When the good captain Avia and Jidaeo parted companies, she sent her second ship, There's Nothing Wrong, to pick up his "office furniture", and took her horse, and headed to the north of Ratchet, almost a day's ride away. When she arrived, it was dark, there were fires lit, and... none of the usual sounds she expected of her crew, no music, no singing, no laughing, no fighting, and certainly no romancing. The camp was... eerily quiet. As she made her way closer to the camp, she stepped on something, it was neither hard, like a branch, no soft, like a clump of dirt. She crouched down to take a look at it, and stiffled a gasp of surprise, it was Gerard, one of the humans working with her ground "recovery" crew. He was certainly beyond a doubt dead. From a quick examination of his corpse, the wounds mostly seemed to come from below his waist, none on his head or neck, all in the gut. She checked his pockets, whoever had killed him hadn't been interested in money or his possesions, she placed the items on his chest, she would send them to his family, as well as the balance of the rest of his wages. Further investigation was required.
Drawing her dagger, she stalked furhter into the camp, through the flickering of the fire, the tents seemed vacant, some had dark splotches, that the firelight didn't show through. She continued on, not looking in the tents, the camp was wrecked, the fires weren't even in the firepits, instead in the wreckage of tents and shacks. She suddenly halted, as her elven ears picked up on sounds coming from somewhere nearby. She dropped down, leaning against the wall of a burnt out timber shant. There were whispers and she thought that she recognized them. Waiting for several more minutes, she looked up, two pathetic figures were slowly making their way out of the ramp to the ground level. A female elf, and a male draenei, she knew them to be part of her crew. Standing up cautiously, she walked over to them, careful to make sure she wouldn't be a target if this were some sort of a trap.
They looked up at her, recognizing her? They dropped to their knees, and began begging for their lives. Avia walked over to them, and saw the grievous wounds to Elnara, and the substantial damage that Wilzhou the draenei had sustained, his leg was broken, Elnara was bleeding profusely from her eyes and was struggling to hold in her intestines. She shook her head. Even if Jidaeo wanted this, if what she was digging for was even real, was it worth it?
