Demonic Diplomatic Deployment.
#1
The dreaded triple D! I know this question is one most stupid, and I'll possibly get my hide whipped into it, but I have to ask for your opinions here, lads and lasses. So let's get cracking!

Demons have been using these so called 'diplomatic' deployments in the past. They use lies to spread fear, and further the goal of the burning Legion! like with the Eredar! Like with the Orcs! So what I ask of you is this. How likely would it be for the Legion to deploy a series of diplomatic meetings, so they could spread lies and fear at the heart of their foes? Telling them of absurd numbers, and untold strength?

I just personally find the scene... Enticing. A squadron of demons, led by a loyal servant of Sergares, meeting up with another team of Draenei in the passage between Shadowmoon Valley and Terokar forest. The harsh argument and the stress within the air, all hell could break loose at the single wrong word. The demons speak of untold numbers, to strike fear and dismay into them...

Just a thought. I'd like to hear some opinions about it, but keep it respectful!

Demons can shapeshift to take the form of any race, and seemingly know the name of anyone they come in contact with. If they were going to try and deceive someone, they would simply have a few of the more intelligent demons infiltrate an Alliance or Horde bastion, pretend to be a commander who they actually killed, and then spread false information through a reputable source. Alternatively, if it's a Nathrezim, they could just possess the commander and do it that way.

Last I recalled, only Sayaad (Succubus) can shape-shift. I just think the scenario could be interesting, no?

Actually, I think Felguards can too.

Not so. Even Fel-guards can shapeshift. In a Hunter questline, I believe one does so... I forgot his name, but he's the counterpart to Simone the Seductress and her Precious.

Regardless, yeah. /nod. I agree. But Draenei are pretty hard to scare as far as the Legion is concerned. They've mostly become jaded and angry thanks to gajillions of years of being hounded by the Legion and losing planet after planet to them.

They might just go 'Eh, so what else is new? We smacked your leaders before. Come in full force, and all of Azeroth will stand against you.' - as is typical in Blizzard Lore, whenever there's a big enemy, all of Azeroth 'n sometimes Outland too, bands together to kill it.

Edit: Ninja'd by my telepathic better half.

I didn't mean specifically against Draenei. I just set an example scenario. This whole deal about the shape-shifting is rather new to me, actually, and I haven't known that before.

All demons can shape-shift or, in the case of Dreadlords, hollow you out and wear you like a pink sausage casing.

And demons coming out as diplomats, even for the sake of subterfuge, isn't really their modus operandi.

While some demons will, when confronted by a single adventurer or a few adventurers, attempt to pass themselves off as peaceful and in need of help, the grand majority of them understand that they are hated by all rational life and that very few groups would sit down and speak with them peacefully.

In this case, it's best to pull an Onyxia and hide amongst them for manipulation purposes.
