ZeusComplex`s Introduction
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player.:
My nickname and online persona is Zeus, and I am a role player who has been out of the game for way to long. I am a student of Bio Medical Equipment Technologies, and I'm looking for a creative output to offset all the logical thinking my degree requires of me.

I've been a writer for almost my whole life, who usually focuses on small stories or role playing. With how busy and chaotic life was over the last few years, I've come close to losing the love of writing. These last few months have been quite fortunate for me and life is starting to become stable. With this new found stability, I've found myself becoming quite bored with my free time. What better way to fill up these gaps than by doing something I used to love oh so much?

Of course it hasn't been easy. Pen and paper games have helped, but I still crave a deeper, more player driven experience. I've even tried to go back to my old digital role playing outlets but they just didn't capture my attention. World of Warcraft is a beautiful game, however, and since I started playing it less than a month ago, I've found that inner flame start to grow.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?
I hail from Texas in the United States. My primary language is English.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
Ahh, yes. Warcraft: Orcs & Humans. It was the first strategy game I not only played but could fully say that I owned. As a kid, that's a pretty big deal. There is no doubt that I played it more than I should of, but even that amount was small compared to how much time I put behind it's sequel. I actually missed the third entry. By this time, I couldn't afford a new computer and I had fallen off into console territory.

By the time World of Warcraft had come out, I had all but written MMO's off as the devil. My first and only MMO was Ultima. While the game was fun, the community ruined it for me. This thought was even more re-enforced over the years from all the horrible things I have heard about the quality for MMOs. I am a role playing lover and MMOs just don't have those kind of communities behind it.

Of course I wouldn't be here, most likely, if I hadn't played the game . I finally broke down this year and decided to purchase it to play with a friend. And I'm glad I did, the game play is fun and so far playing it in a casual way with friends has been a complete blast.

What made you seek our server over others? (or How did you find us?):
Well, at heart, I am a role player. World of Warcraft seems to have a decent role playing community, but the lack of consistent story lines, all the griefers, and all the non role players ruining immersion during a scene made me curious if there was something more out there.

My first and only online role playing game, Neverwinter Nights, introduced to many talented role players much better than I was. After our sever disappeared some drifted off into limbo (Like me) and others found different games to role play in. When I mentioned I was interested in WoW role playing to one of these veterans, they promptly directed me to this place. They were once a member here quite some time and ago. They praised the sever and the role play occurring here and said this was a perfect place for me to join to get back into the groove of things.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
I enjoy all kinds of Role play. I'll even grudgingly do seeder and darker role play if that means it keeps the plot going. I guess you can say I am a storyteller role player. I enjoy communities split into various factions for the very function of conflict. I love to engage in all of the political intrigue, violent combat and power struggling those factions bring to the table. I also enjoy creating and building in character relationships with my allies. There is nothing better than to have a few friends in danger during these conflicts to give actual meaning to the event. I'll often engage in romance RP, if it develops, and I don't mind dealing with the drama that usually brings to a storyline.

While I like to take a break and engage in campfire or tavern RP, I usually find myself growing quite bored of it, if that is all that is available constantly. On the other side of the coin, It does make for a great break from all the epic storytelling that might be occurring at the time. Dungeon or Raid RP also makes for fun breaks. I don't like to grind by myself so having a little RP event around a leveling up session usually is great fun for me and is a perfect way to have a little bit of character development between all who participate.

I will do Forum RP, but usually in the form of character biographies, character thoughts and reflection and organizing events. If there is anything that can be resolved in game, I always try to seek that option. Sometimes it can't be done all the time, and I am perfectly willing to take it to writing on the forums if that is the only or final option to resolve an RP.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
Night Elf Hunter.

Anything elven are usually my choices of race in any role playing game that allow them. I like to play races that are emotional and deeply tuned with life. Usually in all fantasy games, its some kind of elf that fits this role. I could play a human but I play a human in real life; I find the idea of playing my own race a bit redundant. I also tend to play classes or roles that favor speed and finesse over anything else. And what better race symbolizes lithe and agile behavior than an elf?

I prefer Night Elves over Blood Elves because of the cultural difference between the two. While the magical background of Blood Elves is interesting, I have to go with the nature lifestyle of the Night Elves. And for a Hunter? The Night elf fuses perfectly with that class.

As far as classes go, it's a bit more philosophical than just "I like having pets and guns." I have a strange fantastical love of wanderer-like characters. In real life, I am held down by jobs, responsibilities, and commitments. As a hunter or ranger, I am the complete opposite of that. I am free to live as I want and do what I want. I don't evil play characters, but I also don't play goody goody characters as well. As a hunter I can be however gray I want and still retain my sense of freedom.

I can also have a best friend in the form of an animal and I am able participate in nature RP without having to abide by strict drudic law. I am a protector of the woods, but still open to the idea of using technology. In terms of true neutrality, hunters are my favorite and its the play style that fits best with my own imagination.

