Yeah, basically, I seem to have screwed up with my installation of the newest patch. I specifically refrained from installing 3.3.3, so I should be on the same patch as you guys... and yet it's still telling me that it's unable to validate game version. I don't know whether the part of the WoW program that actually, uh, validates game versions is striking for better pay or something, but meh. Me being the cruel, capitalist corporate mogul that I am, I have no intention of paying it any more than I already am. >:3
But seriously, I've been trying to figure out what's wrong for two days, tried everything my excessive brainstorming and few friends I've asked for advice can think of and have found no real solution. So y'know what? I'm going to listen to my friend back on retail who's been nagging me to come back for months, buy a gamecard and patch up fully to 3.3.3. If I said "it's not you, it's me", you'd roll your eyes, scoff and look away, but that really is true. CotH, I love you, but I can't be with you anymore.
Now assuming CotH is ever again on the same patch as retail and/or I'm broke and motivated enough to try downpatching (or just bored again), I might be back. For now, though, I'm gawn. I'd rather not give my characters final closure just yet with when I do return in mind, so assume they're just MIA or doing their own thing at the moment. If their names come up in RP, improvise. Jared got lost in the woods, Miles is away on business, Harkin friggin' Rockridge is being amazing and badass on another planet... et cetera.
