The Story of Watchtower

A freelancer, by the name of Tekla Nova Backstrom, had served the world in all cases. She had no quarrel with race, or the job she was paid to complete. However, after working with some significantly darker employers, she began to question her morals. It was only until she was attacked by warlocks did she declare that her days with the dark forces of the world were over. Though blinded by the warlocks and soon repaired by her employer, she still departed, taking a friend along with her.

Now Tekla wishes to right her wrongs by serving the world and maintaining peace across the lands. With the money she earned from her years of work, she opens this opportunity to the public. She now seeks out the unknown, potential heroes of Azeroth to fight against that which threatens life and peace itself.

But that was her story... you have your own tales to tell...

The Code
Oath of Silence
Being a vigilante, sometimes it takes crime to beat crime. However, if you are convicted of an offense, you are to take full responsibility, even if you were not the offender. Nothing must compromise the rest of Watchtower and its members.

Oath of Peace
Innocent blood is never to be harmed in any circumstance. Nor are you permitted to strike fellow members. And unless tasked, only engage in combat to defend yourself.
Oath of Secrecy

You do not speak of Watchtower to non-members. If anyone wishes to join, they are to be brought to a ranking officer.
Oath of Loyalty

If you are running a task, fulfill it to the death. You are not loyal just to Watchtower, but to the good of the world as well.
Oath of Subtlety

Be discreet and unseen in everything you do, even if that means being loud and obvious.

In-Character Rules:

1. You are required to hold your identity a secret. Members are to not know who you are outside of Watchtower, nor should the public know who you are within it.

2. When on duty as a Watchtower member, you are to have your own selected name and uniform. This uniform must conceal one's face partially or completely in order to hold a degree of anonymity.

3. Never oppose lawful authority when in cities. Remember, you are trying to remain unseen.

4. If you are to leave service of Watchtower, do so on notice and under oath. Sudden departure will result in an immediate suspicion of betrayal, for which the penalty is a publicly-announced improvised warrant, bounty, and death on sight.

5. Never kill an enemy. They are to be captured, and brought to a Watchtower post for further instruction. The only time murder is acceptable is if you have no other choice.


Out-of-Character Rules

1.Keep to the rules of the server. Respect, and you will be respect.

2.Keep OOC profanity to a minimum.

3.No meta-gaming/god-modding. Yes we are ‘heroes', but not superheroes. We investigate and observe.

Ranks

Mistress
Tekla heads Watchtower, but is not entirely in charge. Though she may issue orders, Watchtower members are to be sure to be active on their own, taking investigations and justice into their own hands. Orders need not be waited on, but they are to be obeyed when issued.

Commander
This rank is gifted to 2nd in command to the Mistress and are to be obeyed just as much.

Watchman
Watchmen are the head captains. They much like soldiers, save they have a bit more power as far orders go. Should a team of Soldiers and Scouts move into the field, the Watchmen are to take lead.

Soldier
The core of Watchtower is composed of Soldiers, the fighters and main driving force of the organization. They do the dirty work and carry out orders given by leading officers. Of course, Soldiers and Scouts do work together to form partnerships and teams in order to carry out tasks more efficiently.

Scout
The main source of intelligence spawns from the information brought on by the Scouts. They are the spies, and while equipped to fight, are more suited to gathering knowledge of the world. Scouts are best suited to work with Soldiers, as they can give a heads up on current events. On the field of battle, scouts usually serve as lookouts and lurk ahead and report back with information.

Runner
The lowest, but not least important are the runners. They tend to small tasks, delivering messages and packages throughout the world. They, too, are to keep a listening ear, but are otherwise to remain silent.

Headquarters
Currently, headquarters remains in the house of Tekla Backstrom located in Cut-Throat Alley within the Dwarven District of Stormwind. A neutral/Horde headquarters will be established later on.
