Hardcastle`s Introduction
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player.:
As a player? I've gone through a bit of phases, hurr. I remember when I first started out, I didn't actually roleplay at all. I was a carebear on a Normal Server that got introduced to the whole sha-bang by a friend. I *had* Roleplayed before WoW, but OOC Dramas had turned me off to it. The aforementioned friend left the server which led to me rerolling on an RP Realm-- Argent Dawn. That phase was honestly just me being a troll, I sadly admit. It wasn't until a bit after my first year of Roleplaying that I actually read up on Lore and started to try and take things more seriously. That phase lasted... eh heh... until I lost my job, and, ultimately, stopped playing World of Warcraft a few months ago. I've been bored out of my skull looking for a new source of gainful employment, and so thus started looking into alternative sources of Roleplaying- which led me to here!

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?
I hail from America-- specifically, Texas. I was born smackdab in the middle of the state and haven't really moved an inch from there ever since (No, I don't have a drawl). Despite being half Irish and Spanish, I sadly don't speak a word of Gaelic OR... well, Spanish. My proficient and only language is English.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
Four or five years ago (I'm a bit sticky with dates.), I was watching my brother play World of Warcraft over his shoulder. I recall thinking about how awesome his Undead Warrior was-- which prompted me to play on his account too as my own. I eventually got my own account a year after that-- alittle while after I started roleplaying; it was much easier to carry on without having to share an account, naturally.

What made you seek our server over others?:
I *did* read the guide, promise... but... nnh. I won't lie, I'm not really good at that-- I used Google to look for RP Servers, and was kind of disappointed to find there weren't very *many*, it seemed. Compared CotH with WoW Freedom and Forsaken Realm, though, I think this one's the best of the lot, hands down.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
There is barely a single aspect of Roleplaying in WoW I don't enjoy- when everything runs smoothly. Fight scenes are fun, because they really test the creativity of a person, translating in-game spells and the like. With the right crowd, though, my favorite aspect? Hanging out in town and just being snarky with a straight-man or two. That's always fun!

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
Toughie. Well, sort of. Easily my favorite Class is Rogue, due to how flexible the class itself is. It lends itself to a lot of moral ambiguity (Something you wouldn't conventionally find as a Priest or Paladin, that's for sure), and it seems less set up for cliched outfitting. (On live I knew *so* many warriors who would constantly wear full sets of plate armor-- even in cities. Come on, loosen up!) As for Race? I'd have to go with.. Dwarves! They're a malleable race. While I always would cringe when someone would play a dim Draenei with an accent so thick that you can't even understand what they just typed (ess theese guud rulplayink? Normally people who type like this get made fun of!), or a Troll whose only goal in life is to smoke enough Shimmerweed to overdose, there's just something about Dwarves that lends themselves to be easily played seriously or in a more silly manner, and it not seem weird.

I blame the beards!

What are your expectations of this server?:
Boning up on your neato-skeeto Wiki, and these applications and whatnot, I'm expecting the best of the best in terms of roleplayers-- and, of course, good times.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
"Humility" is one that I wish a lot of Live Roleplayers had. While I did enjoy myself on the various Servers Blizzard provided, undoubtedly one would always run into someone like "ARTHASS THE SUPREME", who generally don't dispense good times at all.

Yeah, you're a rough-n-tough adventurer; most people are in this world, given one of the few ways to get around efficiently is about fifty feet in the air clinging to a giant bird for dear life (No thanks, I'll walk~), but that doesn't mean you're infallible, right?

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
It was getting late in sleepy, unflappable Stormwind. Various never ending field trips were winding down, truces were settled on the matter of ownership of a small girl's doll, and the populace, while normally thick enough that one could throw a rock anywhere and likely hit a Night Elf, had thinned to the point that people noticed the road was cobbled. Shocking, really.

As the mainstream populace simmered, however, that certainly didn't mean the city itself was shutting down. As good people laid their heads to rest, other, less law abiding citizens were only just rousing from their rest.

Within the Cut-Throat Alley, one such man was rubbing away at his eyes, determined to break the 'seal' the sandman had placed on them. The owner? Certainly not, none could own the Alley. Merely he was yet another purveyor of it's facilities- namely, the odd, large bed housed with the flat. This narrator, personally, would never sleep in a communal bed, but such is life when one is against the law.

Sliding from the sheets and blanket, the male stood, hunched over as feeling returned to his legs. He couldn't have been older than twenty-six, the ravages of age not yet apparent on his narrow, tanned face. One could argue the expansive stubble was an assistant to that, but further research would require a razor- and as such was likely best left a mystery. Slicking back his shoulder length, dark hair, he made his way down the stairs- upon which he saw them.

Ruffians! Bandits! Cads and ne'er do-wells, all assorted in the living room, dressed for mayhem and general no good. The sight caused the male to crack a grin across his bearded face, and so he greeted them all, his beloved rogues gallery, as per his norm;

"Lovely, we're assembled. Well then, lads and ladies, what laws *haven't* we broken yet? Summon the checklist and we'll get down to business."

Indeed, merely another night to burn for the underbelly of Stormwind City.

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
Nope~! I can only hope I'm deemed worthy- fingers crossed!

Welcome!

Ahhh, classic stereotypical characters. Not only the draenei with the thickest accent ever, but people that play dumb orcs that don't know their way out of a paper bag! That's the one that really raises my hackles.

I know, right? Of course, there's always the exact opposite effect-- getting "too creative". :X I met a girl on Wymrest Accord who had written an entire Sisterhood intricately into the WoW Timeline and Universe. At first glance? It sounded pretty neat and interesting until you got to the end product of this: Fel flowing sapphic women who generally had group relations (with a minimum of three) who were into kinky intercourse and could grow... ahem, male parts.

It's a fine line we walk, and also a horrifying one. Also! I notice I'm labelled as a "Peon" now. I assume that means I've been accepted and can log onto the server? :D

I know. :| Whenever she posted something I'd have the "Price is Right" failure stinger looping in my mind. She was a great RPer, just her content and backstory really... really sucked.

...Don't blame the beard! Just admit your love for the beard.
