Operation: Guardian

Date: [[ Saturday, September 17 2011; 4:00 Server Time ]]

Operational Zone: Dun Morogh

Briefing

‘Commander Kuraine Firebrand‘ Wrote:Turns out our run in with those Dark Iron flights on our last training flight wasn't a fluke, soldiers.

Intelligence from our scouting planes has revealed some suspicious ground activity around our homeland of Dun Morogh. Our own AWACS has been picking up stray transmissions, as well-- highly encoded. We've broken a few which lead us to suspect that there may be multiple insurgents on high activity, particularly around civilian settlements and our local quarry operations. Earlier today we had a high alert around the Amberstill Ranch after a bomb was discovered on the premises, and we're expecting there's more.

We've alerted the local guard patrols and units, and most of the targeted regions should be cleared by our time of arrival; we're expecting fierce resistance from the high-ground on the valley roads, so be on the lookout for snipers when you're in transit.

We're dispatching any and all willing arms alongside Captain Charmlight and Lieutenant Gedrin, for aerial cover. Keep the captain safe, and make sure that any and all Dark Iron weaponry is disarmed and the area given an all-clear before you move on to the next. As is customary there will be a payment of seventy silver for participation in this operation, for the hired blades among you.

That's all, lads. Dismissed!

Objectives

-All clear given in Gol'bolar
-All clear given in Anvilmar

-Region fully secured.

Operation: Hunters

Date: [[ Thursday, September 22 2011; 2:00 Server Time ]]

Operational Zone: Dun Morogh Woodlands

Briefing

‘Alliance Central Command‘ Wrote:Good evening soldiers.

Recent incursions into Dwarven lands have prompted the influx of Alliance troops, to ensure the stability of our northern allies. Dark Iron involvement in the region has been deemed a high threat, and as such has warranted a full military response. Due to the nature of the forces involved, this briefing has been sent directly from the new central command station established upon the Ironforge Airfield.

Sweeps of the immediate surroundings in Dun Morogh have yielded little substantial interest. Dark Iron encampments have gone unseen as of now, and their insurgents remain as elusive as ever. Late last night however there were sightings of suspicious figures reported near the nearby town of Kharanos, at a workshop known as Steelgrill's Depot. This workshop is an important producer of Alliance technological weaponry; any damage sustained is damage sustained to our armies abroad at this point.

Movement of unknown figures in the woodlands directly in and around Kharanos has increased. We have reason to believe that these insurgents are either actively working within the workshop or attempting to subvert it by external means such as bombs. Due to the high-risk nature of this operation we will be assigning different units to different locations, hopefully preventing incoming flows of enemy troops to Steelgrill's.

Here is your deployment information.

Objectives

-Operational space sanitized of enemy action.
-Protect Steelgrill's outpost.

Operation: n/a

Date: [[ Saturday, September 24 2011; 4:00 Server Time ]]

Operational Zone: Eastern Dun Morogh

Briefing

Alliance Central Command Wrote:A code red alert has been issued within the station of Steelgrill's Depot and its immediate surroundings, including the city of Kharanos. All able and willing combatants are to report to the eastern road leading to Loch Modan for immediate deployment.

A recent breach in our security allowed the capture of an experimental piece of Alliance siege weaponry, known as the Enforcer Command Center (ECC), a large mobile arsenal of volatile weapons and heavy duty plating. Since its capture by Dark Iron engineers we have received nonstop radio broadcasts from the crew, who seem to be either unable or incompetent in ceasing radio transmission over the experimental device's controls. They also seem unable to force the automatic lock on the entry hatch open. As such, we've learned that the ECC has sustained heavy damage thanks to the heroic actions of the Firebrand Brigade and their mercenary compatriots during its initial escape. While it has damaged the craft beyond salvaging by normal means, their attack has subverted the enemy's grasp on this new machinery.

Attempts have been made to destroy the rampaging ECC, and we have lost three flight teams in this endeavor. The ECC has sustained great damages though, and seems to be on its last legs. Earlier today though we received word that the original creators of the ECC have launched a homing beacon in attempts to discern the location of the machine, and hopefully deactivate it. They were unaware of its current state, though, and in doing so have placed the city of Kharanos, along with Steelgrill's Depot, in immediate danger of complete and total annihilation at the hands of the rampaging ECC.

