Background and Info (Warning: Long read):

Spoiler:
Personality: In many ways Drongo is a very stereotypical ogre, who lives mainly to eat, fight and eat some more. Through lasting contact to “civilized society” while working as a goblin bodyguard, he has learned not to act on his urges and impulses (most of the time). As long as he is well-fed, he will usually remain calm and docile.

History: Drongo was born shortly after the end of the second war, deep within the Dustbelch Grotto in the northern part of the Badlands. The orcs crushing defeat had meant that all ogres were now free from the cruel oppression they endured since the opening of the first portal. Drongo was, as a result of these events, one of the first free ogres to be born in Azeroth. He grew up loved and well cared for, which by ogre standards meant frequent beatings and a constant fight over whatever food was available. Being neither the strongest nor most ferocious of his many brethren, it was hunger that forced Drongo from the grotto on a particularly warm January morning. The warm air prickled his tough hide as he trotted through the red sand, kicking the sun-bleached bones that for almost a half a mile lay strewn as a warning to dwarves and other beasts that: “Here be ogres”.

Perhaps it was delirium from the lack of food and water that had lead Drongo to chase a wounded wolf into a crag that proved to be a dead end, and perhaps it was his rumbling gut that made him ignore the warning signs of the trap he was about to fall into. But regardless of the circumstances he was taken completely by surprise as an entire pack of wolves attacked him in a flurry of teeth, claws and savage howls.

The ogre, though weak from hunger and thirst put up as fierce fight, and soon the crushed bodies of several wolves lay at his feet. But despite his best efforts there were just too many to handle, and Drongo had suffered deep wounds from the beastly maws. What happened next came as an, if possible, even bigger surprise to the ogre than the wolves had been. Seemingly from out of nowhere, a small man now stood outlined against the bright afternoon sky, casting a long shadow against the walls of the narrow crag. “Why dontcha pick on someone your own size” he had said in a gruff voice, and before Drongo could even utter a badly composed sentence, a shiny boomstick had made short work of the remaining wolves.

The small man turned out to be a goblin who introduced himself as “Serious” Bitsnizz Jinglepocket, purveyor of fine goods” who had been en-route to the horde settlement of Kargath when he had heard the roars and howls from the nearby crag. Drongo introduced himself as “Drongo”, to which he had received an overbearing grin and a shake of a green head. The goblin treated Drongo's wounds and even parted with a succulent hog shank which the starving ogre gobbled up so fast that he would likely have choked on the bone if it hadn't been for his strong teeth crushing it to smithereens. Once the carnage was over Drongo came to realize that the small funny man with the large nose had in fact saved his life, and though he had barely known the goblin for a full hour he still swore him a life-debt as any honorable ogre would do (at the prospect of regular meals)

Jinglepocket had turned out to be more than willing to accommodate Drongo with food and drink in return for his services as a bodyguard. Drongo knew of this concept from his home in the Dustbelch grotto where members of the horde would occasionally approach with similar offers, often to be chased away or beaten severely afterwards. And yet in his mind, taking orders from a tiny green man with a magic death stick was preferable to returning to the uncertain struggle of the grotto, and a deal was made with a hearty handshake. And that was the first time Drongo accidentally broke someone's hand.
From that day forward the two were inseparable. Jinglepockets shrewd financial gambles made plenty of gold, while Drongos intimidating presence meant that the goblin could expand his trade into caravans without having to deal with any but the most courageous of highwaymen. And although Drongo never saw a single copper of the “Serious” Bitsnizz venture, he was happier than ever as food was always nearby and plentiful. In time he came to think of the goblin as the closest an ogre would likely ever have to a friend, and as a result never thought twice about protecting his little buddy from any and all danger the dynamic duo faced.

But then came the day when the dynamic duo became a sad solo, when Drongo and Bitsnizz arrived in the pirate town of Booty Bay to discuss with a Cartel emissary the matter of a large sum of Cartel earmarked money which had been grossly misappropriated while in Bitsnizz's possession, long before he had employed Drongo. While Drongo waited outside the Salty Sailor Tavern (which was quite frankly too narrow for his ever-expanding frame), Bitsnizz sat down with the emissary to discuss his future within the cartel over a drink. A drink which, true to goblin customs was laced with sleeping powder. Bitsnizz had of course expected his drink to be spiked, but had not factored in the sudden appearance of a blackjack that seconds later sent him swirling to the floor as far from conscious as one might possible be. In order to avoid the wrath of the Drongo sitting outside the rickety tavern, the bribed bruisers plopped the unconscious Bitsnizz in a barrel of pickled eels and rolled him right past his trusty bodyguard and onto a ship bound for the island of Kezan, and the judgment of the Goblin Princes who ruled there.

Drongo waited for nearly an hour but was eventually overcome by hunger, and stole from a fish stall to satiate his cravings. After a half-hearted attempt at booting the ogre access to Booty Bay for his infraction, the bruisers decided to let him stay and wait for his compatriot, on the condition that he found his food outside or paid for it like everyone else. Perhaps the Bay authorities figured that they would rather have the ogre sulk around forever than to risk dismemberment and/or serious losses of profit as a result of barring him access and having him realize what had happened to his friend.

Time to consider introducing a trio of ogres. Still interested in playing this character?

Hello Kretol! I've been away from WoW for a while, university work and such. Found time somewhat limited, even during this vacation. And after the forum overhaul I haven't spent much time on it either (small fonts and dark colors is havoc on my eyes). I was unaware that ogres were being introduced a while ago, but I am every bit as keen on playing this character as I was the day I thought it up.

However I will soon be leaving for England as an exchange student for an extended period of time, and I will have to see if my laptop can handle wow even on the lowest settings. If not, it would be best not to have this character created until I can give it the time and attention it deserves. I have no intentions of letting the character become one of those special model profiles which is barely played, after all.

Thank you!
