Here's Immy being an attention who-
#1
-lesomely seeking GM in the interest of the server. Whew!

I am obviously not as clever as the other GMs here.

SO. The holidays are coming up, and for the lot of us, that means one of the following: 1.) Activity goes up as due to the holidays and more players, new and old, have more time to engage in happy funtime RP, or 2.) Activity goes down due to family, traveling, work (especially if you're temping), or school (yes, there are winter-holiday semesters for certain schools out there). These are more of individual circumstances regarding server activity rather than the server itself, though I unfortunately happen to fall into #2. In fact, I tend to have far less free time during vacation than when I have school and work. Huh.

NEVERTHELESS:

Now that I am slapped with a Content GM title like a Bobo doll by a rubber chicken, like said Bobo doll (and rubber chicken), I am otherwise open and available to being punched and slapped around senselessly help assist and improve RP around the server. I have held events in the past, spontaneous and planned, usually with the aim of storytelling or killing boredom and monotony. Or all three. I have heard Player this wants more of this, Player that wants more of that, we need more of this RP, we need less of that. The GMs have tried to vary RP more through whatever RP strengths they would possess, especially in regards to lore. Evil RP. Horde RP. Human/Blood Elf RP. Etc, etc. What are my strengths? Well...

Okay, I'll be outright and frank. I am WoW lore weak. Like. Really lore weak. You know the first time I RPed Kantado? He changed into a bunny, a half-cat, and spoke while shapeshifted. Yeah. I was that bad. Even now I still struggle with lore, though as far as draenei and orcs go, I am a lot stronger than when I first arrived here. Yes, I do research, I do read... but the best way for me to learn anything, from fictional world built lore to social psychology and statistics, I have to learn it firsthand, hands on. If I actually played WC3, or went through all the Night Elf druid quests, then trust me, my lore would get better. But no. I cannot afford that amount of time and effort to research something so vast and complex as Warcraft lore all by myself and with no assistance. My mind is crammed with other things already.

BUT...I would like to believe I do have this for a strength: Managing and leading storylines and events, promoting social RP beyond tavern and combat, spontaneous and improvised mini-events, and in general, RP created specifically for character development. However... as you can see on my Joined date, I first arrived here only half a year ago. I am unsure if I have done enough for this server as far as events and storylines go, or if I'm doing a pretty good job in spite of my short stay.

SO. As your new GM slave, I shall make this blog entry for everyone to answer at their own discretion as you see fit:

1.) What kind of RP do you want to see more of?

2.) What kind of RP do you want to see less?

3.) Are you in higher favor of story-driven RP with lots of combat or more character-centered drama? Or story RP at all? If so, what kind?

4.) How am I doing with <The Love Exchange>? Do you think I'm not doing enough with matchmaking and such? Do you think I should do more with it? Bear in mind that this guild was created for more than just matchmaking RP, but RP centered around love and romance in general without actually being romance RP (if that makes sense).

5.) Are you disturbed, upset, angry, apathetic, etc., about me being lore weak as a GM? I'm trying my best to improve lore weakness, I really am.

6.) Lastly, what are your expectations of me, in general, as a GM? Do you just want me to just be quiet and do my GM duties, do you want me to be the "fun police" where I focus less on stepping on people's toes and have bring more fun, etc.? I've seen how there are some players who like how active and helpful the GM team are but, at the same time, would find them unapproachable and inflexible in regards to what is allowable in RP. I hope to change that, especially since I find it rather unfair.

As for finding me in-game, for those of you who don't know me, I have a ton of characters but only a handful whom I RP regularly. Since <The Love Exchange> is by far the only guild I actively administrate and lead (the other one, <Stormwind Underground>, is only a quasi-guild and an OOC one), you'll most likely find me on as Kapre, my blueberry derpgoat. If not him, then as Mahentosh, my dirty old orc. I have other characters, but they're listed in my forum profile.

That's it for my first blog post! Hope to RP with you again soon!

Let's see, let's see...

First, if you ever want to bounce lore questions off me, go ahead. I'm no expert, but I do entertain myself by reading WoWPedia.

As for your questions...

1) Epic, well written good vs evil. Have the subtlety and snark of the noire genre. But, stick that in Ulduar.

