This place has almost always had an art thread, but I think it could use an art subforum (for drawing, writing, music, multimedia, etc.) at this point. There's a good number of people who are creative in other aspects here. No doubt it would get used.

Shifting the Art thread to an Art subforum? Fair enough idea, though in practice the thread already efficiently plays the same role.
I'd like to see it happen.

The thing about an art forum is that people could have their own individual threads to get direct feedback on, or threads for related art help could be posted. Stuff like that.

I one hundred percent support this idea. At least then not only to we get to see good art and give feedback, but we'd be able to post other such things as explained in the OP, anything which is considered artistic that the community would appreciate.