There is little margin for error today. Whether you are in the skies or in battle below, good luck. The ECC is still highly dangerous, and its ammo reserves are far from exhausted. A complete safe return cannot be ensured.

Engineering Division Wrote:The Enforcer Command Center has few primary weak points. Among them are the exhaust pipes lining the machine and the central gearbox on top of the machine-- it should still be ajar since it wasn't bolted in place when the hijacking commenced.

Among the ECCs arsenal of anti-air and anti-ground missiles and other machinery is an advanced combat-ready artificial intelligence, which at this point seems to have overtaken the current dark iron insurgents and is now acting berift of their commands. As such it has full access to its entire arsenal, and is likely attempting to perform quick-fix repairs when idle. We calculate that, combined with previous attacks and the recent bombing attempts on the ECC, this is your best window of opportunity in stopping this machine.

Good luck.

Alliance Central Command Wrote:Alliance Central Command would like to express their gratitude to all who fought in the defense of the Dun Morogh township of Kharanos and the workshop of Steelgrill's Depot.

Many lives were lost on the defensive line to the rogue machine, and the Dark Irons are still an ongoing threat to the region. Thanks to your efforts though, we stand strong still against their insidious intentions. For the bravery of those both living and deceased who took part in this operation, Central Command has issued a medal commemorating the sacrifice of the men and woman who were responsible for the destruction of the Enforcer Command Center siege vehicle.

Below are the names of those who are to receive this distinguished award.

Operation: Voices

Date: [[ Tuesday, September 27 2011; 2:00 Server Time ]]

Operational Zone: Eastern Dun Morogh

Briefing

‘Commander Kuraine Firebrand Wrote:I almost missed writing these, lads. Listen up.

Earlier this morning we picked up some stray transmissions from Eastern Dun Morogh. Analyisis and decription reveals it to be code from dark iron insurgents below, communicating further movements between themselves on an unstable and fragile connection.

We cut them off, we weaken their grip on this region. We're dispatching to hunt down and destroy these improvised transmitters. We're expecting rough roads, but it'll be worth it to bring down their network of command. Without these lines of communication they'll be running blind, and they don't know the terrain; their scouting flights will be useless.

There's a possibility this may lead to their hideout as well. If you get a sight on it, don't advance- we need to be prepared. Signal for someone to check the airspace, and then get out of there. Let's have a safe return.

‘Major Persephone Charmlight‘ Wrote:These Dark Iron transmitters are crudely made, obviously set up with little time or materials to do so. Because of this their designs are rather fragile. To remedy this the Dark Irons have hidden them in barrels partially sunken into the snow; Hopefully they haven't been covered by the recent snowstorms, or your assignment may be more difficult than first anticipated.

Good luck.

Operation: Breaking Point [Aerial Mission]

Date: [[ Thursday, September 29 2011; 4:00 Server Time ]]

Operational Zone: Wetlands; Menethil Harbor

Briefing

‘Commander Kuraine Firebrand‘ Wrote:Bad news lads; we’re on open war now. Our little group of insurgents isn’t the only Dark Iron force on our plate.

Early this morning Dark Iron forces were spotted on the move from the Cauldron, in the Searing Gorge. We suspected troop movement even earlier, and we got our confirmation just recently. Within a few hours of our sighting three bombers carrying high-explosive surface-to-air missiles flanked by teams of escort stratofighters flew over the port city of Menethil Harbor, sending the town into chaos with a swift barrage. They struck key tactical locations, including the improvised runway and the main defensive battery for the city. Because of this, Menethil is in deep trouble. A few fighters have made it up in the wreckage, but they aren’t enough to hold off the enemy.

The Alliance gunships stationed at dock in the port and the remaining ground defenses are doing their best to suppress further damage, and regional command has rolled in its big guns to aid in the battle. We’re going to be going in as well.

Hoped you trained up on your wings, lads. We’re dealing with the real thing now.

Operation: Guiding Hand [Aerial Mission]

Date: [[ Thursday, October 6 2011; 4:00 Server Time ]]

Operational Zone: Dun Morogh Border

Briefing

‘Commander Kuraine Firebrand‘ Wrote:Evening lads and lasses.

Preparations for our attack on the Dark Iron basecamp in Dun Morogh are currently underway. The Dark Irons have managed to stall us by limiting port access to Menethil Harbor, but we have word that temporary repairs from the last attack will be finished in time to assist in the oncoming battle.

