No more Rep - "Like" again!

Since the new reputation system wasn't really being used (and I think folks were apprehensive about using it), I re-implemented a 'Like' system again for a per-post basis. Thanks go to Dusk for creating images for it! :D

Huzzah, old system is back. <3 I love you Kretol.

I mean.

/brofist Lok'Tar.

And yes Uth, soon the shoutbox will be named "The wall." where you can post things on, and you'll be able to play a new edition of Farmville through CotH called Orcville. The goal of the game is to have as much Orc's running over your screen as possible, and spamclick any alliance figures coming up to kill them.

.. It shall be great.

Yep, it works good and I Like it. And props to Dusk for his handiwork.
The true test of his choice lies forward.

What? Why the sudden change?

To be honest, this new forum system is like... a week or less old now? It hasn't had the proper time to be fully tested and explored. In a week's time, people or still seeing the new changes and getting used to it.

The Rep thing was simply railed against on a slippery slope argument. Everything said against it was going on the assumption that it would turn into a popularity contest/war. They assume that it'll eventually turn into people rating up their friends and rating down people they don't like.

Couldn't you already do that with the current system? Can't you just like/thank every post your friend's make, regardless of what it says? The point of the Rep system isn't to show how much everyone likes you on the forums, but to show that you're capable of producing useful posts.

Getting rated down doesn't mean that you're disliked or that the post is bad. It just means the voter doesn't agree with it and doesn't see it fit to being a top post. With this server, shouldn't people be capable enough of rating things with the worry or want of getting revenge for a down rate?

Even then, so what if you get rated down? It's the internet. Just look at why it was rated down and move on. It's not that big a deal.

While I agree that the rep system may have been more useful (with folks posting negative or non-constructive posts getting appropriate feedback), it just didn't see as much use as the likes. That, and the latter system is easier to use and results are immediately seen on the posts.
That, and Grak was complaining about being unable to 'Like' a particular post by folks. ;)

Yay, a 'Like' system. I've always, when looking around forums, had the urge to press "like" on them, just like on Facebook.

That means you're whipped, Kretol. /insertsoundofawhipcracking

In all seriousness though, I don't think either of the features are incredibly useful but I would have preferred rep over likes but that's just me.
