Wills End
#1
You look out onto the battlefield. You believe yourself to have the advantage. You see the two sides, ready to charge. One side, clouded in darkness, the other, glimmering in light. Your duty is to attack the enemy side from the side. They do not know you are there, it is the perfect plan.

At least... it would be. But around the valley, are many other groups, with the very same plan as you, varying on which side they plan to attack. They are as aware of you as you are of them. A horn sounds, you charge with your brethren. The ground shakes as thousands of men and women charge towards the center of th battlefield.

Hours pass, and soon, not but a small handful stands. Breathing hard, looking over the dead, you amongst them raise your weapons to the air and scream, you are victorious!

The sky grows dark. A terrible buzzing sound fills the air. You clasp your hands over your ears screaming, dropping your weapons. Your small group huddles together, peering around searching for the sounds source. The sky grows ever darker, and thunder and lightning wage their own war in the sky. Rain pours onto your armor, clinking off. The sound then stops, you uncover your ears and peer around.

Red eyes can be seen all around you. They are watching. Everywhere, you hear whispers. It is so dark now, all you can see is the eyes, your group, and the bodies around you. They seem to be moving closer. Your group huddles ever closer, weapons at the ready. The eyes grow into figures covered in dark armor, carrying dark blades. They lurch forward, and everyone around you begins to fall. Your head begins to buzz, you can't focus. You swing your weapon at the enemy, but can't hit them. It is like they are not even there. Then, you stop.

You look around, everyone dieing. You peer down at your chest, a blade run through it, blood dripping down. You fall to your knees, as a plated boot kicks you in the back, pulling the blade out. You take one more look around, it is blurry, but you see it. Everyone is dead, the figures are leaving. That is all there is, death, and they leave. You look up, lightning strikes in the sky. You fall to the ground, everything goes dark. Your very will to fight, has left you.

There is war coming to Conquest of the Horde. It is not hidden. Groups side with each other, against each other. But, what is the reason? Is this truly a good vs. evil war? Is that really all there is too it? You must fight so that you can rule, or save the world? No, it is never that simple.

In the center of all of it, sits the Wills End. They watch, grinning as you kill your brothers. Then, when you are most weak, once you have given them a good show, when they are done with you, they end you.

They watch what they create. They do what they can to make you believe that that other group is the very evil that you MUST destroy. They cause you to believe you are just in what you do. They make you think, that you are protecting the world, or that in fighting, you will rule it. But in truth, they are using you, to kill yourself off.

They watch, from the darkness, until you are weak. They watch, as you kill your own. They are the evil, they are the darkness. And they watch you, until your very will to fight, is all you have left... and then... they take that form you too.

Wills End is a cultist guild, based around all the fighting that is currently going on. Not just the Horde vs. Alliance, but guilds such as the Purge, and all who would side/fight with them. Wills end watches, and when the time comes, finishes the job on the winning side. They make sure no battle is won, and that both sides will lose.

They worship an old god, whos name will not be released yet. He "Speaks to them" And tells them his will. And thus, they want the end of the world to come, for that is what their master wants.

Requirements are very strict, and very, very racist.

new Requirements include:

Wear Set Uniform of the cult.

Yep, that is it.

So yes, you no longer need to be a human female Warrior/Deathknight at 1.1 scale, but you will still have to wear the cults uniform. So this is a good guild for alts or just making a new character specifically for it. We accept anyone that meets the requirement, as long as you are evil that is.

No one is to see your faces. If you wish to go out in normal life, you are not to wear a single piece of your cult armor.

More rules and laws will be put in place IC. If interested message Waiyaneta or Johalea in-game. One of them will respond, sometime.

So...you're implying this Wills End caused the different pairs against each other right now? I.E. Novalight/Seregon, Inquisition/Purge?

How?

Why?

What is it Wills End gets out of this?

How will you go about convincing these groups they have to murder each other?

And why the arbitrary restrictions on membership?

No, not the current groups, but groups to come they will start convincing them to kill each other. And what they get out of it? A good show and sooner or later what all bad guys want. Dominion over the world.

And the restrictions are so that everyone will literally look exactly the same in the cult armor.

Although, I am working on cloth/leather/ sets, so that sooner or later, all classes can join. But Human females just so that everyone will look exactly the same as the others of their role.

Seems to me like you very much intend to use the Purge at least. And, believe it or not, not all "bad guys" want dominion over the world.

How long has Wills End supposedly ICly been around to have the power to manipulate groups like this?

Just a quick correction:

"There is war coming to Call of the Horde."

That would be Conquest of the Horde. Just thought it'd help.

Good luck!

