If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? Why? What's there that draws you or that you want to see?

Additional Q!

Is there a place close to you that you're very fond of? Is your city or town swelltastic? What would you recommend doing?

There's a city in Uzbekistan known as Samarkand. It is debated to be the second oldest city in the world and is also dubbed "the crossroad of cultures" due to its position on the silk road. I'm a huge nerd when it comes to Middle-Eastern and Asian history, and this place is the richest of the rich when it comes to having an interesting history. There have been a number of times in its history when it was of the most powerful cities in that area of the world, and as a result it went though many cultural and religious changes. Most importantly, it has its own unique architectural style that I can only share by dumping some pics in a spoiler:

(warning: a lot of images. Some of them big.)

As for the second question, I live at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, so I've become quite fond of taking camping trips at many of the awesome parks in the area. It's an experience to be had during Autumn.
