Elven Hearts and human Swords

Introduction
It was a dark time, the aftermath of the Third War. The Legion had been defeated at Hyjal, yes, but the spectre of the Lich King and his Scourge still haunted the lands. Lordaeron was still not completely subjugated to his will, pockets of human, elven, and even dwarven resistance held fast against the tide of death. But these strongholds were leaderless, or worse, lead by those who should not.
In no case was this more true, than of the force lead by Lord Garithos of Stormwind. The Nobleman-knight was a staunch believer in the superiority of humanity, and constantly berated and looked down upon the other races under his command. Nowhere was this more evident than the force from Quel'Thalas. Despite being led by Prince Kael'Thas himself, these newly formed "Blood Elves" were given the worst jobs Garithos could think of, ranging from guard duty to the most dangerous of patrols, all without a word of thanks from the Lord, or any of his men, whom he encouraged to be just as racist as he.
But this is not the story of mistreated Elves, nor of the humans who mistreated the elves. No. This is the story of one human, and one elf, who managed to find each other despite racism, war, and terrible misfortune. This is the story of Marcus and Santharia.
