Feedback, you say?

Hello! I know I haven't necessarily RPed with a lot of you but, since I've at least been active again lately, I was wondering what you all think of me and, more importantly, my RP.

My characters that have been RPed recently-ish:
-Franziska: The loveable, dead Elf that hasn't managed to gain any real enemies yet.

-Nivandra: The rather inactive, ignorant Draenei that hasn't even left the Exodar and its surroundings yet.

-Arrivan: The undead on a quest for glory... Or just on a wild goose chase.

And last but not least,
-Shawnee: The rich, distrusting, yet strangely awesome Gnome who mainly seems worried about staying alive in a world that is obviously not made for her.

Feel free to comment. The good, the bad and the somethings inbetween. One can never receive enough tips in order to improve.

Anyway! I have RPed with your character Franziska, not only in the Ash Wardens guild but also way back when The Pride still existed and I have to say you are great RPer. I always liked Franziska's character, the quiet sort of intimidating but at the same time friendly Deathknight which also seems to have a slight sense of humor.

Unfortunately... Or fortunately, I honestly can't think of anything you need to improve, you are a pleasant person to RP with.

Franziska: The wall she manages to hide behind is remarkable. If I were you I'm not sure how I would keep myself from bursting out already. She is genuine in her actions, fears, hopes and dreams despite being undead. I think you have solid grasp of the character and role-play her with epic continuity.

Nivandra: We've RP'ed before yes? On my Dwarf? Seems legit.

Shawnee: I know nothing of her Warlockery past. Why is she even one to begin with? No, I'm not going to her profile page. She's never cast a spell since I've been around her. Even Valda dips down into the extremes for survival. (Event with giant infernal) Her drive for survival outpaces Valda, which is remarkable, and is a true coward. Quit trying to class-change to Warrior! You know she is a Rogue, hiding in the shadows in fear for her life.

OOC: Thank you for living in a weird place, with an odd time-zone. I had all but given up on my hopes of RP with my strange second-shift work/sleep schedule. Since I've returned you've be a delight to chat with over Skype, IG-party and yes, even ICly. I enjoy our little events we run, as we take turns and gives the other person a break. You've made my week of vacation (Right now at it's end) a true pleasure to enjoy. The character development we share along-side each other will be some of my fondest memories from CotH. Hmm...

I definitely lack the history with Franziska others might have, and don't RP with her as much as others, so my view might be limited.

The main issue I can think of is sometimes she appears like a mopey teenager. At three hundred-and-some-odd years old. And as a Death Knight. And as an ex-sentinel. I get that socially, in such a long-lived race, that age might be what...twenties? But, still, kal'dorei mature at eighteen like every other race, or so sayeth CotH aging lore. And their culture is hard, especially on the women-folk.

Her burgeoning feelings for Kalah speak of a hormonal love-struck teenager that writes in a pink heart covered diary mostly. Maybe she's never had such feelings before, and perhaps her being a Death Knight muddles things. Understandable. Hey, 1,500-whatever year old Nuadon didn't know what she was doing/feeling for Anthrion most of the time.

I'll use examples to compare:

• Franziska sees Kalah gravely injured. Fran's reaction seems to be moping around, only vaguely reacting to comfort, then moping off to go listen to the kal'dorei version of Linkin Park. She blamed herself way beyond what made sense. Unless that's part of some guilt complex inherent in her status as a Death Knight...?
  
  
• Nudadon sees Anthrion gravely injured. Like any lover, she is worried. What'd he get his derp self into this time?! However, as her culture and age tell her, this is what happens as a sentinel. Despite her worry, she is proud to have such a mate that would take on such challenges. The situation is similar reversed, with Nuadon injured and Anthrion the on-looker/tender. Even in the midst of battle when either sees the other injured, they keep on going, both focused on the goal, and proud of each other in their work. Granted, we'll see if this keeps up if either actually die.

I'm just not seeing much of the kal'dorei sentinel in Franziska. Sure, she kicks butt, but at the same time she seems to have these melt-downs, and this malleability that I don't think fit a kal'dorei.

As well, I really didn't get the comparison/interaction between her and Valda (hi, Ural!). Redemption is a good story arc, but calling your commanding officer by his first name, and telling him to back off in front of warlock party-girls in the middle of Astranaar is not a move befitting a sentinel. At all. At least, not to me. It made my brow lift in confusion.

Perhaps Franziska is growing to accept that Kalah is a soldier, and I'm not seeing it. If so, great! Good progression. I just advise a little more dignity. You don't need to be the stony stoic all the time. But...dignity. Yeah.

Hope for more RP so I can see more for better feedback!

I'll definitely take this feedback to heart and see what I can do to improve upon this... Which should be quite a bit since Fran -is- my character!
