Correct Usage of the .addrpitem Command, A Guide

I think it would make sense if warlocks wore something that did not betray what they did though armor would be too restrictive and cumber-some for them.

At any rate, I didn't create this guide to shelter a flame war, it was intended to help people understand the command and let them know that there is only so far they can go with the armor and weapons they choose. Posting another thread and doing it there would just start the flame war there. I wouldn't be worth it, trust us.

Jason, I think the community on CotH mature enough to not turn something like this to a flame fest, it would just be a place to, you know, get some help when in doubt.

I will agree with you, and follow up by saying that the mature members of the CotH community would not turn it into a flame war.

Edit for quote fail.

I don't mind the fancy over the top armour, as long as its not glowy cause that always seems mary sue overpowered to me.

Only, any of my characters seeing someone in colourfull, big, or overly decorative armour will see them as a bad warrior (or whatever class), who wears it to overcompensate, kind of like seeing Gilderoy lockheart from harry potter. You just know that its all show if they have to make it look that good. Because lets face it, no serious warrior would wear anything more than they had to, carrying around kilograms of metal that only gets in the way shows that they are not actually interested in fighting.

Yup, the overcompensation stuff is probably right on the money. I have precisely one character that will wear anything like that and its only ceremonial , I mean as special occasions you gotta look your best :), but the actual battle set is the cobalt set. Which looks like something a frontline soldier would wear.

Refer to subject 1.5: Realism! It's important that he player understands that the character WILL be inhibited. If not, then that's just hinting powermoding.

I like the tier 10 warrior armor. It looks awesome, but it's not too much. Except the helmet, which is slightly too big. The rest of the armor looks great.

Exactly, would be pretty foolish either way to wear pauldrons that protrude giant eagles into battle anyway :)

I love this thread! I have always hated how certain items look in wow and will be very happy with less "uber" stuff that looks like actual armor/weapons!

Honestly I'd love a "set" of the stormwind guard's armor, simple platemail, swords and sheilds!
