Warrior [Brewmaster]

Skills and Abilities:
- Enhanced Brews: Shumeri is skilled in the production, distillation, fermentation and all around creation of various brews and potions of an alchemical nature, whether it be in the form of their outright production, or enchantment. She's capable of producing the majority of potions that the Alchemy profession can create, in an alcoholic form.
-- Antimagic Brew: The pinnacle of her brewing ability comes in the form of the special concoction she's formulated based in her former skills as a Spellbreaker. She's long since forgotten or ultimately become unable to use most of her old repertoire, but she has managed to create a brew that acts as a localized anti-magic field. Generally speaking, it only works on the person imbibing it, effectively Silencing them, magically speaking, and drastically decreasing the potency of Arcane spells they're directly interacting with. (IE: A fireball or a curse would have less of an impact. Magical shields would be weaker against her attacks. Etc.) This brew doesn't last very long, and takes several weeks to create any meaningful amount of, but it is potent and does as one would expect.
- Drunken Boxing: While a formidable martial artist in her own right, Shumeri's foremost strength lies in her mastery of this particular "art form". She's adept at fighting while inebriated, able to adjust to the state and push forward despite her intoxication.

Age: 337

Sex: Female

Hair: Blonde, shoulder length but usually tied back.

Eyes: Fel-Green

Weight: 115 lbs

Height: 5' 9”

Usual Garments/Armor: Whatever she can scrape together. She prefers the sorts of garments that allow for a comfortable range of motion, and hasn't worn armor in almost a decade.

Personality: Shumeri is, to put it as she would put it if putting it that way didn't take so much effort, “a self-deterministic individual”. She goes out of her way to stress very little, and generally doesn't go out of her way to take up arms or offense over much of anything. An apt term would be “lazy” but given that that might be construed as offensive, one could argue she's very much a “bohemian” in the modern sense of the term.

History:
Shumeri's story is fairly straightforward. Her parents, both merchants, saw a lot of promise in their young daughter, and for a time she believed she was meant to trade and sell things. It was what people did. She just sort of went along with it for the time, but all in all she was already a century old before she really thought anything different might be for her. She was never one to be taken up by stories of heroics, or the power of the Light or magic in general. Still, she sought direction, which led her to joining the military one way or another.

During training, she ended up showing promise once again, this time as a possible candidate for becoming a Spellbreaker. Her direction was formalized, and the girl once more followed the path others had set for her, training and eventually becoming a Spellbreaker of modest skill and ability. It wasn't much different from before, really, except now she killed people occasionally and knew how to properly counterspell. Life went on. She didn't really have much more direction than before, but it did assist her sense of right and wrong. She fought those who broke the law, be they warlocks or rogue magi or the occasional Troll or even Human if the situation ever got bad enough. The Orcs came and two wars came and passed, and ultimately Shumeri still didn't know who she was. She had hobbies like Alchemy, but they didn't define her, didn't decide who she would be. It bothered her, this lack of direction. It was the only thing that really bothered her, though.

The Third War changed that. Shumeri learned very quickly that she was two things: More reliant on magic than she ever would have liked, and was willing to turn to Fel very quickly in the face of that sudden and massive amount of withdrawal. Still, she didn't like it. She didn't like that they were exchanging one addiction for another, or that they were siding with demons, or even that they were just so suddenly full of fury and hatred. So she took to the drink.

One could argue her drunken rant was entirely justified, and from a certain inebriated point of view, it was. One could also argue that her dishonorable discharge was also justified. She did not agree on that front, but her opinion didn't really mean much at that point. Silvermoon was rebuilding, and Shumeri took to alcohol like a fish takes to water. A very angry, very lost fish.

In time, she learned to brew on her own. It wasn't much different from her traditional Alchemy, and soon after that she'd taken up a fighting style to match her new outlook. It was a simple one, yes, but it was hers. She'd do what she pleased, plain and simple. If she wanted to trade, she would. If she wanted to fight, she would. If she wanted to sit around all day wasted off her keester, she'd do that too. Possibly at the same time as the other two, if she was feeling really ambitious. Life would go on, and Shumeri would wave politely at it as it passed and go her own way instead.
As someone wise once said, the important thing is never to be fearless or confident. Most people have more than enough trouble with both. The trick is to fake it, because if you learn to fake it properly, it's the same thing as actually having confidence.

The only way she could have martial arts training is from study with a Pandaren master. And they don't teach anyone until the events of Mists of Pandaria when they join the Alliance and Horde, which is how they get the Monk classes.

Pandaren are hardly the only martial artists on Azeroth. There're plenty of Brewmasters and just general unarmed fighters she could've learned from. In this case, her initial martial arts training came from her military service. The boxing came later, thanks to barfights and a bit of unlucky experimentation.

“Repitoire” should be “repertoire.” Other than that, how does this brew work? Does she need to make someone drink the brew, then they lose their magic, or does she like throw the brew onto the ground and it creates a small anti-magic field around her? I don't mean to be nitpicky but as a brew I wonder if it's supposed to be drank, and by who?

As far as the drunken boxing, I am not sure myself. Unarmed fighting doesn't sound like it's something out of reach for an Azerothian. I think it would be another thing if she was trying to copy the entire monk class as it exists in the next expansion.

Fixed the typo, clarified how the brew works (She's supposed to be the one who drinks it.) and dropped the drunken boxing from a full-on style to just "able to fight competently while drunk".
