That actually reminds me - after upgrading past 1.8, it's highly recommend to generate a new map. This will cause the new terrain features to be present, and will overall likely be a good thing (a fresh start is also nice to get rid of ugliness caused by explosions). Of course, that also means all the work is down the drain again, but that just means you have a new canvas to work on, or new cities to build, or... or other stuff!

I will likely start a new map after updating to take advantage of the new terrain features, but I'm also considering holding off until 1.9 (which allegedly also suggests to generate a new map).

Okai. Can we have the old map available, since 1.9 is due very soon?

I agree with post 1.9 re-mapping, because then all of the features of the adventure pack are present, which is a good thing ^^

Thanks for the update though, I've been pining for CotH minecraft.

Unless soon is a relative term which means 'between now and two months or so'.

Yes, 1.9 will be soon, you can mess with the Pre-release of it at the moment, since they are leaving "Beta" in November.