What are your expectations of this server?:
I want to participate in an ever changing and ever growing role playing world. A world that actually reacts to the change and shift of political power and turmoil. I want to be a part of a storyline that is deep, meaningful and emotional surrounded by players with a driven love for RP. I want the sever to be able to cater to everything I typed above for the "the kinds of role play I enjoy" question.
I want a community that is friendly and open-minded and not elitist or picky. I can be quiet and shy sometimes and other times I talk way to much about things that don't matter. Some communities I've tested, they have either been quite unfriendly or outright immature by insulting me for my nature. An outgoing community is no doubt the second most important trait I look for with storytelling role playing being first.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
Definitely the maturity rule. As I've mentioned before, maturity has been an issue with me when looking for a new RP home. Too many times, a ignorant player would start a tear in a community just to have his own desires met. Or players lashing out against each other in hurtful and destructive manners.

I also refused to be treated with disrespect and having maturity is a great way to avoid this from happening.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
I refuse to post my short story writing because honestly? They are way too personal for this occasion. Instead, I'll post an event I wrote up in a forum for one of my old role plays. These posts I wrote up as an introduction for my character that coincided with in-game events.

Title: Little Girl in a Big World (Past, Present, Future)
Diary Entry

Eleasias the 8th, xxxx DR

It was supposed to be my new life, my new....Do I dare call it a Paradise? I can't be quite for sure, but I do know that this life isn't exactly how I wanted it to be. All my years, I have been traveling, from my birthland, of which I know little about. to the sands of the great isle of Evermeet. Waterdeep was a brief affair, but I won't forget how scared I was around all those humans. Besides, I had Uncle Joseph to keep me safe. I miss him already....I can't believe I \am so lost right now!

I never meant to miss the Caravan that was heading from Midaway, to go to some place....called, Arque if I do remember correctly. Uncle said that this was his last Merchant trip, that we could finally settle down in this town he considered a grand opportunity Oh! It sounded so exciting. But I need to gain my thoughts...I need to know what went wrong before I could come up with a solution. A sound lesson, Auntie, You have been a great help to me.

Ok, So....It was supposed to be easy; Uncle said so. We where to travel from the High Forest, the last place he claimed he need to trade in. He said he finally had enough gold to settle down. He told me that no better place was than that of Astoria. As I asked him more of it, he claimed that Arque our destination was a growing town....something that had suffered from a huge battle and was now recovering from it. In other words as I stated before, a grand opportunity to make a little coin and live a sound life. I could always remember the way Uncle would laugh at that statement.

The boat trip to Astotia was long enough, but it was pleasant. The wind that blew against the seas proved to be a much needed ambiance that relaxed me during my long sessions of study. Uncle was always on the deck, always amazed by the ways of sailing. Auntie merely stay in her room, doing her own arcane studies that she refuses to teach me yet.

We finally made it to the shores of Astoria, and took rest in a tavern just by the gates. The Off Kelter Keg, I believe. It was decent but the music there was nothing like that of my kin. I faintly remembered when I lived among them, but I'm glad to share my years with Uncle and Auntie, though sadly they are to be short lived.

The next day we where to take a caravan that was leaving early morn. Though the sleeping night, I myself tired of waiting around, decided to take a small walk around the area and look among this vast city I was in. Soon enough, I found myself lost, lost among the maze of stone that surrounded me. Lost in a city that had no knowledge of who I was nor did it have any care of sympathy towards me. It took enough guessing, but with my own ingenuity I was lead towards the Inn. Too bad when I was there the morn had came and there there was no Caravan... no Aunt and Uncle waiting for me.

I walked outside the gates, in a panic and I asked all that where around. They said the Caravan that had come was in a rush to leave towards its next destination as it was late on its schedule. Now I assume Aunt and Uncle where in a rush as well to catch it and their human minds did not register that I was not among them.

So now I'm here...a place to go....and but no idea to where it is at. And now I have done all this writing and I still haven't come with a solution. What a waist of time!

Interval 1: Thoughts of a lonely girl; losing hope as well as Innocence

Hope dies....
Thoughts take over....
Did they forget? Did they stop caring?

No...that's unlike them. That is against their ways.
Nothing would stop them from finding me. Nothing! I am their little girl, not of blood but of heart and love. They would traverse the corners of Fae'run to find me, right? Of course they would...I know this.

But days passing...I can't help but feel it. The time is weighing down on me and I'm so..oh so...alone. I should be patient...I know I should be patient. Its the ways of my kin, of the elves.

But somehow...I can't. Perhaps I'm losing it? Perhaps I truly am going crazy. Did I really see wyrmlings the other day? Did I really see a demon?

Could that mage stop time as he claimed he could?

Oh gods....what have I gotten myself into...

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
I do not have any questions to ask at this time.

Everything so far has been very helpful and this application has been very entertaining for me to fill out.

Hello ZeusComplex! I'm Loxmardin and it's my pleasure to welcome you to Conquest of the Horde!

If you haven't already, I'd suggest that you double-check the rules and policies of the server on our very own CotH Wiki. If you have any questions, you should consult the Wiki and the available subforums which contain a fair bit of information ("Forum: Search" is your friend!) first but you are of course always welcome to contact a GM if you can't find what you're looking for, or ask on the forums!

Have fun, enjoy your stay and see you in-game!

Happy RPing!
