First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player.:
Completely fell into online roleplaying about 5 years ago when I decided to try out an MMORPG (Not Warcraft but, I'd bet money WoW's popularity was what inspired me to look into the genre). I had zero idea what I was doing but noticing I at least tried to stay IC, someone dragged my character to "The Tavern" where at that time all the super star RPers would hangout... After sitting quietly at a table for a few minutes, I got up the nerve to IC blurt out an introduction and haven't looked back (or shut up?) since. I also have a university degree in Screenwriting so, perhaps it isn't too much of a surprise that I took to roleplaying and very much enjoy trying to craft a fictional character's personality.
What country do you come from? What is your primary language?
USA, West Coast. English.
How did you get into Warcraft?:
To be quite honest, A few years back I played the retail version of WoW for about 3 or 4 months before getting bored... both of the PLing first community (Even on a so-called RP server) and with the monthly fees. :P So, I guess you could say I'm still rather new to the Warcraft universe. However, I did take the time to read through the condensed history in the wiki and it seems to be a very vibrant world to play in.
What made you seek our server over others?:
Several online roleplayers suggested Conquest of the Horde to me... After the third or fourth recommendation I figured there might be something worth checking out.
What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
Relaxing tavern roleplay seems to capture it pretty well... the everyday kind of conversations that always leave room for something interesting or action packed to happen but never force it. After all, if an "epic" RP is happening everyday, wouldn't that just make it the mundane?
I have been apart of and enjoy many different types of RPs though, both large and small scale but, for the most part I try to let the story come to me rather than vice-versa.
What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
Night Elves have always intrigued me (though gnomes I always found very fun). Sacrificing immortality to save a world seems to me a good jumping off point for some interesting character development, especially since most of the IG Night Elves would have lived through the actual event... assuming I am remembering my bit of WoW history right.
Their devotion to nature seemed open for some interesting possibilities too... Especially since it seems that some of the younger Night Elves have been enticed away to explore rather than embrace their traditional duties.
Rogues are definitely my favorite. The good/evil ambiguity that seems naturally part of their character I have always enjoyed RPing and the ability to go it alone or play nice in a group I have always found wonderfully flexible. Plus... who doesn't like throwing daggers?
What are your expectations of this server?:
Hopefully just an RP first mentality. I figure anyone that takes the time to search out this server is either already an accomplished roleplayer or someone just starting out but very dedicated to learning. On paper, that strikes me as a very good, self selecting community.
Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
Keyboard skills? Nah, just kidding. Maturity is the one that caught my eye. For better or worse (most likely worse) online video games have a reputation for the most immature and disrespectful (Hmm... can I pick two favorites?) player base in the known universe. It'd be nice to find a game where people interact like near-rational human beings... similar to how they act in RL, rather than some obnoxious person safely veiled by anonymity.
Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
I'll dig something up when the time comes. It'd probably take me a while to find/pick something and with my luck, Windows will probably decide to update... restart... and erase everything I've already written!
