I vote yes, but perhaps it is best to allow players to vote on a poll. Less self-done counting and more time spent in other productive schtuff.

(excuse my schemes; Sherlock Holmes does have that effect on me)
I vote yes as well, so there could you know, be PvP in a PvP zone, rather than being pelted to death by arrows.
I honestly disagree with that, kindle. RP'ing community and all that, not PvP. I think Rigley wanted to turn the NPCs Neutral for RP opportunities, no?
I am reasonably certain that Kindle means RP-PvP, something which has become quite the fad over recent months on CotH and something that being pelted to death by haxarrows naturally inhibits.

Alterac Valley is one of the coolest zones in the game - anything that lets us access more of it would be great.
RP-PvP? That would be incredible!
Heh, it didn't even occur to me it could even be interpreted like that. I've been on CoTH too long. But yeah, RP-PvP; what Sol said and stuff.

I'm contemplating removing he hostile NPCs in the Field of Strife, Alterac Valley. NPCs would still remain on either side as guards.

Y/N?
Dear god yes please do that so opposite factions can INTERACT in AV.
Alright, NPCs will be removed from the Field of Strife once I am able to hop over to there.

On a wholly unrelated note, there's a poll now. Tell me what you think.

In a new neutral area would you prefer there to be a guard presence for a safe zone, or none at all?
We needn't another Lawless Island, Rigley! Remember how that went?

Yes indeedy.

Let me give a rundown of my rationale with this poll:

--With Guards:
My fear is that guards may dissuade people from using the place for guild headquarters RP, even though the portion with NPCs would be -very- minimal in comparison. It's somewhat to the idea of "Hey, should we really be planning with all of those guys in our backyard?". Especially so in the case of undead guilds or villainous guilds, though the guards would be wholly neutral.

--Without Guards:
In this case I'm just fearful that people would be dissuaded to RP in the area out of fear of being jumped by people. Though with that in mind I also have to note that, once more, the safe zone is minimal-- which would raise the question as to if it would really matter in the long run.

It is somewhat difficult to give a full impression without showing or describing the build underway, but essentially the area is meant to have something of a lonely and abandoned feeling to it. I'm not certain if the presence of NPCs would spoil that, or add to it due to their lack of presence within the region proper.

Decisions, decisions. I suppose it could always be changed further down the line after launch.
I voted yes to guards. Tends to get abused otherwise.
Silvermoon City has been spruced up in Murder Row, The Bazaar, The Sunfury Spire, and a few minor additions in The Walk of Elders. A small open-air eatery is included over at the Bazaar, near the fountain.
To tack onto Rigley's posts, I've gone ahead and found some screenshots for your collective viewing pleasure.

Lor'themar is all the way up there? Now how am I supposed to casually talk to him? 8B
Is the set up of tables in the Sunfury Spire intended for things like inter-noble house councils and/or trials?

Awesome work as always. And now I imagine the blood elf rulers snarking like Statler and Waldorf while meetings go on.
