Counterpart's Introduction ^^
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:

First off, hello! :D

As a player (gamer), I'm always looking for new ways to have fun both personally and with other gamers. I almost always have played MMO's (besides Skyrim. FUS RO DAHHHH), but the retail version of Warcraft has really taken a toll on me. Speaking of which, I've been playing WoW for about 4 years now. That's kind of scary, but, it's given me a lot of experience!

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:

I'm from the US of A. Boring, I know! English is my primary language.

How did you get into Warcraft?:

I was a bored, socially depraved child.

That's what got me introduced to the game, but the lore got me hooked! Even though my social status has greatly improved, I still love the game and the universe it is placed in.

What made you seek our server over others? (Or how did you find us?):

I used to play on Moon Guard, and I often complained to some friends about all the trolls and jerkfaces running around the server. A friend recommended that I check out Conquest of the Horde for a quality roleplay server, so, here I am! I don't think he plays here, and I'm not so sure how he originally heard of the server.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:

I like any type of roleplay that is quality roleplay! However, if I had to pick a certain "type" of roleplay, I would have to say that I most enjoy the kind that involves a journey or an adventure. One awesome memory I have of this is walking from Durotar to Mulgore as part of a caravan in a World PvP event on Moon Guard. The sense of realism and the feeling of "What's next?" that acting as a wayfarer gives off is what I like most! (:

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:

Oh goshhhhh. Uhmmm! I'm going to have to go with Blood Elf Warlock. Don't judge! Their lore is just really interesting to me. A lot of times people just seem to roleplay them in a way that they weren't intended to act. That's my take on it, at least!

What are your expectations of this server?:

From the small amount of information that my friend has given me about this server, I'm really excited to start playing here! He said the server is a tight-knit group of folks, and I would much prefer that to the queue times of Moon Guard. ;D

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:

Tolerance! I think that everyone can use more tolerance. A lot of times we forget that even if someone else has a different opinion or lives a different way, they are entitled to be who they are.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:

Well! This is sort of a story. A friend of mine asked me to write him a small scene between a Tauren father and son, so I figure that I'll post this here!

As the drums signaling the beginning of the eleventh hour of night resonated across the landscape of Mulgore from the heights of Thunder Bluff, a son is about to complete his journey from across Mulgore to meet his father on the Central Rise. The two Tauren were of the Thunderhorn tribe, and they came together to speak of the land and the hunt.

FATHER: Welcome, son. I have been awaiting your arrival for many moons. What news do you have from across the great plains of Mulgore?

SON: Thank you, father. I hope you and mother are both well here. The quilboar near Camp Narache have been causing a disturbance to the balance of the land there lately, and the local braves have been putting forth an effort to stop them. Unfortunately I have had no time to aid them, as my own village has been hunting down the mighty kodo, as we are in short supply of leather for our tents. Even worse, a rumour of harpies causing trouble just to the North of Thunder Bluff is spreading; their breeding grounds have remained undisturbed for far too long.

The father gives a sympathetic nod and a slight frown, his normally stoic appearance breaking whilst in the company of his son.

FATHER: I would not have guessed that there would be such a great trouble in Mulgore... in meditation I have not heard any cries of the Earthmother! If there is too much trouble, the forces from this great city will surely quell the uprising.

The father smiles and pats his son on the back, reaching around the bow strapped to it.

FATHER: It is a great time for the our people, indeed... we do not have to have great worry. We have more time to uphold the sanctity of the land, instead of just looking out for our sole survival. It is a shame that there are others among us in this world that seek to uproot that peace which we live to keep.

The son tilts his head at his father, remaining silent. The father begins walking towards his tent on the Middle Rise, his son obediently following behind him.

FATHER: Though... it is not time to speak of such serious matters! Even with these minor misfortunes, we can all be considered blessed. Your mother and I are happy for your return home. There is a ceremony on the Elder Rise at twelve beats of the drum tonight - we should make haste so that we can have supper before! Off we go!

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:

I don't think so! The roleplay excerpt above was quite serious, though! I almost never would roleplay a character like that, but, I feel like it was a decent example of an interaction between the two Tauren. (:
