Ricochet`s Introduction
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player.:
Enjoying myself, and bringing about an enjoyable experience for those I rp with, is always my objective. That about sums me up as a player. Laid back and interested. Casual roleplayer due to limited time with internet access, but when there is time rp is something I get into.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?
I'm American, and I like to think I handle English pretty well. That's about the limit, though. I know how to say I don't speak about four different languages, in those respective languages.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
Blizzard fan via Starcraft. Warcraft fan via friend referral. Warcraft story fan via bookstore curiosity and a surprise time investment.

What made you seek our server over others?:
There are others?

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
Can't say I actually have a favorite. Coming from a text only forum of rp, characters of mine tend to be less based on a certain setting-within-setting or precise purpose than they are a collection of personality quirks/traits and sometimes abilities. That being said, they sort of blend in wherever.

My favorite type of rp is probably the rp I didn't look for as a favored setting.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
I don't know yet. I haven't roleplayed on an MMO before, which rules out any experience having roleplayed Warcraft. I'm sort of plain, so I'm not likely to go with the more vibrant class/races. No Blood Elf mages/Gnome...anything... for me.

What are your expectations of this server?:
Roleplay. Curious to see how it works out using an MMO as a setting. Not knowing what to expect, I can't really be disappointed.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
Humility. Haha it's not actually one of my expectations of this server that this rule is actually followed all of the time. But I like that it's listed. Roleplaying isn't a novel, and in my experience with rp it goes best when everyone around understands that.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
Jern spent a lot of time in the Cathedral. That said, his presence was an easy one to overlook. He dressed plainly, his countenance was generally unassuming. Many of the clergy there had taken quite a while to notice when, years ago, this man wandered in and never really left.

There were oddities, certainly. Jern never seemed the overtly religious type. When approached by priest or priestess, paladin or squire, his conversation wasn't one of a devout servant or hopeful to bare the judgment of the Light. In fact, it is a bit difficult to get any sort of pious behavior out of the man. He'll lounge about the halls, he'll read, he'll sit and listen during events.

Never is he seen praying, requesting the council of a clergyman, or even donating when it is time to. The plain man (even plain by appearance, of dark skin, dark hair, dark eyes, lightly weathered and lightly scarred) seems to prefer to find an out of the way place to watch or to rest. Just he and his sword, and occasionally a book.

War does strange things to people, an almost-wise almost-friend of his once remarked. This one had created a cold and unyielding evil, killed more individuals of more races than could really be justified, and threatened still to permanently mar the land of Azeroth.

Stranger than death, the capacity to cause it, its convincing manner of drawing the living in to perpetuating it (even if by promising they will never experience it)...stranger than it all, is what it does to the living who managed to not be killed or consumed.

A plain man from Westfall, who lived in the attic of a chapel of the Light, becomes a soldier. A warrior. Battling true evil, in the sort of place he was certain true evil would be comfortable. When being a soldier has finished, the same man (now a survivor, a warrior, beyond his greatest imaginings) wanders back to familiar lands. Now a plain man with a sword.

Leaning against it as he listened to prayer lead by the Arch Bishop, he wondered if this applied as a form of...advancement. Now with a grand total of one possession, and a far nicer chapel to idle around, he sometimes got to wondering if somehow he was favored. Or just excessively lucky.

Luck, or fate, was always a silly concept to him. He adjusted his seat (still in the process of writing, that's just what came out off of the top of my head before I got tired. Going back to wrap up, eventually. Came out written sort of like a novel except from a novel that doesn't actually exist. Seemed like the easiest way to go about it.)

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
Nope.
