Arathi highlands: every inch of land
#1
The arathi highlands have long been a place of struggle between the alliance and the horde alike. While the arathi basin has been assaulted by the horde, another, less known area off the coast of the highlands has gone unnoticed. Until now, this land was neutral farmland, barely looked at. But with it's rich resource filled mountains to the west, the trees that dot the area, the fertile soil; the horde and the alliance are both fighting for every inch of land they can get from this area rich in resources.

The Alliance...

The Alliance forces of this area have recently bought out this farm from a neutral farmer. Before they could spread to the other half of the farm, the horde had built fortifications. The forces are under (Alliance leader), who had bought out the farm as a source of income. Coming in with laborers to harvest the minerals and wood, and recently, soldiers, due to the horde that have settled on the other half of the farm.

The Horde...

Horde scouts under (Horde Leader) had found a farm that was obviously under control of races of the alliance. Seeing that the alliance had to much of a foothold to be picked off with the forces they had as of yet, (Horde Leader) came back with more troops. Guards under (Alliance leader) were off duty at this time, writing letters, and not thinking a threat would really come. While they were off duty, horde forces under (Horde Leader) had set up tents, and, most soldiers under the alliance believing it simple noise from their own workers, weren't convinced of a threat, or one at all. Needless to say, in the morning, the horde had established a base camp, and were on the offensive, charging towards the Alliance base camp.

Both sides...

Both sides have set down barricades and defenses, and are both sending troops over, both in defense, and offense. Only time and the strategies of the commanders, and the willingness of those hired can tell who will get every inch of land.

Rules and how this will work...

1. No gmodding or poweremoting.

2. Your character can disobey orders, but they may get in trouble with their commander.

3. All CoTH rules apply, respect to your fellow players while in the event, etc.

4. Every player has 20 hitpoints, if they are hit for 5 hp they have the option to go to camp and recover. At all times they have the option to retreat, but their commanders won't be approving of this unless ordered to.

5. Both horde and alliance sides will have a chance to attack by rolling. (/roll 100) After everybody who has wanted to roll has rolled, the next side will go and do the same.

6. We will generally need the help of a gm for the event so we can have items spawned.

7. Mortars and other artillery are possible to have, including mounted blunderbusses.

8. A commander has the ability to order around their laborers, but they want to be careful about this. The gms are fragile!

9. Your character, if they forget weapons and possibly armor will be supplied with a 'surplus.' Extra armor and weapons, but these will generally be lesser quality.

10. After the event is over you can come and roleplay your character playing some poker in camp, heading home by portal or ship, or just staying in the camp in general. After chars have left, there will IC be more soldiers to take their place for the moment.

11. There are laborers here, and your commander may assign your character to menial tasks while the other team is rolling. IE, cleaning the latrines, harvesting food from the fields, mining, etc. Even though they have laborers, the commanders will still need more workers, and people to guard said workers.

12. After the other team has rolled an attack roll, your team will do a defense roll. This only counts as half a 'turn.' Then your characters will be able to do an attack and the other team of doing a defensive roll.

13. We would like you to keep track of your chars hitpoints.

14. If your char happens to reach 0 hp, then they won't die, but will be inactive for the event, at least combat wise. Other chars can visit them during this time, play poker, drink with them, etc.

15. Have fun with your roleplay, wether it be your char getting drunk while on duty, or manning the artillery.

16. Your character may get 'care packages' from relatives or friends. It can range from booze to that shiny new sword your character has always been wanting

17. Your char can even write home while at base, etc. There are many possibilities with this event for roleplay.

18. Your character can only die if the player gives their consent.

P.S. This is an ongoing roleplay event, but do try and come when you have time!

P.S.S. Before I ask a gm to move this thread back to the normal 'event' or storyline areas, I would like some criticism.
