Hello everyone, my name is Kyle, and this is my intro!
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
Well, as a player, I'm in the game for the lore. Ever since I learned how to write, I've had a passion for creating stories, and then acting them out whether it was through action figures, friends, or even just imagining them. So a few years ago when I picked up World of Warcraft at a local BestBuy, I quickly found there were thousands like me; people who would collaborate and create such elaborate stories, and then act them out through the characters in game. I soon became obsessed with the concept; an infinite world, an infinite amount of story possibilities, access to almost any item and any environment, it was literally my get away. However, this was all in retail, and then $15 a month became too expensive, as I didn't have a job at the time (I was 13). So I moved onto private servers. From there I scouted out dedicated RP servers, as the rest were filled with arrogant PvP obsessed douchebags (I like PvP and all, but when you target RP guilds because you think it's funny, then it's straight annoying).
What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
I was born I Pittsburgh, PA, but currently reside in Columbus, OH. This being said, my primary language is English.
How did you get into Warcraft?:
I got started actually with the original Warcraft, then went through the expansions (a while after they came out). I finally moved on to World of Warcraft after I found it in a BestBuy, only months before TBC came out. But as I explained in the first question, I was hooked instantly.
What made you seek our server over others? (Or how did you find us?):
Basically I had been jumping from server to server, looking for a "safe" haven for RPers. I had played on WoW-Trance and Molten-WoW before hand, but became quickly annoyed when the arrogant PvPers would single out RP guilds, simply because they thought it was fun. After Cataclysm came out, it was hard to find any servers that weren't all about raiding, with the new dungeons and all. So eventually after searching for a bit, I stumbled upon this server, and even yet it appears to be exactly what I'm looking for.
What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
I'm a little bit of it all. As I mentioned I enjoy writing, and this being the case, I'm always coming up with different ideas, which sometimes may require only one other person, or may require some sort of all out battle.
What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
My favorite race is between the Night Elves, and the Dwarves. Yes I know that this server is called, "Conquest of the Horde," however, I do prefer the alliance races. My favorite class is also a tie up between the hunter, and the rogue. I love the hunter because as implied by the name, they are all about the hunt. Using their superior knowledge of the wild, they can stalk, hunt, and kill their pray with almost no effort needed. I like the rogue though, because they are about stealth; similar to the hunter, they are in it for the stalking, but instead of chasing down their prey, they use any environment to their advantage, whether it be a dark alley, a shadowy corner, a high roof, etc... Also rogues take a more personal approach, using close range weapons like daggers, knives, swords, and other hand to hand styles.
What are your expectations of this server?:
What I'm really hoping for is an active role playing community, that is creative, collaborative, and over-all just fun.
Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
I really enjoy the, "All players on this server are expected to be familiar with the history of Azeroth." rule under the "Role Playing" category. I love it simply because on any other server I've attempted to RP on, somebody would always take the plot of a movie, one time specifically a kid who couldn't have been any older than twelve, tried to reenact Rambo... So the fact that in order to be accepted you must be knowledgeable of the games lore, is very relieving.
Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
If it is at all possible, I would like to type it in a word processor of some sort, because I can already say it will be fairly lengthy. If allowed, I intend on posting it later today.
Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
As of now there is nothing I need to ask or say, but if I am ever inclined to do so, I will.
