Introduction a'la Ardonir
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
Guess I'll tell about my WoW "career" here. I have played WoW since 2005, but quit on offical servers sometime in 2009-2010. After the first two years in a pvp server, got bored (needed something extra spice to add to the mindless grinding and such). Then I found the RP server Sha'Tar (EU). I spent about 3 years there and I could not believe how much better the entire community was compared to a pvp realm (no offence of course). People are much more mature in almost every aspect, and that extra spice I mentioned was missing from a "normal" realm was present. Roleplaying. It looked so exciting, lively and fun. I had never done such a thing before, and I even had to rename my character (was a foreign name, can tell more later). I started studying the realm and its inhabitants, quietly and looking from a distance. But they came and dragged me in! Oh my god, what do I do, I can't roleplay! And so I became a roleplayer.

In general I play to have a good time, and aim to give good times for my fellow players too. I am a team player, and I like to be a part of the crew or a party, even leading if needed (and if my knowledge of the matter I am leading towards is enough). I like to play either a healer or a tank class, since doing those roles gives me more of the feeling I am doing something important for the party.

I am a positive person, will lend aid and share wisdom for people with less experience on something than me. I am open to many things, and always try to cope with situations even if they are not familiar to me, and I am not afraid of asking for help myself.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
Finland, and finnish. My english grade is 9/10 or A- though, and I got video games to thank for that, mostly this game.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
Back in 2005 a friend in school bought it, and started a tidal wave of us classmates to do the same. Never played any Warcraft games, so I might not be a walking lorepedia, but I think I can handle the basics.

What made you seek our server over others? (Or how did you find us?):
Googled "wow private server rp". That's pretty much that. I miss roleplaying, but don't want to go back to the offical realms.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
What I did in the Sha'Tar realm was mostly hanging around taverns and Goldshire, Stormwind and the surrounding areas, having a social life. Making friends. Sometimes longer travelling trips were made, but I've actually never been a part of anything big, like a society. Once I did try to join a guard patrol of sorts, but my interest died quickly, as it was rather lousily organized. I've never done an over-night lasting RP session, meaning picking up some story from earlier on and going on with it. Just some random casual RP mostly. I have liked almost all of my past experiences and always waiting for new ones to come by and take me away.

I'm eager to try something more complex, but not anything too "hardcore" right away. Roleplaying experience has to grow gradually and little by little, like any other experience in life.

I could add here, that I never really got myself into action-based roleplaying or fights of any sort, so I don't know the rules for that, or how they work at all...but that was the way of my character then, to avoid combat.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
On Sha'Tar I had a Human Paladin and a Gnome rogue. The first naturally being the good boy in shining armor, helpful and just, and the latter a slightly inverted, anti-social lurker, who even spied on his own few friends to know their secrets. Both were dear for me, but lately I've been leaned towards Dwarves. I would most propably make a Dwarf Warrior, Priest or Hunter on this realm. Or a Gnome Mage.

What are your expectations of this server?:
Rather high, giving these Trials of Fire you've got to go trough to get in, hehe. I read some of the threads about the population, and given it is pretty low, really strengthens the thing said about quality over quantity with the player base. I am fine with that.

I'd like to know about any gameplay issues, common bugs or sorts if you want to add them into your answers, but I'll look for threads for that matter aswell.

The exp/gold etc. rates seem pretty fine too, not being too low nor too high.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
All of them are reasonable. Respect, tolerance, language and maturity being the rules any social game should have. Rules under the roleplaying section were good too, I too know of some certain "half night elf half draenei vampire succubus demons with red eyes" who really ruin the mood. Keyboard skills is a nice addition, using "internet language" totally is not for RP. I would not even use it in a common chat.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
Based on a true story (I should know, I was there):

An another dark, cold night fell over Duskwood. A Draenei and a Gnome were walking on a cobblestone road, leading east from the village of Darkshire, towards the dreaded Deathwind Pass. They weren't actually planning of going into the Pass, but to the hills overlooking the village behind them. After climbing trough a narrow pass between two stone walls and hopping over a fallen tree, the couple found themselves a very inviting hilltop. From it, they could see the eerie glow of the lanterns which each house of the village had.

They sat down on the hilltop, gazing over the sleeping town. The Gnome quickly took a look at the Draenei, and saw a pondering look on her face.

-"You have been so quiet all night, its not like you", he said.
-"Yes, I know, but there is a lot on my mind...", she replied.
-"What about? That guy back at the tavern who had the behaviour of an Orc, trying to have his way with you?", the Gnome asked again and let out a small, disapproving sigh.
-"No, not just that, that was nothing, I get that all the time.", the Draenei answered, and looked over to the sky, at the full moon.

There was a moment of silence now, and the Gnome just could not get his head around his friends thoughts. He felt kind of guilty still, having been distant of her for some while. Then his friend started talking again:

-"Its you I am wondering about. I haven't been able to fully understand you. You're a great friend most of the time, but I believe you are hiding something."

The Gnome looked at his friend with a supriced face, and did not know what to answer.

-"Hiding something, that's ridicilous. You are my friend and I care for you, I would never lie."
-"You have not lied, friend. What I am talking about is yourself."

The Gnome let out a sigh again. He was wearing all black leather outfit, complete with a black hood, hiding all of his face except the eyes. It was his common wardrobe, and his friend had never seen his face without the hood. Nor had many other people for that matter.

"Its a part of my job, I can't reveal my identity to anyone or there would be trouble. For both me and the person knowing my identity.", the Gnome said, crossing his hands and looking away from the Draenei.

The Draenei moved closer to the Gnome, quickly landed one hand on his his hood and ripped it off his head.

"HEY! I was serious about what I said, you don't understand do you!", the Gnome yelled angrily and covered his face with his palm.

The Draenei, holding the hood now in her hand, looked at the Gnome with a little curious smile, slowly took the Gnome's hand off his face to reveal messy brown hair, sloppily cut beard and a pair of almost tear dropping eyes.

"This does not look like a dangerous face at all to me", the Draenei said with a friendly tone, and gave the Gnome a small kiss on the forehead, and giving back his hood.
-"Thanks...I guess. Now I've got to keep on accompanying you.", the Gnome muffled.
-"As if you wouldn't have before this evening.", the Draenei laughed back at him.
------------------------------------------------------------------
That was the short story of the night of me and my best RP friend having a slightly longer IC session, and her finding more about my oh-so-mysterious character. Might have some mistakes, and I hope that Draenei is not reading this :<

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
I think I got everything straight, I'll be browsing the forums and such for a while longer still.

Hello there Ardonir, and welcome to CotH.

If you haven't done so yet, it's worth glancing over our Wiki to take a look at the rules, see our guidelines for making a character and perhaps even look over a few approved profiles while you're there.

Thank you for the story. Do take all the time you need to browse.

I hope you enjoy your time here. Do feel free to PM me if you have any further queries. I'll try and answer to the best of my ability.
