A Guide to the Drugs and Inebriates
Currently Sold By Argus Wake

Preface: I do not condone the real life use of drugs. My brother suffered for years through addiction. Drugs are bad and their effects on lives are even worse.

But role-playing is all about choice. As such, we give you the option to role-play your characters' addiction or use of inebriates and narcotics.

Keep drug use to RP. This thread is not to motivate nor encourage people to use drugs.

In our quest for glory and influence we stumbled upon a very humble -and very common- difficulty: Funding. No matter the strength of our conviction, we will still be bogged down through lack of funding.

To solve such a base difficulty, Argus Wake began to manufacture and distribute drugs and alcohol through erstwhile channels. Money spent on the sale of these poisonous substances are used to fund Argus Wake businesses and activities.

Below is a list of the current drugs and inebriates sold by Argus Wake and its affiliates.

Ritz
Spoiler:
Alias: Cracker, Green, The Dip

Appearance: A clear liquid, tasteless and odorless.

Creation:The liquid is made artificially in an alchemist's lab. Lethal in its pure form, the liquid is rendered safe for consumption when it is applied to tobacco leaves. The leaves are then dried, further diluting the chemical to a safe level.

Packaging: Ritz is sold exclusively alongside tobacco leaves. It is sold in either a raw tobacco pouch, plain silver dip canisters, hand-rolled cigars, thin black cigarettes or pipe filling.

Type: Psychoactive inhalant.

Uses: Ritz is inhaled through the smoking of tobacco, where it flows through the lungs and into the bloodstream.

Effects: Upon inhalation the drug causes muscle relaxation within only a few seconds. It causes relaxation, the feeling of mild euphoria and other effects similar to use of marijuana.

Highs last up to thirty minutes after last inhalation.

Addiction:No signs of addiction are fist visible. Someone could quit the drug easily after the first few days. The drug would only start to get addicting after a weeks or more use. At that point, the more they take in, the more addicting it becomes. Eventually when it hits around one month of straight use, the drug will have a great hold upon the users mind of addiction. It becomes a 'I need this to feel normal/good/unstressed/healthy' drug.

Withdrawals include muscle cramps, extreme depression, chest pain, poor eyesight, sweating and loss of appetite. Those of good health cannot die of withdrawals.

Cost: 15 - 30 silver per pouch.

Blue Shot
Spoiler:
Alias: Runner, Flash, Sky, Day Tripper, Sweetness

Appearance: Blue Shot is sold in a gaseous form. It has a sweet odor and, when inhaled, leaves an after-taste of sweetness on the tongue.

Creation: <Argus Wake Secret>

Packaging: Blue Shot is sold exclusively in small, cheap tin inhalers. The mouthpiece is unpainted, while the canister is painted sky blue. Each canister bears the inscription 'AW' on the top.

Each inhaler holds enough for one hit.

Type: Methamphetamine

Uses: The drug is inhaled orally or nasally. No other way has yet been found to administer it.

The gas passes into the lungs, where it enters the bloodstream through the lungs.

Effects: Upon inhaling, effects set in after twenty seconds. Effects include euphoria, alertness, increased concentration, increased energy, increased self-esteem, increased self-confidence, sociability, delusions of grandiosity, hallucinations, excessive feelings of power and invincibility and obsessive behaviors.

Lasts for one hour.

Addiction: Addiction happens quickly. It begins on a mental level, with the brain's natural abilities to experience joy and confidence shutting down. Without continued use a deep depression will settle on the user. A decrease in alertness and mental ability will also follow.

Withdrawals include extreme depression, loss of appetite, loss of focus, lethargy, muscle cramps, dental decay, madness, extreme paranoia and painful headaches. Those of good health can die of withdrawals.

Cost: 10 - 20 silver

Maritini
Spoiler:
Alias: Demon Drink, Acid, Paint Thinner, Marianna Cocktail, Gold Dust

Appearance: A deep, caramel-colored beverage. The beverage often contains small gold shavings, too miniscule to be worth anything and pose any harm when swallowed.

The beverage has a sweet acidic smell to it. When consumed, it initially has a caustic and sickeningly sweet taste that causes the sensation of burning, much like normal whiskey. After consumption, however, there is a soothing aftertaste, where the liquid cools the mouth and throat.

Creation: The usual process of creating single malt whiskey. The whiskey is made from grain treated with chemicals and drugs to give it an extra punch. The mash is further treated with the acid from Gold Power Cores, which gives it its tell-tale sweetness along with the gold flakes, before being blended with further chemicals and Elemental Water.

Packaging: Maritini is sold in 8 oz. glass or tin flasks. Each flask is engraved with a skull bordered by two wings. The number '46' is usually engraved above the skull, with the words 'Gold Standard' below.

Type: Alcohol.

Uses: The beverage is alcoholic in nature and is consumed in the same way.

Effects: The beverage has an alcohol content of 52%, or 104-proof. It causes inebriation after three sips of an untrained drinker and inebriation after ten sips of a trained drinker.

The beverage, like all alcohol, depresses the system and causes lower motor function.

Addiction: Addiction is on par with normal alcoholic beverages.

Cost: 20 - 30 silver

My wife and I are going through this with our combined families, I concur.
The true test of his choice lies forward.
