I was originally gonna post this to laugh at somones siggy, but now i think i will laugh at the irony of the situation.

Haha! Your power went out just as you were trying to update the server.

Kinda reminds me of my water mains breaking. I had JUST gotten my new fridge hooked up to the waterlines Beat Up

Damn it Kretol. I pay a subscription fee for -this- kind of service?

Well, you can certainly expect no more of them. Hmph.

At least you weren't flashing the bios, though I would suspect you have a decent UPS on the server rack for when a brown-out happens.

I do have a UPS for that computer... But for some reason, it didn't actually help. Server shut off right as the power went out.

So, any expectation when you'll get the power back/server will get back up?

I'd just like to point this out.

Everyone who didn't want the restart to happen. LOOK AT WHAT YOU'VE DONE.

...Just kidding.

But seriously, though. This is the sort of set-up one would expect from a movie. If you suddenly find yourself stuck on an raining island with people making love in the open, RUN! Odds are there's a monster after you.

Uth, it's raining here. Crap. I hope there's no promiscuous teens around. At least I'm not on an island.

Probably the software on the UPS. I have one on my computer it plugs into a USB port and when the power goes out it tells the computer to wrap it up, and shutdown. Probably what happened with yours, once the power went out it told the server to shutdown in an effort to save the progress.

Depends on the model, and brand of UPS you installed on it.

It is funny because the most likely thing to happen next is this:

By the time the server comes back up, the person who went to bed, because he's from my lovely [and now at 05:24am] timezone, will wake up already, but it is also likely that despite the nocturnal nature of the other two [three, actually, but I have little knowledge of who mysterious number 3 is.], they will succumb to the luxurious sleep. And then the RP will be stopped, anyway.

I find it funny because I just sat 4 hours on the computer instead of sleeping, hoping to get some RP :<

Also: @Razial - My sig is bigger. And I would like to read your book/story, as I, too, dabble with writing.

Stinky Ork take a bath! Joking aside hope you get the power back on, it can be a pain for those who live outside the city in rural areas.

What a great idea, thanks!
