Connection Issues

I've been having issues with connecting that seem to be have happened to quite a few people here.

I've read through the entire Tech Support forum trying to figure out what to do. So far everything I've tried hasn't worked.

When I try to connect to the server, I get a message that basically says, "Incorrect username/password please contact Blizzard, etc." It has been trying to connect me to retail servers.

My realmlist is fine, I'm patched up to 3.3.2, I even made sure the two WTF config files that have been mentioned in a few other threads are set to the server.

At this point I'm wondering if I may have entered a letter or number wrong in my password when I set up my server account. Or perhaps it takes a while for me to be able to access my account? I've only been approved since this morning. Thanks for any help you guys can give!

Are you absolutely positive you're running Wow.exe and not Launcher.exe? And that the 'Run Launcher' checkbox is unchecked at the login screen?

Yes. I made sure to run .exe and checked to make sure the launcher wasn't running several times.

Another common mistake is entering the incorrect password. I PMed your password to you, just to make sure.
Also, how many realmlists do you have? And what is its (or their) location(s)?

The password isn't incorrect. I just checked it.

I have one realmlist in the data>enGB folder.

There are two folders in the WoW folder with the names WTF and WTF.(series of numbers) that have config.wtf files in them. They have something to do with connecting to realms I believe, when I opened them in notepad they were similar to the realmlist.wtf file but with other information in them unrelated to connecting to realms. (Stuff about sound, video, etc.) I changed those to connect to logon.conquestofthehorde.com also.

The config file never has to be touched. Try moving your realmlist file to the base WoW directory. Also, does your computer show extensions for known file types in addition to unknown ones?

Yes, it does show known and unknown file extensions.

Moving the realmlist didn't do anything.

I know someone else was having issues with that address. Try using the old address and see if that helps (coth.game-host.org instead of logon.conquestofthehorde.com).

I had tried that before and I got got a message that said I couldn't connect to the server/incorrect server address or something like that.

This time I tried it and it gave me the same error message I get when the realmlist is set to logon.conquestofthehorde.com.

I tried logging in with your account, and I was also unable to do so. It seems you encountered one of those rare instances where the server simply doesn't like your password. I changed it to a temporary one and will PM it to you in a moment, which you can change at your discretion. I would suggest, however, to use something a bit simpler; perhaps that will help.
