IvyWhip`s Introduction
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player.:
Heya hey, everyone. Let me begin by apologizing for some liberty taken with my grammar and spelling from time to time, as I've taken to transcribing my manner of speech. That all said, I've been involved in RP since my brother introduced me to it when I was 9, with Marvel Superheroes by TSR. I tend to be the DM/ST/GM in my group, and have recently been enjoying online ST, but have recently fallen ill of money luck, and am not able to renew, much less maintain, an account.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?
I'm from the US, North Carolina born and raised, recently of the Seattle area. My primary (and only, really) language is English, which I am also attending college for (Creative Writing, specifically).

How did you get into Warcraft?:
Played Warcraft II on lan at the game shop in my town for sometime, and enjoyed the gameworld. Played a touch of Warcraft III but was sadly unimpressed with the writing for the narrative, and had long since lost my game store, so multiplayer was hard to collect. Stumbled into WoW when my ex bought me the game and a few months of play as a gift. I really enjoyed the open world, and the race/class choices were interesting, though occasionally unintuitive. Above all, I ended up crashing into a decent community almost by accident on one of the RP servers.

What made you seek our server over others?:
In all honesty, I didn't even know there was a such thing as 'private servers' for any game, until a friend on a separate chat mentioned it, when I bemoaned my lack of account. I did a search, and of the several RP servers I saw, the notion of one that seemed to pre-screen potential members seemed like a curious idea. It would either amount to a stronger community of better RP, or an insular group of self-important elitists. Largely with an internal shrug, I assumed the only thing I really had to lose by 'applying' for membership was a simple denial, while were I accepted, I could find a new community of like minded and hospitable folk.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
I enjoy a number of different styles, though largely one on one unless there is a larger plot to advance. Again, unless there is an advancement of some larger plot, I find combat largely unnecessary at best and irritatingly insipid at worst. I don't mind danger, nor disfigurement or torture, but the notion of player killing player for no purpose other than self-aggrandizing has always struck me as a silly endeavor among friends, unless it is to further a story of some kind.

All of that said, tavern, city, wildlands RP can all be fun, as can incorporating quests into RP, or even such RP as to involve relationships or violence, if it is furthering the story of one of the involved parties (though I prefer to know that's why I'm being mutilated/murdered, and try to inform people if my story will result likewise).

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
As to the Alliance, I tend to prefer Night Elf Hunter or Draenei Wizard or Paladin. Among the Horde, I enjoy Orc Warrior or HUnter, and Blood Elf Warlock. I am also a fan of most Human classes.

What are your expectations of this server?:
I know you don't want short answers, but in all honesty my expectation for the server is Roleplay. I'd prefer and hope for decent RP and helpful players, with open minds who are welcoming to new players.
What I fear was the aforementioned notion of an insular, elitist group that expects encyclopedic knowledge of all things regarding Azeroth, as if nothing else in life matters.
In the long of it, my expectation is for something in between, as it is for any RP community based around a game or setting with a singularly large and often self-contradicting amount of lore.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
I'd like to say that it should be clear that the rule and such that most endears me is the enforcement of RP and the interest that gives to someone looking for a decent and well developed RP community.

In addition, I enjoy the idea that both Humility and Godmodding are discussed in the rules, which are the two largest weapons against RP in an online community.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
There is blood on the snow between the sparse stands of trees, the shadow of the hill almost cresting along the frozen riverbed just feet from the cold-withered husk that lay beneath waves of the still falling frost. The air smells sweet with rot, graced with the taste of pine and cedar that flavors the bite in the nostrils.
The leather at her knees creak as she kneels in the snow, brushing the snow from the face of the corpse and brushing the lips with fingertips wrapped tightly in leather. Slipping one of her blades from its sheathe, the sheepskin quieting its exit before taking the tip of the blade and lifting the chainmail coif that had fallen over his eyes as he died.
A pursing of her lips, fingertip slipping into the open socket and trailing around the dried flesh. She could see the snow colored cats moving just past the trees, and noted the absence of their tracks around the body. In the distance, a wolf yipping. Somewhere nearby, a bear growls.
There are no tracks around the body. None save hers, all the rest destroyed by a day's snow, but no marks of predators nearing the body. No tatters in the flesh not rent by the ravages of magic.
The sky darkens further, all but blacking out the sun behind pregnant clouds as the snow rises, the chill in the air deepening, and a growing shadow of threat in her heart as she turns, fingers tensing on the hilt of the blade, leather creaking as it grinds against leather, her other hand slipping to the still sheathed handle of her second blade.
The wind rises, and her skin almost cracks in the deep freeze of it. An almost whispered oath. A hungry growl on the air that is uttered by no animal. It is a vibrating howl on the wind, an angry alien sound that shutters through her bone and blood.

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
Let me say to complete at the end that, if I am offensive in my manner during this, I apologize. I do not mean to imply that the server is elitist or insular, but it is a threat with any group that excludes by application, as I hope you'll all understand. I'm much more affable and gregarious in person, or in simpler terms, but in any kind of officious document I tend to be somewhat terse and straight to the point.

Oh, and in advance, I apologize for the.. darker notions of some of my writing, should I begin to post storylines here.
