Cedloth`s Introduction
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player.:
I played World of Warcraft from the release up until about a year ago, and I can honestly say I have never really roleplayed

I tried sometimes, but someone would always eventually ask, "You wanna run me through [insert instance name here] instead?" (Yeah maybe the Barrens wasn't a good place to find Rp :D), but I never really got a chance to Rp, it wasn't that much of a heart breaker, I wasn't really all that into it anyway. There was so much other stuff to do, raid, PvP, level your fifth alt...

Eventually I quit WoW ( my computer had horrible specs and crashed in every major city...) and instead I spent my time reading fantasy books (Lord of the Rings, a couple Forgotten Realms, etc...) I really liked the epic adventures, or even just the little quests the characters went through to advance the plot.

I got a semi-new computer not too long back and found myself returning to WoW via the free trial thing and I started try to roleplay, but the community there was horrible. Every five minutes you would have to add three new names to the ignore list.

As a person, I'm a huge sports fan, basketball in particular. I myself have tried to play before, but...well...let's just say it's easier to watch than do....

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?
I'm from the Western United States and my primary language is English, but I know some French. ( ...just a little...)

How did you get into Warcraft?:
My dad played the original game and I tried to play it, but I wasn't really all that into games during that time and to be honest it looked plain boring.

Warcraft 2 came out and I played it a little every now and then, but just to pass the time when I had nothing better to do.

Finally Warcraft 3 came out and it was a huge step up from the last two, so when World of Warcraft came out I figured it would be just as good if not better.

What made you seek our server over others?:
The Community, from what I've seen just the last few days from hanging around the forums this server has a great community and nowadays thats a hard thing to find.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
I really enjoy the fast paced-creativity of action/fighting roleplay, so long as it's fun isn't ruined by a completely stupid action.

Like this:

"Deao throws his body into the assassin's exposed chest and launches a quick kick to his abdomen."

"Eaal ducks out of the way of Deao's body (...what?) while thrusting his sword through Deao's back. (...wait..wait.wait..what happened to the kick and how did Deao suddenly end up with his back to a murderer?)

If it's something simple like a typo or you're really tired, I'll understand, but if it's a long paragraph with ton's of impossibilities and nonsense the experience is ruined.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
Originally my favorite race was the Forsaken, I really liked the idea of being a lone wolf that respects no one but his own kind and want's nothing more than to return to the life he once lived, but I came to the sad realization that no one wants to roleplay and if they do they don't want to roleplay with a rotting corpse....
(at least no one on retail, I have a feeling it'll be a different story here ;) )

Other than Forsaken I found myself really liking the idea of roleplaying as a Human. Maybe it was just from my time PvPing with one.

My Favorite class is definitely Rogue, for two reasons, One: endless possibilities, the Rogue can be anything from the loyal militia operative to the heartless assassin.
Two: Rogues rock...enough said....

I've also found myself enjoying the hunter class, because of their ability to form a bond with practically any animal and have a constant companion with them. That and I really like the fast paced bow-strumming action.

What are your expectations of this server?:
As of now I have none. I've never played on a private Rp server before, but I'm expecting a good time.
Better than the my couple Rp experiences on retail at least.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
Keyboard skills

Great patience isn't something that I inherited, I'm generally as patient as anybody else, but when it takes five minutes to respond to simple question or 'react' to my characters action in combat my patience is gone. I'm not mean about it and I won't really say anything, I just feel like it ruin the pace of the roleplay.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
The crunch of the snow followed by the utter quite of the night, save for the whistling wind, only added to the complete loneliness he felt. Time had blurred; days, weeks, months, they were all lost, buried somewhere in the snow. Correus could hardly believe how long ago it seemed he last felt the warmth and comfort of his own home.

He was among the group of fifty or so men, still alive, that had been called to investigate Scourge activities in the region of Dragonblight and after weeks of blood-freezing temperatures, never-ending winds, and the near constant danger of being torn apart by a Scourge ambush, should they be discovered, they had nothing to report, the way Correus preferred it.

He walked on, pushing his way through the snow drifts, every footstep putting him a little closer to camp.
In his younger days Correus would have welcomed the chance for a little excitement, anything to end the boredom, but now with so much at stake Correus was hardly as mischeivous as he had once been.

