Ryos Introduction
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
I like to play protagonists with a troubled past. I tend to grow towards kinder, gentle rolls that will step up when the time is needed, but would much rather wait until they are certain for sure that there is no one else to do so. I like having character flaws; having an incredible overpowered and important character loses its flare once you start to get into actual adult RP (not to be confused with ERP, which I will not do.) I enjoy RP and take it very seriously meaning that, if you attempt to troll me or spin me some story that your worgen was once a night else that bred with a tauren and then had a troll baby, I won't be responding. That being said, I will give you (the person I am RPing with) my full experience if you are able to meet me half way and RP as much as I do

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?
United States, Illinois. English

How did you get into Warcraft?:
Been playing WoW sense launch. I played other MMO's in the past, but none had the appeal and allure that WoW did. Like all players, I have taken my breaks but have always found my way back to Azeroth.

What made you seek our server over others? (Or how did you find us?):
Cataclysm was a vast disappointment for me. White the story and the world were visually stimulating, the endgame experience (something that I was very into) turned out to be sub-par to say the least. Some of my favorite times have been due to RP and I would like to get back into a server that takes it as seriously as I do

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
I really enjoy dramatic RP. This is not to be confused with constantly running around looking for things to hack and slice apart. I like to RP more on a personal level, building character and story rather than how strong and powerful my character is. In my opinion, I believe that successful RP should be about character development/story, world-building and character interactions.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
I have always enjoyed the Alliance when I RP. Though I have had a few successful horde RP stories, it seems that they are always more difficult to come across. Night Elves and Humans are obviously the easiest, but sometimes that is not always fun to the easiest thing. Draenei are very limited in their lore and what they can do, so I enjoy the challenge of building a Draenei character. Gnomes are few and far between when it comes to serious RP, so I enjoy doing that as well. Everyone has seen the Human Paladin or the Night Elf Hunter. That is no fun. What is fun is attempting to successfully do something that is new and exciting (still abiding by the rules of Warcraft Lore, that is) that will make other players want to engage in deep and diverse RP

What are your expectations of this server?:
I want to be able to RP with other people who enjoy it as much as myself, while still being able to run an instance or two if the need should arise. I want to get into a deep evolving story with many people/guilds that would develop my character rather than have it preset as something.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
The grammar rules and the anti-Sue rules. Regulation (while not going overboard) key to getting successful RP going and keeping it going strong.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:

Ryos stood on the edge of the cliffs of the Redridge Mountains. He looked over the valley, taking in the one moment of impossible beauty. The trees rustled innocently against the soft breeze which kissed his cheek. The gryphons flew above the clearing peacefully. He always admired the gryphons; their beauty, their passion, their freedom. He closed his eyes. Immediately, he saw her face. His wife, his beloved Tephra staring back at him; Her long amber hair flowing in the breeze that cooled him beneath his robes. She turned to look at him, smiling gently. As her mouth opened to speak, a gryphon flew overhead. The rushing of its mighty wings jerked Ryos back into reality. He looked up and watched the creature soaring majestically across the valley.

Ryos reached into his robes and pulled out the small locket around his neck. The golden circle shimmered brightly in the setting sun. He held it tightly in his hand, thinking of her. A single tear inched its way down his cheek. He couldn't hold back the tears anymore. Silently, he stood there watching the creatures soar across the world. After what felt like a lifetime, he made up his mind. He ripped the locked off of his neck forcefully. Opening it, he saw Tephra's beautiful face staring back at him smiling sweetly. An etched engraving was neatly carved into the other side of the locket. Ryos ran his fingers across the words "I will wait for you. Will you wait for me?"

He closed the locket and held it close to his chest. Slowly, he began to walk towards the cliff, his robes fluttering silently against the red dirt. Ryos reached the edge and paused. "The valley was so beautiful" he thought, "Tephra would have loved it here" Ryos took a deep breath, closed his eyes and leaned forward.

He saw her reaching out for him at the top of the edge of the cliff yelling his name, but he couldn't hear her. The rushing of the wind in his ears drowned out all sound. Her hair looked so real; her figure was clearer than ever, but it did not matter. Ryos had been tricked by his mind before; he would not let it happen again.

Then he saw it. As he hurtled towards his final moments on this earth, the locket that she wore dangled from her neck. The twin to his. He reached out his hand to grab hers, but it was so far away. Her figure faded as he fell.

--

The woman ran quickly to the heap on the ground. The tears had not stopped falling from her face. She dropped to the side of the man that had just fallen. Her hands moved slowly over his body, hovering over him. She began to say complex prayers in Kaledori, concentrating hard. Seconds passed by. Minutes. Hours. She could do nothing but sit and continue to pray to Elune for help, for anything,

Finally, after what seemed like days, she stopped praying. Lifting her hands away from him, she turned to his face. His eyes were shut and his mouth was hanging open slightly. Looking at him, it would be impossible to tell if he was sleeping or not. Tephra curled her hands into tight fists and began to pound them hard on his body, sobbing uncontrollably against him. After minutes of this, she collapsed, crying against his lifeless form.

The lockets were inches away, almost identical in shape and form. One read "I will wait for you. Will you wait for me?" and had the picture of a beautiful Kaledori woman with Amber hair and a soft smile. The other had a picture of a man, the man which Tephra now cried endlessly on. This locket too had an inscription. The words were few, but clear.

"Yes, my love. I will."

Hello there Keddej, and welcome to CotH.

If you haven't done so yet, it's worth glancing over our Wiki to take a look at the rules, see our guidelines for making a character and perhaps even look over a few approved profiles while you're there. I waste far too much time reading as it is, and I still like to browse it every once in a while.

Thank you for writing a story! 'Twas a pleasure to read through.

I hope you enjoy your time here. Do feel free to PM me if you have any further queries. I'll try and answer to the best of my ability.