They have been around for perhaps a couple years. But are just now taking actions. And while yes they intend to use groups such as the Purge, that does not mean they convinced them to do anything. They will use the Purge and others who fight with or against them, and will convince future groups to get into the fight. They do not target large groups to bend to their will, they choose small mercenary groups and such. They never convinced the Purge or others to fight, but they will use this as their staging fight none the less.
And yeah, I always say Call instead of Conquest!

"Rage"
Updated the requirements...

I think it is a bit less arbitrary now no?

A plague has afflicted the evil RP of CotH of late. Such prestigious positions of villainy are generally expected to develop during roleplay, were they to be taken seriously.

Additionally, motivations ought to be more complex when designing an organization--particularly those of a villainous bent. World domination is incredibly trite, isn't truly inherently evil, and is often better suited for Blood Knight-style characters who revel in war than your typical evil group.

Additionally, there must be a reason that an organization is evil rather than simply gray, or neutral. There is no reason for most groups to make enemies of the entire world without strict necessity, just as there is no reason for a very large portion of typical 'villainous' behavior. Killing underlings does not secure loyalty, manipulating the law is often better than breaking it, and Omnicidal Maniacs are best left unplayed.

Thanks for that. That makes me feel great about my RP ideas. Nice to know that my idea is literally called "Stupid Evil".
And by the way, In my opinion none of that but maybe two sentences was related to this thread, and was in fact just you using my thread to rant on your opinion.

The reason they are evil is not set in stone, thus is why it is not in the main post itself,

They are not this "Stupid Evil" That you for some reason brought up, as I said they only do bad things while in cult groups. While they are not they act as normal people and do not even speak of the cult to anyone.

And to point out a few things against your post,

Nothing about killing underlings was mentioned.
Manipulating the law is not going to get even a bit of what they want to do done.
And if i want to play a character that is "Stupidly" hell-bent on taking over the world, than you have no right to tell me that i shouldn't.

Who's to say people getting kicks out of prolonging warfare is a stupid idea?

Still. I'm not entirely sure as to the purpose of the guild.

Perhaps I miss something in all of your posts, but you seem to say they're totally not something every time we point out something off or "wrong" with your ideas.

When it's still glaringly obvious.

And Gecko didn't name the trope, people. The way you, Zeromanx, have described the guild (that none of us seem to understand) goes like the trope describes:

Quote:The logical extreme of the Obviously Evil motif. These are the people who seem to think having an evil alignment means doing nothing but evil every waking moment, even out in broad daylight. Like, say, stabbing a peasant while several high-level town guards are watching for no reason other than you were bored. If the other party members are lucky, this insane behavior will extend solely to the NPCs. If the other party members are lucky, that is. The Stupid Evil character is frequently the type who will betray and murder his teammates on the flimsiest of pretenses (even if he'd gain no advantage in doing so), simply because it's EEEEEEVIL.

There were hints of this in Waiyaneta's profile as well.

Your last guild seemed to have this problem as well, where it took a good number of posts to get you to clarify its purpose and reason. Also, ranks would be good to clarify, unless you're trying to keep that secret. Or don't know them yet.

...Also, maybe it's just my screen, but the red on this forum's dark background is really hard to see.

If you don't like it, leave it alone. :) Or throw out helpful suggestions to smoothin' out logical or cliche-ridden errors rather than just pointing to tropes.

I'm also not exactly sure what's goin' down in this guild, but with all the "us vs. them" storylines, doesn't seem so out of place. I'm more curious as to the "cultist" aspects -- what do they worship? Are they Old God cultists? Maybe that would explain their need to prolong wars and strife. Have you talked to some of the guilds (at least OOCly) to try and partner some of these actions of manipulation?

Also quick edit: The name is bugging me! Please clarify for me, because I am thrown off by that dastardly 's'. Is it "Will's End" (like the will of a person)? Or is it really "Wills End" -- the collective end of wills? It seems so simple but it keeps trippin' me up for one reason or the other, I apologize. :)

Stop knocking on the guy's guild idea because of a trope.

All lot of our characters have tropes in them. Same with ideas. Does that make them bad?

I'm disappointed in the behaviors of some of our older members.

Productive posts in this thread from now on, please.

I'm actually a little interested and maybe it'll give me an excuse to roll another human female (I only have like.. one of them).

Here's to hoping it'll stay around til December!

It really isn't the fact that a trope is used, but if you say so.

Well I am still adding to it, is why this is is a discussion.

Who they worship, I am thinking along the lines of the Twilight cult, just not quite as "Lets burn down the entire forest" As they are. Let's say they want not to rule the world, but to bring about it's end, as they see too much corruption, and the only solution they believe in is total annihilation.
And to achieve this, they are being much less direct than the Twilight's Hammer is/was/will be. They rather sit back and do what they can to have the world kill itself. And they just come in to finish the job.