He had so much to live for. The beautiful sunrise and sensation of a warm ray of sun against his cheek, something that was so simple, yet something that perhaps every man in the encampment dearly longed for.

The springtime, the renewal of life, when trees and flowers blossomed bringing and end to the wintry chill, and Autumn and the curious colors of the Willow leaves before the subtle breeze lifted them from their perches and carried them to peacefully rest on the grass.

Then most tenderly he remembered his beautiful wife, Kerieana, and his heartache.
After two years of marriage he had been called to serve, but in the most harsh of places where there was no living, only surviving.

Kerieana had asked him not to go, but his sense of duty and loyalty to the Alliance had dismissed his wife's request as unwarranted. Now that he was in Dragonblight he realized the truth in her words and wanted nothing more than to return to her open arms, and the comfort of his life prior to the Scourge.

Correus approached the encampment gate and politely exchanged nods with the guards before marching through. The camp was rather unremarkable, tents were all pitched side by side with snow packed tightly around them for insulation and wood stacked outside each tent to keep the fires going, nothing that hinted that this was a military expedition, but then again living presence in Dragonblight wasn't exactly common.

"You 'ave a nice walk?" came the familiar voice.

Correus smiled at Airilon and sat down next to his friend,"Quiet and event less, the way things should be."

"Says you." chuckled Airilon reaching to warm his calloused hands by the fire.

Correus couldn't help but smile at his friend's brashness. Airilon was in no way a strong man, or even a clever one, but his courage and fiery behavior made up for what he lacked in strength and intellect, but his lack of common sense was bound to land him in trouble.

"Are you sure it would be wise to leave at such a crucial moment in our investigation?" Deroate stammered, he had almost erupted in rage when Eadilek revealed to him his intentions of dropping the investigation and returning the soldiers home, but it wasn't unexpected, for the last week the conditions among the troops had rapidly worsened.

Eadilek couldn't believe what he was hearing, "A crucial moment is it? Four months and not even so much as a ghoul has been seen, it is time we leave."

Eadilek could see the anger growing in Deroate but he held his ground against the glares.

"But you see Eadilek, it is not your investigation now is it?." Deroate replied.

" But they are my men. I promised them four months and then we would be gone from this hell. I plan on keeping my word whether you're with us or not."

"Mutiny is it? You plan to abandon me here in Dragonblight so that you can run to safety. How pathetic."

"This expedition has reached it's end Deroate." finished Eadilek.

He turned to leave knowing the consequences of crossing someone like Deroate, but he was willing to accept the them if it meant getting his men home.

"Eadilek."

Eadilek heard the venom in his voice and the whispering of incantations. His confident stride came to a stop and his legs were barely able to support his weight. He turned to face Deroate, his face revealing his inner fear.

"Catch."

Before Eadilek could register the movement a fireball consumed his body, splattering gore throughout the tent.

Deroate gently floated over the gore to the rapidly dying Eadilek, no longer a human, no longer even alive. No, Deroate had assumed his true form, that of a lich.

"You see, Eadilek, you and your soldiers will soon just be fodder for the Lich King's army."

Correus instinctively dove to the ground narrowly dodging a downward swiping Rune Blade. His attacker, a Death Knight, stood a full foot taller than him and wielded a blade triple the size of either of his own. Despite the disadvantage the ever intrepid Correus stood his ground.
The Death Knight shifted suddenly, stabbing for Correus's heart, hoping to force his way past his defenses and get the quick kill, but Correus worked the blade away from his body and forced himself within the knight's own defenses. With as much strength as his footing would give him Correus barreled into the knight's chest then brought his knee up high. The Death Knight fell to a knee off balance and could only watch as Correus's knee slammed into his face.

He took no time to savor his luck, instead he took the initiative and raised his sword high before mercilessly plunging it through the back of the incapacitated Death Knight's neck.

"Correus duck!" warned Airilon.

Correus dropped flat as a second Death Knight swiped at the air where he had stood a moment before. Correus quickly got to his feet and turned to run, but then as if some unseen force were drawing him to the Death Knight, Correus felt himself flying through the air towards his waiting grasp.

