JenLynn`s Introduction
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player.:
Most people who know me sum me up with the term, "Motherly". I wish I could argue this, but in truth it's very suiting. I love cooking, often find washing dishes or cleaning to be a good way to blow of steam, and tend to be the one who listens and offers advice to those I care about.

I'm generally easy going, with a good sense of humour and usually a level head. Like any human being I have my rough days, but I tend to spend those times in solitude- I don't believe in subjecting others to my nasty moods.

I am lucky enough to have found the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. I am grateful every day for this. We're one of those couples that most would look oddly at- as we're long distance, AND met online (on a retail RP server, no less). As such I'd like to think that he and I are advocates of that often looked down upon love.

I also dabble in art, and have been known to 'disappear' for a while as I lose myself in a painting or sculpture.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?
I was born into a military family and thus spent a lot of time traveling as a kid. The nation of my birth is Great Britain- or England, if you prefer. However, I currently reside in California.

My primary language is English, though occasionally I do slip and spell things in the European fashion rather than the American.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
I picked up warcraft at the recommendation of a friend who said it was good stress relief. At the time I was working in a retail store and it was just before Thanksgiving. Anyone who's worked at one of the general retail marketers in America during that time can relate to the need for stress relief, I'm sure!

I've been playing for about two years now, off and on.

What made you seek our server over others?:
When I started playing I was on a pvp server, and hated it because progression was difficult if not impossible.

I then joined an RP server at the suggestion of a friend.

There I was fortunate enough to find a guild of players who were around my age (26), and of similar interest, intelligence, and ambition. However, life happened for the Guild Master, and without him the group sort of fell apart.

From there my fiance and I transferred to a PVE server.

The desire for RP is what drove him to look for a new RP server, and it was he that found CotH. We looked over the rules and regulations, and decided this would be a good place for us to see if we could find a niche.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
I tend to try and suit myself to the situation I find myself in. The guild I was part of in the RP server 'sponsored' an RP chat channel called 'campfire'. The setting was just a general campfire, where adventurers could wander by and take a moment of company or food. Often it would be silent, and I would simply begin solo RP'ing until I was able to coax others into joining. I also organized monthly RP events, usually with at least 20 people attending.

So long as there's a story to partake in I'm happy!

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
Tauren are my favorite race. When I have to think about the reasons for this, I'd have to say there are a few. First would be their belief system and their respect for the Earth, as well as their generally peaceful nature and loyalty. Added to that their nomadic life style- having moved all over the place, myself, I find the idea of doing that even in character to be enchanting.

However, because I like to RP with my friends (most of whom dislike the horde), I usually end up playing Night Elf. I choose them because of their respect for the world around them.

As for my favorite class, I'd have to say hunters. I love animals, and rather enjoy having the extra critter to RP with. Often my characters' pets have odd quarks and stories behind them. My character's pets are just as active as my character in RP.

What are your expectations of this server?:
I hope to find a community of intelligent people who enjoy immersing themselves in story just as much as I do. I also hope to find that they accept that I do have a life outside of the game, which will always take priority.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
Respect and Maturity are the rules that really tipped me over into wanting to play here. I love the fact that this community encourages people to be adults in situations rather than encouraging the negative behaviour that brings so many places down.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
A loud cry of anger echoed from the campground, the sound rocketed through the forest and sent small birds to flight. The dwarf had woken to find his campsite destroyed. His pack lay torn open, and his belongings were strewn about the clearing. His campfire still burned, and his immediate assumption was that some ill mannered lout had mucked up his things simply to play a joke. He had accepted this, and gone about picking things up- until he noticed his beer was gone. Five skins of his finest home brew had been safely packed into a wooden crate which he was delivering to his brother who had taken up residence in The Hinterlands. The crate was destroyed, and the drink gone. Three empty skins lay scattered around his campsite, seemingly destroyed for the sheer joy of destroying them. The leather was cut and torn, and the dark earth seemed to have drank most of it. Anger boiled in him, and the warrior took up his axe and made his way through the forest after the foe.

Long walks often give one time to let their temper cool, even more so if they left in a rush with no real idea of where they were going and no sort of compass or map. Doubling back to the camp gives one even more time to cool. So it was that by the time he found the fourth empty skin the warrior was beyond his anger, and drifting slowly into the realm of curiosity. The tracks he'd been clumsily following were not of any human shape, nor were they hooves. For the majority of the day the warrior had been following the tracks of a bear.

A study proved that the cuts weren't random cuts of an angry or mischievous knife but rather tooth marks. He pocketed the skin and continued on his way, finding that he didn't have far to go. Not more than two hundred paces ahead lay the culprit.

Sleeping soundly was a young bear, not even big enough to be full grown. Had his coat not been splashed with beer the creature would have been a snowy white; rare for this area. Curled against the base of a tree he slept, with the last skin of beer tucked neatly into his arm.

The warrior pondered for only a moment before deciding what was to be done. As the bear slept he blindfolded it gently, and after reclaiming the last skin of beer he bound the beast's feet together. The sun was getting low, but the warrior was close to his brother's home, and so he dug in his heels and hauled the drunken, sleeping beast onward.

It was then that Kynlias had seen him. Sent to retrieve feathers of wildkin for study, the elf had been doing her best to finish the task quickly. It was hoped that in sending the young hunter out into the world she would be able to gain further understanding of the animals in it, and better learn how to make one her companion. When she saw a dwarf dragging an incapacitated bear through the woods she felt the only right thing to do was to stand up for the innocent creature.

"You there! What are you doing to that poor creature?! Haven't you the decency to at least put your dinner to death before hauling it home?" she yelled out to him, with her shoulders back and head held high. She felt righteous.

Her feeling was quickly doused when the dwarf, who was obviously unafraid of her laughed. Laughed long and loud, so much, that he dropped the rope over his shoulder to wipe tears from his eyes.

"Innocent creature?" he said when he was able to catch his breath, "Lass, if ye be thinkin' this creature is innocent an pure then come an take 'im from me. Yer welcome to 'im."

Kynlias didn't hesitate. Her feet carried her swiftly forward, and her knife was at the ready. The binds about the beast's paws were quickly severed, and the blindfold removed. Awakened by the noise, the bear slowly lumbered to his feet. His unstable footing soon sent him tumbling back down to the earth.

"You drugged him!" the angry girl assumed, her eyes bright with emotion and her fists near shaking.

"Well 'en ya'd better be takin' im to where ever ya came from an nurse 'im back to health, aye?" the dwarf called back over his shoulder as he continued on his way.

Kynlias helped the bear up, using her shoulder to brace the beast. Her glare was cast at the back of the retreating dwarf.

"I'll be back to right this injustice, dwarf." She said.

"Any time ya feel like rightin' this injustice ye can find me in the lil' town of Kharanos. Me name be Falstad Latebrew." was the response she got, his words broken by his lingering laughter.

Two years later Kynlias did seek out Falstad Latebrew. At her side was a great bear of white coat, with a thick leather collar which bore a metal plate engraved with the beast's name. She arrived with a crate of beer, and a wizened eye. They sat late into the night exchanging tales, hers mostly of her travels and the trouble her companion had caused during them. When at last she and the bear were ready to leave the old warrior went to walk them out. It was only then that he saw the name engraved on the plate of his collar. "Falstad".

"It seemed like the perfect justice." Kynlias said as she left, her bear at her side and the dwarf laughing behind her.
