I am not using a shortcut, I didn't think it would make a difference.
Try using the patcher from this thread, second post. Although many folks have had no issues with downloading the client, updating the realmlist, and then playing, some have had to run the patcher first for some reason.

I've unpatched it and patched it, both times I still got the same exact error that is now going to haunt my dreams.
Try changing the realmlist addresses from logon.conquestofthehorde.com to coth.game-host.org

It's interesting that the connection immediately fails, based on the connection log. Try disabling your firewall.

It's not my firewall. I turned all of my anti-virus' and firewalls off, and even uninstalled one that wouldn't turn off.
Are you running the Wow application as an administrator?

Yes, I've connected to a retail server before.
Once I get home, I'll have to check and see if there's anything in my logs involving your IP address. Try pinging the login server from a command prompt and see what response you may get.

Thank you! I've done the ping check, and I've received and average of 100 ms from it... So it might be your side.
Well, I had checked before I left the house and there wasn't anything in the router logs regarding blocked connections. When you're pinging the server, does it resolve to a 72 address?