All isn’t quiet on our end though. Earlier today a lone aircraft was spotted skirting our border from the sea. It was moving slow and bound away, so not much thought was paid to it. Again and again it seems to be reemerging though, and some sightings identify it as an AWACS compatible craft. The higher ups speculate a spy plane or a mobile transmitter for the Dark Iron’s use.

Attempts to reach the pilot from the ground have resulted in nothing but silence. We’re sending you all and Gedrin up in order to assess the situation and ground this plane. We aren’t expecting much resistance as it seems relatively unarmed and too large to outmaneuver your machines, but stay frosty. We want all of our heroes present for the final battle.

Dismissed!

Operation: Wrath [Siege Mission]

Date: [[ Friday, October 7 2011; 2:00PM Server Time ]]

Operational Zone: Dun Morogh Border; Cindergrip Airfield

Briefing

‘Commander Kuraine Firebrand‘ Wrote:Evening soldiers.

Yesterday at around 0500 hours a flight of some of our best men and women were engaged in a surprise attack, drawn out by a Dark Iron jammer aircraft. Amongst the fighting one of the Firebrand’s most honored and battle-worthy pilots was taken down, and has assumedly ejected overhead of the enemy airfield.

We will retrieve him.

The Cindergrip Airfield was an airstrip set up by the Dark Irons, and overtaken by the Alliance for a short time span. It was put to use for flight control in the region until the creation of the Ironforge Airfield, when the closer location and relative safety of the new airfield rendered the Cindergrip Airstrip obsolete. It was decommissioned and left in disrepair after a Dark Iron bombing run leveled many of its primary structures and left only the sturdiest fortifications standing.

As it turns out, the Dark Irons have retaken Cindergrip for their own use, and have been repairing it and arming it while the current conflict has been ongoing with their scouting forces in Dun Morogh. Not only have they been employing it as a quick staging ground for blitz attacks on Dun Morogh, but a report from the field yesterday revealed that there is a heavy contingent of enemy bombers present, and with Kharanos and the Ironforge Airfield a stone’s throw away there is a significant chance of a critical strike upon our armed forces.

As Cindergrip has a vital strategic position in terms of defense for the Dark Iron insurgency base camp, we’ve obtained permission from command to bring the place down. The Thunderhead Airship has been assigned to us along with a reserve of parachute-capable light assault tanks. We’re going to tear this airfield apart and rescue our flight lead.

Dismissed. Come back in one piece.

Operation: Foebreaker [Siege Mission]

Date: [[ Tuesday, October 11 2011; 2:00PM Server Time ]]

Operational Zone: Dun Morogh; Ironband’s Compound

Briefing

‘Alliance Central Command‘ Wrote:Good morning troops.

At 1400 hours we will begin an assault on the encroaching enemy which has been sowing the seeds of chaos in our land of Dun Morogh. In this month of ignited conflict we have lost many good men and women in our fight for our people and the future of our homeland. The skies have been clouded and streaked by fire and smoke, and the ground crushed underfoot of the enemies and their machines of war.

They have caused damages to both our pride and our people, and they have even stolen the identities of our valiant soldiers for their own insidious purposes. Today, we will reclaim it all and return this damage tenfold. In the southeast of Dun Morogh lies Ironband’s Compound, a structure which has housed our enemy during their continued efforts to destabilize this region. With Cindergrip Airstrip under our control once more the Dark Iron forces there have been rendered almost completely defenseless in terms of aerial capabilities, reduced to what few gyrocopters they have managed to ferry over the border. Regardless we still expect fierce ground resistance, and our scouting reports have found tanks and other fortifications built up for the incoming attack.

We are unsure of the approximate number of enemy troops in this region, but we have no reason to give any quarter. We will deliver a crushing blow to our foe, and drive them out of this region.

All is ready. It is time to end this.

Dismissed.

‘Commander Kuraine Firebrand‘ Wrote:Time for the grand finale, isn’t it?

This mission means a lot to us all. It’s an honor to have you present, soldiers. You’ve heard the semantics by now, so let’s get to the business.

We will be approaching Ironband from the western flank, in from the Gol’Bolar Quarry. We will advance in units of tanks from the sides, letting the main charge be taken by those on foot who are able to traverse the ice without the difficulty of weight. Our goal is clear; to breach the compound and deal a final blow to whoever is in charge of this operation.

I have the utmost confidence in you all. Do us proud.
