An Introduction
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
Firstly, I'm not the most outgoing person but I like to think that I'm easy to get along with once the ice has broken. I value respect, decency, self-restraint and a bit of cheekiness if the situation warrants. To be honest, I'm not big on writing or reading huge slabs of fiction but I love the real-time interaction of online RP. I'm also a bit of a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to RPGs: I enjoy tweaking, evolving and improving a character's stats, gear and skills as much as his/her background, personality and interactions. I also like to think that I'm pretty handy at PVE and PVP too.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
I'm from Sydney, Australia and English is my first language.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
I obsessed over Warcraft 2 in my youth and played through Warcraft 3 when it was released. A couple of years into uni, I decided to dabble in MMORPGs for the first time and it was a toss up between CoH or WoW. I chose WoW because of the familiar fantasy background and the chance to smack things in the face with a big sword.

What made you seek our server over others? (Or how did you find us?):
I used to play on Sentinels (US RP Retail Server) but I took a long break from WoW and my beloved RP guild to focus on my studies. I'm working now and with some time to spare (and more self control on my part) I decided to try out some private servers. I actually went to a pure PVE server to start out and it was a blast for a while, but the lack of meaningful interaction burnt me out: constant anal jokes and ICC/PoS runs kill brain cells as fast as... jumping off a balcony headfirst. A quick google of RP private servers and I found CotH, but a thorough read of the server's FAQs etc made me think that I'd found just what I've been looking for.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
A bit of everything, really: I've had some great casual RP in taverns, in groups of 2 to 5 people. I also enjoy IC guild meetings, events and IC instances. One of my fondest memories is a mammoth 3-4 hour IC BRD run, exploring just about every nook and cranny in that damn dungeon. Another was an IC wedding ceremony at the summit of Stonetalon Mountains.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
I used to favour humans because it's relatively easy to put yourself in the shoes of a species you're a member of. I also tended to pick stereotypically good/evil classes and try an opposite approach to their alignment (see second last question for example >:D).

What are your expectations of this server?:
I'm hoping for a mature and friendly atmosphere and community, people RPing in cities but also in the wilderness while questing, and hopefully a bit of OOC wackiness thrown in to keep things upbeat.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
Clear policies on respect, tolerance and humility are important to me. At the end of the day, we're playing a game to unwind and it's not very relaxing to login and have to put up with a disrespectful yobbo or a clueless and inconsiderate godmoder.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
((This was something I wrote for my main back on Sentinels, a Lawful Neutral-bordering-on-evil Human Paladin, Inquisitor Zachriel))

The chamber was modestly sized, lined with columns and arches typical of the Cathedral above. It was dark, but not prohibitively so. Several torches were set into the columns, and two braziers burned dimly in the room, one by the entrance and one near the centre. The dull hum of activity sounded through the walls, but was disturbed by the approaching shuffle of feet.

A precession of robed figures entered the room, several taking positions along the walls while one began to stir the coals in the centre brazier. A dishevelled man dressed in a burlap tunic was lead into the room and seated in the centre, his wrists and ankles bound in inscribed and dimly glowing shackles, head covered in a sack. One of the robed figures roughly removed the sack from his head, finally allowing him to breathe easy but his head still slouched forward.

Another set of footsteps echoed down the stairway. The figure emerged into the dim light, a middle-aged man with white hair and of average appearance save for his rich purple robes. He strode in with confidence, his eyes quickly inspecting the prisoner's shackles.

"Wake up, my young friend," Inquisitor Zachriel said gently, as he patted the prisoner on the shoulder. He paused a moment, awaiting a reply. He grabbed the prisoner's jaw in his gloved hand, forcing the prisoner to look him in the eye. "Wake up," he repeated calmly.

"Shall we get to the point? You have some information I want. Whether or not you decide to reveal that information, we will both learn something before this day is done: how far you can go before you break."

The Inquisitor circled around, "Now, as you are a mage, I imagine your hands must be quite important to you, hmm? For casting spells and other such things. Why don't we look at them a little closer?"

Zachriel casually walked over to a nearby table, unrolling a large leather wallet, the faint tinkling of metal sounding in the room. "Some of my colleagues boast about how few of these they use before a prisoner speaks. I don't think we need to limit ourselves, do you?"

***

The Inquisitor examined the prisoner's quivering hands, the knuckles now in red tatters. He whispered several words of power as one of his gloved hands hovered above the wretched prisoner. A soft, golden light enveloped the ruined hands, swiftly mending the damage. The quivering slowed as the torn skin and flesh reknitted. "You are more resilient that you look, I give you credit for that."

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
Can't think of anything at the moment.

Welcome deepincision!

If you haven't done so yet, please head on over to the Wiki to take a look at the rules, see our guidelines for making a character and maybe even read a few of the approved character profiles while you're there!

If you have do think of a question or several, do not hesistate to ask them on the forums or simply send a PM to me, other forum helpers or the GM team!

I hope you will enjoy your time here on the server!
