Good Conquers All. Really?

Well, on my neutral character Lodur, doing -anything- evil has a lot of consequences that immediately crop up and cause a lot of issues which foul up any future plans.

Now he's neutral, not baby-seal-leather-boot wearing evil, and hasn't been sitting around trying to slay the world or do anything terribly stupid as of late. Although from his two encounters, he is now completely shut out of Booty Bay(possibly), Rachet (completely), and most likely more areas with six people who will kill me if they happen to find me. No idea if they're actively tracking me, but I've heard they're somewhat after me.

This is after killing a single person. Now my character isn't evil and the murder was supported by his character, but he has a serious hindrance on all his plans for the near future and has a real good chance to be dead rather soon. Although he was able to stay in town for most of the night, even interacting with most people to some extent, without being beaten to death with his own health bar.

The issue, as others have raised probably in much better ways than I can, is that good just has -so- much stacked in its favor that evil is pretty much out of luck once it's in the open. As Lodur so aptly understands, being quiet is the key to being successful at doing anything evil. When that fails, lie and spin your own reality around yourself that says you are the good guys! First ambush, I walked free. Second, I got away after sticking around a bit and live with my heart full of neutrality in tact. I couldn't lie my way out of that, so laying low for a while might help.

Just with guards, six people (eight including the soon to be resurrected Dael and Reigen) after me, and a whatever else might be thrown my way, the future is looking grim.

Evil has to be covert, or has to have enough power to destroy anything that stands up against it. To keep everything covert, you also need power, cunning, and a heck of a lot of luck on your side. One person gets away, one thing slips through the cracks, one plan goes awry and suddenly everyone is staring right at you, readying their weapons.

Gotta be smart, lay low, have plenty of back up plans, and try and have enough power to kill or silence everyone who stumbles upon your operation.

Edits:

Well, as I've learned, I'm not being shut out of Rachet or Booty Bay or anything. Even still, laying low is a good idea, don't wanna be tracked down and brought to justice.

I completely agree and the above puts in to words what I couldn't figure out to say. The 'good' people are selfless (usually) and will band together against a common foe, whereas 'evil' people want all the power for themselves.

I might add this quote for you Abishua: "That is the whole secret of successful fighting. Get your enemy at a disadvantage; and never, on any account, fight him on equal terms. "

Here may be two ideas- how about a lawful evil group? Or perhaps a group with good intentions, but is perhaps zealous or causes a lot of conflict? I think there's more than one way to be a "villain," and there's more than one motive(like, perhaps, a supremacy group).

In my opinion Lawful Evil is the best. Evil doesn't mean to wear some "badass" attire and go around causing trobule, evil is all around us in your lifes. You won't see the Mafia, Drug Dealers, Hitmans or other people like that dressed in weird clothes and starting trouble in public. They try to make it in the society as normal people.

I agree with you there. Personally I prefer LE over NE and CE, but I've seen people roleplay alignments wrongly enough times. I wouldn't sit back and say just the chaotic evil roleplayers tend to RP their alignment wrongly, though, because this site points out the other alignments people can RP wrong.

I like that quote, and I agree. I also feel people forget that there's a lot to gain in living another day and being cautious with your strikes.

Person you want to attack is with two other close fighter friends? Let them be. With a random elf in hot pants, making out? Kill them both!

Being an evil scumbag doesn't mean you're a -stupid- evil scumbag.

Hit hard, hit fast, and make everyone else dance to -your- tune. If the situation isn't in your favor, don't move to strike because you feel you have to. You have control, don't give up an inch in favor of haste.

Lawfull evil sadly is tough to pull off if you are anywhere with guards that work against you. If there is a lace with a corrupt guard, then lawfull evil is just soooooooo good *nod*

I agree with Ometh that good and evil don't exist, they are only opinions, that said, the characters that are labeled as "good" characters should not always overcome the conflicts they may have with the "evil" characters, defeating those atrocious adversaries as if they were little bump in the road. Not to say this should NEVER happen. It depends on the situation. If you have somebody that is what you might call "not the smartest of bad guys" who wanders into a very populated area, performing their malicious acts in front of many people, the "good" or more specifically "lawful good" would most likely conquer in that situation. On the flip side, if "your one and only valorous hero(ine) of greatness" wanders into a place such as the Ruins of Lordaeron or other places sharing grim similarities, thinking that he/she will defeat those "evil" people there. It is most likely that he/she will get killed, or run away with their...tunic in a wad. Whatever "heroes" are wearing these days. My conclusion on the subject: It depends on the situation, and no, "good" does not conquer all.

Lawful Evil requires you to play lawyer at times.
Best when done in the Goblin cities.
