Hagins Introduction
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
Hm.. I'm 18 years old, been playing the game since the last six months of vanilla or classic. I've been roleplaying for just about 6 or 7 months on another server, Prologue. Being involved in and having a taste of everything from Military RP to ERP.(Sigh)

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
I've been living in Sweden my entire life; My Primary language is Swedish. Though I sometimes find myself knowing the words for things in English that I don't know in Swedish.(If that made any sense.)

How did you get into Warcraft?:
Ugh.. I can't really remember, I -think- one of my former classmates showed it to me and convinced me to buy it.

What made you seek our server over others? (Or how did you find us?):
Some of you might've heard that Prologue is shutting down the 15th. Back in the early stages of my roleplay I roleplayed briefly with a few members(or former members, no idea what happened to them) of this community. So I figured I'd give it a shot.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:

Personally I prefer to RP with smaller groups of people as I sometimes find it hard to keep track of what's going on in crowds. I can't say that I prefer 'this' type of Rp over 'that' as it comes to my opinion that you cannot avoid one kind of RP just because you do not like it. I rather adapt and let my characters story progress.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?: Gnome Rogue, I've always liked playing a gnome and found their contraptions and culture to be quite cool. And as for the class.. well it is mostly because it comes as close to the 'normal', mortal person I'd want my character to be. I've also always enjoyed playing the class.

What are your expectations of this server?: I expect to find intresting roleplay and a good time.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
The rule that appeals to me the most is actually two and are the following;
Spoiler:
"Godmoding

No godmoding, metagaming or powergaming."
And...
Spoiler:
"Role-playing

All players on this server are expected to be familiar with the history of Azeroth. While some of us take this to a level bordering on the encyclopedic, a working familiarity with basic timelines will suffice. In addition to this, all players are expected to have a character concept that makes sense within the context of Azerothian history. This concept should be readily communicable through the player's in-character words and actions, and players are expected to remain in character a majority of the time. Public character channels, such as /say, /emotes and /yell should be in character (IC) as much as possible, but out of character (OOC) chat is permitted as long as it is clearly defined, such as by double parenthesis ((as such)). Be aware that people usually dislike this, and will ask you to stop if you speak out of character in a channel reserved for IC communication. Guild channels will be defined by their guild leader.

As Grakor puts it:
"We don't need characters from other dimensions, worlds, etc. or characters that are out of place and make no sense with the current, established lore. Warcraft lore is already fairly diverse, so I don't see why players would need to branch out of the many possibilities it offers." Furthermore, do not make a character that is "more powerful than everyone else." It definitely won't fly, and if it were allowed, everyone would likely have their characters be "all-powerful." This includes claiming titles for your character that you have not earned through roleplay on this server. As one example, do not make a character claiming to be the leader or high-ranking officer of an established organization. It won't fly. Furthermore, don't make a character with relations to any key lore figures. A good character doesn't need to rely on the importance/fame of established figures.

Types of RP
Generally, any type of RP is allowed, AS LONG AS EVERY PARTICIPANT IS COMFORTABLE WITH IT. If it may not be appropriate in a public setting, please take it to a more private locale. On that note, everyone should keep in mind that if you are in visual range of another player (and visual range is actually increased on this server), then they will be able to see and hear all emotes and /says. That said, just because every RP is allowed does not mean that you should go out of your way to create characters solely for adult situations. Characters that are created purely for sexual RP, or those whose theme is heavily based on it (such as prostitutes) will be rejected. This can come with a ban or suspension in certain cases. Our server caters to a wide age-range, and adult RP is not always appropriate."
These are things that have annoyed the hell out of me in the past.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
Hmm... A story, eh? Alright, Here goes nothing:

In the cold, snowy landscape of Dun Morogh lies a little cabin, it's roof covered in a thick layer of snow with only a crooked chimney piercing through it. The cabins outside walls covered with piles of crates that is almost as high as the cabin itself. A bright light from candles and the fire in the cabins only inhabitants only stove would shine out through the windows, creating a ray of light in the dark winter night. Walking up to the cabin, one would see that the door is nothing but a few feet tall and next to it stands a mailbox with the text; "W. Fizzlesprocket." A gnome lives there?

Not too far away, maybe a couple of hundred yards away on a hill, stands the dwarven mountaineer Roymil Ironhammer on lookout over the lands, sipping on the mug of mead that he snuck with him out on duty that's now gone cold.
Standing there a couple of more minutes he reaches into his pocket and takes out a box full of matches. Roymil carefully lights one of the matches and uses it to light the torch he'd also brought with him. Standing there muttering to himself he would soon be interrupted by the sound of a yell coming from the cabin further down.

-"I've got it! I've finally got it! Succe-... ***BOOM***"

The cabin would light up the enitre valley as it suddenly exploded, sending debris far up in the sky just for it then to rain down in the valley. Roymil would then raise his hand to his face and mutter; "... Gnomes.."

(It is not a bestseller but I hope it'll do. :) )

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
I'd like some more clarification on this "Gruntship" thing that was mentioned regarding the previous question.

~Hello, Hagin! Welcome to Conquest of the Horde!~

In case you haven't yet, please read over the server's rules and policies available at the Coth's wiki. We also have guides for lore and character creation, so if you feel your lore needs some brushing up, give these articles a good read.

For clarification of what "Gruntship" is, essentially it's when players will receive benefits that players without it cannot (Peons). Peons are newer players with some restrictions such as not being able to go above level 50 or to be able to have custom model characters and special profiles (for characters with certain power or social prestige). By the time you start role-playing in this server, you would be a Peon.

By becoming a Grunt, your characters can be level 80, be able to apply for custom model characters, have special profiles, and so forth. In order to be able to apply for Gruntship, you must be a fairly active player in this server for at least a month and then fill out this questionairre.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask the GM team or just anyone in the CotH community! We're more than happy to show a newcomer the ropes to this server.
