And as another comment;
I doubt written contracts would work either since it also require a working law and administration. It's not lore but I am the oppinion that Wow is in a place where the "church" has as much to say in justice and legalities as the crown and royalty.

You could buy a block of houses in Stormwind with 30 gold...or maybe a half district.

You're forgetting one minor detail. If he's really a big time loan shark who does a lot of dirty dealings he has several henchmen or at least a few really good ones. Simply have said henchman track the person for a while, once they're safely away from any guards have him knock the hell out of the loanee, strip him of his possessions then bam there ya go.

That works in a real life setting. But unfortunately, the majority of rp happens in one location, with guards. While in real life, someone would basically leave and head off home, in CotH, people log off, or hearth to GMI, therefore making it impossible to catch someone leaving an area, as in a way, they never actually have to.

And again, I threw out a random figure. I know a contract wouldn't really go for that, in the same way someone wouldn't really be called Evil guy A :P

Yeah true, but call them out on it if they like never leave. If they aren't willing to complete their end of the bargain for the full RP experience then GM intervention should happen in my personal opinion. Someone can only have enough money to stay at the inn for so long before they literally have to venture out. If they don't then they evidently aren't worth role playing with in the first place.

Yo there, don't be so rude.

Everyone here is worth roleplaying. We aren't in retail.

People CAN roleplay going home, etc. etc. etc. and often are willing to do so. By telling them, you're also making sure everyone agrees with the roleplay. I, for one, would never let any brutal / gorey violence happen to my characters out of the blue, and without being cheeky I'm a good roleplayer.

So please, PLEASE, toss your retail experience away. 0.0

Where were we talking about retail? o_O

I wasn't talking about retail at all. I also wasn't trying to be rude. I suppose what I should have said is, they wouldn't be worth the time and effort in including them in this style of role play. All people are different with different pros and cons to themselves, their characters, and their role play. I wasn't trying to be rude, rather just straight to the point and blunt about it.