Airilon barreled into the Death Knight throwing them both to the ground in a heap. The Death Knight stood upright and easily lifted Airilon from the ground.
Correus's blood boiled at the sight of his bloodied friend and charged at the Death Knight hoping to save the unconscious Airilon
The Death Knight grinned at Correus and viciously hurled Airilon at the nearest tree as if he were no more than a pebble.
"AIRILON!"
Correus rushed in his blades flurrying out in front of him.
Before the Death Knight could begin his own Correus launched his offensive and slashed for the Death Knight's head then launched a forward kick at his gut. The Death Knight easily dodged the sword, but the kick left him bent over. Correus moved in for the kill, but the Death Knight countered by ramming his shoulder into Correus's open chest, stealing away his breath and defeating the attack.

Again they circled each other, but as suddenly as it had ceased the fight began again. Blades whirled dangerously around the two slashing through anything they was unfortunate enough to find itself in the path of one.
Correus put the knight through his most savage routines and stabbed recklessly for any openings, but despite his efforts they were evenly matched. The Death Knight tired of the swordplay and bashed his elbow into Correus's face. Correus felt his nose snap and blood freely pour from it, but he was glad for the momentary lapse in combat and allowed himself to stumble away.
The sky darkened and screams emanated across the frozen grounds. The corpses of dead soldiers began to crack, bend and shake, suddenly, in a mess of gore, they exploded and from them emerged three blood-covered ghouls. Their heads followed Correus's every movement and suddenly, at their masters bidding, they charged him.

Correus was hard pressed to keep all the claws from the monstrosities at bay. His blades were a blur and he could hardly register what he blocked and what found it's way through his defenses.
The Death Knight smirked, believing his victory assured, and slowly walked in to kill the occupied Correus.
Correus saw the Death Knight in the corner of his eye and worked furiously to free himself up. He launched a kick at the nearest ghoul's legs, and threw an elbow to the face of another. Both times he connected with flesh and rotten bone that snapped against his blows. As two of the ghouls collapsed to the ground Correus brutally chopped apart the remaining ghoul before returning to finish off the others.

The Death Knight charged Correus, realizing his advantage had been defeated and met his slashing blades with his magically imbued strikes. Correus could feel those strikes slowly stealing his strength and sapping his energy and soon his movements began slowing and his defense left open holes.

Correus knew that he had to end the fight, or collapse from fatigue. In a moment of desperation Correus let his blades go out wide, exposing his chest to the knight. The Death Knight took the bait and brought his blade down in an overhead chop, but Correus was waiting. With his remaining strength he brought his off-hand sword up and parried the strike then stabbed for the Death Knight's heart with the other.

Correus's eye's opened wide as he felt his blade connect and penetrate the strong armor the Death Knight wore, then dive even deeper, he followed his first stab with another that drove deep into the Death Knight's gut.

Correus pushed the corpse to the ground and searched for Airilon and found him face down in the blood-covered snow. His heart sunk at the sight, Correus stepped towards his friend, but an excruciating pain shot through his arm. He stumbled slightly and clutched his arm. He could feel something moving in his veins.
Correus tore off his cloth sleeve and discovered a shadowy substance slowly moving beneath his skin snaking it's way to his heart. As if he were waking from a dream he became aware of his pain and fatigue, he felt the intense cold, the cuts and gashes, and his stiffening limbs.

Another undead appeared and began hacking away at Airilon. Correus wanted to scream out in denial and chop apart the monster and go to his friends rescue, but he couldn't, his body no longer answered his calls. All he could do was watch as his friend was murdered.

Correus fell to his knees and his swords fell from his grasp. He felt so cold, so empty, so hopeless. Around him fellow soldiers rushed to his aid, only to be torn down by the undead. Fires began shooting from the earth consuming the living and dead alike, obeying the will of a lich.

Correus...

That warm voice, he didn't remember who's voice it was, but it called to him from his memories and gave his soul peace.
"Ker-Kerie-"
Correus didn't hear the screams of his fellow soldiers as they too were soon overpowered by the Scourge, he didn't feel the fires or the explosion that consumed his being, his eyes were shut and his mind drifting...back, back through memories, back to his Kerieana.

(Parts of the story were meant to be italicized, but I got lazy...)

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
I won't be getting the game for a couple of days.... :(

Other than that I look forward to seeing you all in game. :)
