The <Entropy> Project
#1
The Entropy Project:

The Entropy project is a new guild which I'm creating to focus itself on one base idea, which is generally pretty appealing (and often thought about) by most mages. Increasing their magical power by any means necessary, for power's sake.

Currently we (or rather I) are in search of a core group to begin preliminary research and funds gathering before we can begin truly pushing into the realm of power.

We're searching for:
*Test Subjects/body guards: these will be people used as melee meat and test subjects of various experiments, which will most likely be used to test if a certain procedure is safe.
*Primary Researchers: these are spell casters who are going to be doing most of the heavy lifting work for the guild. This is a position which you'll be doing heavy research ICly and OOCly within a certain area, trying to figure out ways to apply it in a beneficial way to us. As an example, my character is doing heavy research on runic magic and runemasters, trying to discover and find runes to inscribe onto living creatures (and ultimately himself).

The test subjects are a more permanent position in <Entropy>, but Primary Researchers will be more fluid as the guild progresses. One concept which I hope to move <Entropy> to is a system where there'll be distinct ‘schools' (Alchemic enhancements, Fel corruption, Runic Magic, Sleeping with GMs, etc) which new recruits can join and ‘apprentice' under a Primary Researcher.

Other important stuff:

This is a neutral guild, where pursuing power is all that matters. If you want to try sending flowers to Thrall, go for it! Although you will be laughed at, there's no censor on what'll be acceptable to try and improve your character. As such, all characters are welcome, neutral good and evil. As most can see, good characters will definitely be for the most part a very small minority in Entropy (if they'll exist at all), and most likely be chaotic good. (Willing to overlook the fel magic and such in order to get strong to overcome another evil for the greater good?) Also, there are currently no goals within itself to use any and all power gained by this project. My character (and maybe yours) is in this for his own reasons, and assumes that you'll do whatever you'll do with your power and it's little concern of his. If the good cause a ruckus though, expect to be torched.

With that all said and done, if there are questions hit me up in-game on Lodur or Monide, or post here. There are also two events to happen for (hopefully) recruitment purposes, so keep an ear out.
All bumbling conjurers, clumsy squires, no-talent bards, and cowardly thieves in the land will be preemptively put to death. My foes will surely give up and abandon their quest if they have no source of comic relief.

The Letter

*There is a very odd unmarked letter resting on the ground, with a large and fairly intricate rune which covers the entire envelope. Looking it over, it is a moderately strong locking glyph on the letter.*

*Once you remove the runes, you open up the letter and begin to read it.*

"Congratulations at removing the runes on this letter. You are at least competent at the Arcane arts, and if you would like to become stronger then find me at the house just outside of Rachet with this letter.

Signed,

Lodur Spellstriker."

The Spell Flinger's Tournament!
Spoiler:

The Spell Flinger's tournament is where fellow magic users can test their power against eachother in friendly combat!

The rules are simple! Knock out your enemy combatant, and you win your match. Eventually there will only be one! Are you strong enough to defeat everyone?
  • Knock out your enemy to win!
Matches are 1v1 only (not including summoned pets).
All fel magic is banned from tournament use.

The winner receives: 5 gold cash prize and! (WIP, have ideas? Send them in ^.^)

So come and FIGHT!

8-17-10, starting at 7 PM server time in the Gurubashi Arena. Sign up today!

OOC Rules: We will be using a /roll 1-50 system with everyone getting 5 HP. If there is a difference of 25+ between the attack roll vs the defense roll, the attack is a critical hit and does two damage, otherwise all attacks do one damage. If the defense roll exceeds the attack roll by 25+, then the defender gets to counter. The counter is treated as another attack, and both parties roll for attack and defense. 0 HP is a KO, game over.

Obvious fel magic means you're disqualified.

If there's anything else you wish to know, message me in game or leave a post here.

The Spell Flinger's Tournament is over! Astus won the twenty gold prize, but everyone fought well! Congratulations to Lendri and Marlowe who made it to the final three-way battle!

The event went a lot longer than I expected, and the roster was pretty fluid throughout, but overall I think it was pretty good! Lots of quality RP fighting!

Next event I'm gonna work on streamlining the rules (and getting them to people in a more efficient manner) and making fights a bit faster. Probably removing crits and counters for the initial fights and lowering hp down to 3, and then moving to 5 hp crits and counter fights for the final battle.

If you were watching or fought in the tournament, or even just have any ideas or comments, leave a post! Looking for any criticism or comments, even if you hated it and want me to go die to Reigen's wrath which she has promised me.

<3 to you as well Zan, good luck to your guild!

Also I'd like to put a shout out to Aula Arcanum, who had quite a few people show up to the event and participate or simply observe. Also to the headmaster, who upped the prize to twenty gold out of his own pocket, many thanks and cheers to him. ^.^

And Entropy is officially dead! I wanted things to pan out over a much longer period of time and start getting some interaction with guilds going (specifically AA jumps to mind), but sadly I've been killed! Blarg. <3

If anyone wants to use this idea, or simply pull from it, be my guest. Hit me up in game as well, if you want to ask any questions about it.
