Hurricane Ike

Thanks for all of the well wishes, prayers, incense, and patterns. At this point, we're estimating the loss of electricity to happen at about 3am, so Lokk and I'll probably be on later. Things are settled here, we've boarded up, had dinner, put my nieces to bed, and are just watching the weather.

I live in FL, so I know exactly how you are feeling right now. Be safe!

Hope everything goes good for you.. I've never been in any bad weather like that.. We just get the rain from most of the hurricanes up here in Virginia.

It passed by Svatahor without any problems :) Good luck to anyone else who got clipped, or worse!

Simple task uphold.

From what I watched on the news, and from what I remember of Zema and Lokk, they live near or in an area that -did- in fact take damage.
My hopes and prayers go out to you both.
It was painful to watch my hometown get turned into broken rubble.
<3 for everyone, these are tough times.
Prayers also for those in the Chicago area.

What happened in Chicago?

...as for Lokk and I, Livingston got hit hard, but we're unharmed. We'll be without electricity for the unforeseeable future and will be on generator power once we go back home - for this week, we're at a hotel a bit north. Our very old trailer house is completely unharmed, which was not expected and is a miracle.

<hugs everyone> Thank you for all of your well-wishes, prayers, and everything.

Hooray, Menka and Lokk! I'm glad to hear you're safe!

...Perhaps they could divert some of that extra rain out west? Hm.

As far as we know, he was on the "clean" side of the storm...meaning that he should be fine besides being without electricity.

I'm glad you're all okay :D

As for Chicago, it was uber underwater because of all the rain and then what was left of Ike was merging with a front and heading for Chicago as well. Whole parts of the city got shutdown cause the roads were impassable and people took a lot of property damage. That's all I know.

Wow...I've been so disconnected from the news because of the electricity being out and not being able to talk to my kids. (You'd be shocked at the news you get just by listening to high school students chattering)

The only news I get at my school is either who got layed over the weekend, or who broke a nail... -_-

The only REAL news I've heard people talk about was when the giant particle accelerator was launched, that was supposedly going to "kill us all".

I'm probably wrong, I most likely just can't remember...

/end rambling

EDIT: Kind of off topic. My bad.

After about two powerless weeks Rakk is Bakk. Good to see everyone made it out okay, I'm just dandy myself aside from a few snapped trees from a pesky tornado that seems to have come by my place.
