There's a rather clunky, red book tied together in the front. The pages are a faded yellow, and both the cover and everything inside is written in gnomish along with many possible schematics. Another part of the book is filled with quick blurbs regarding engineering.
00: Mechanical Eyes
A draenei mage had asked if I could build a set of eyes that could hold arcane magic. While I was not sure what he had intended I had managed to replicate the shape of an eyeball by studying a medical journal. The eyes act as a fuel cell that specifically hold arcane magic. The draenei told me that the eyes were just what he needed. What a strange person...
01: Tinkering on a live subject
((Note, this affects the character Derrick))
Had sedated a human male from Stranglethorn. He seems to be both strong in body and spirit. He seems to be a man of the light. Rather loud and cheeky, but willing to accept his fate.
“The Doctor†and I brought him down to the lower levels of the Catacombs where we experimented upon him. A rather large incision was made to the arm. Subject was not sedate. Machinery was integrated along the tendons and such (at this point there is a rough sketch on the human arm, marking the exact places where a copper rod and rings were placed in). The machinery has been attached to another device that is wrapped around the wrist.
Once everything had been stitched back up the device had been hooked together. The intended result was for the device to be triggered by a certain muscle movement. The device is only built to be triggered, which would be indicated by a light and beep.
Result: A night elf had broken his finger. The pain caused such a strong reaction the machinery was set off. The simple mechanism was indeed triggered by something he had done, but whether it was purely caused by muscle reaction is uncertain.
02: A mechanical limb
((Note, this affects the character Hieronymous))
The draenei mage had asked me if I could make a mechanical arm. It turned out a human male in the Catacombs had been suffering from broken bones and internal bleeding. I had brought him to a basement in Stormwind to operate.
Subject had been sedated and I severed his entire fore-arm. I wrapped bandages along his shoulder and nub to reduce the bleeding. I had then cut up remaining portion of his arm to embed certain copper devices which are finally screwed into the bone(once more there is a section devoted entirely to a sketch showing the changes made). Finally I put a copper band around the nub and a brace along his arm. At this point I had bandaged up the arm entirely to let it heal.
I had built a rough copy of what an arm should be like by measuring his other arm. The end of it is meant to connect to the brace that ends at his nub. However he still needs time to heal. I brought the subject back to the Catacombs where he can rest and later attach his new arm.
Results have yet to be observed since I had to do business elsewhere.
03: A wormhole generator
I had come across a schematic that explained a non-magical way to teleport over to Northrend. This was proposed as a way for emergency escape in our Plaguelands base. The machine was not too hard to assemble though obtaining the right components had cost a sum of money on the goblin market. The schematic warns that the wormhole is rather unstable.
Result: The wormhole had been used as a way to escape the House of Autumn's base in the mage tower. The Heretics and one of our spies had made it through to the Howling Fjord of Northrend. All users were scattered about but we managed to reunite back together with the exception of the draenei mage. The generator works rather well but should be used as a last resort if in large groups. Don't forget your radio.