2) Well...I've never been a fan of straight Horde vs Alliance war RP. But, I don't want to say don't do it less, since other people may like it.

3) Storyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy-*inhale*-yyyyyyyyyy. I like combat, but I dislike enemy-of-the-week. I love epic bosses, but I dislike ninjas, or murlocs (murloc ninjas?) being tossed at a party at random. So...a combination? Character-centered drama, with an epic boss in an epic location every now and then. Planned out, so everything is cohesive.

4) I've never really RPed with TLE, so can't say too much. I did watch an interesting RP between a character that faked interest in a scientific study to get with a guild member for the night. She got mad and tried to beat the crap out of him. His point was to "screen for assholes", amongst other things. I would...add that detail, for I do not know how you keep out the more dishonest of interviewees. A good story point might be to have one! Using TLE for his own nefarious purposes.

5) It made me go "huh", but that's about it. I'll admit I was surprised you were chosen, as you seem to be quite new, relatively. Perhaps I missed all you've done to catch the team's eye during my absence. Oh, well. Like I said, feel free to talk over lore with me, and I'll see how I can help.

6) Fun police. You've always seemed quite approachable and flexible.

Hope all that helped!

1.) What kind of RP do you want to see more of?
Well, to be frank, all sorts of. I just like RP. Adventurous, dungeon-rummaging, and so on. Though I'd really like to see a dungeoneering RP event again. And more diverse location-based RP. Feralas, Felwood, Darkshore, Wetlands, Thousand Needles et cetera et cetera.

2.) What kind of RP do you want to see less?
Blood Elves acting Human RP. Belf Gang? Noooo. Also, singular-pointed RP. I don't really like milking RP of a single spot.

3.) Are you in higher favor of story-driven RP with lots of combat or more character-centered drama? Or story RP at all? If so, what kind?
Well, I'm not really precise on RP. I just get a tingle if I find it good or not.

Well, you are doing fine with the Love Exchange, though I wish more matches were made. Get around with funny derpzy fail date RP.

5.) Are you disturbed, upset, angry, apathetic, etc., about me being lore weak as a GM? I'm trying my best to improve lore weakness, I really am.
Well, to be honest, I'm not that lore precise myself. Though it always takes me about a month to make a character profile, which I've been doing inactively.

6.) Lastly, what are your expectations of me, in general, as a GM? Do you just want me to just be quiet and do my GM duties, do you want me to be the "fun police" where I focus less on stepping on people's toes and have bring more fun, etc.? Fun police! ... wat... Well, I find you alright, being fun and helping. Though non so far GM decisions have really impacted me, so that question isn't really to be precisely answered.

Even though we personally confide in each other over every little thing we do together, I might as well make a token post that puts all this shit on paper...

1.) What kind of RP do you want to see more of?
Most people here know what horn I toot by now. Human-lore RP, Blood Elf-lore RP, Dwarf RP, domestic Alliance RP, domestic Horde RP... yeah.

2.) What kind of RP do you want to see less?
Stanglethorn Vale neutral RP. I don't outright hate Booty Bay (especially not as much as some people here), but having it hog all the neutral RP is a pain. I know its to be expected because both OOC and IC it's a major crossroads for everyone, but still.

3.) Are you in higher favor of story-driven RP with lots of combat or more character-centered drama? Or story RP at all? If so, what kind?
Eh, both work and both have problems. With combat RP you have clusterwee! of rolls and emotes, in character-drama RPs you have people trying to derail things and everyone trying to be the main character.

That all said, I'm shifting towards character-drama RP lately, because lately I've been focusing on milking the drama for every one of my characters. I did it to Cristovao and Diwaata in the Draenei Pilgrimage, I plan to restart the attempt on Madugo and Du'guro, I'm DOING it on Hrodebert and Jami, and soon I'll be doing it to Aryeon and Urameil. Pshaw.

I really... don't care. I know you enjoy running TLE and all that jazz, but I honestly don't care. Matchmaking RP strikes me as close as you can get to the bubbly high school romance sort of story as you can get without actually having said bubbly high school involved. Furthermore, while I do love romantic RP, I feel there is altogether too much focus (and drama) on it, making other forms of dramatic RP suffer. When you run a matchmaking guild, everyone feels obligated to use it, just to try it out.

Funny that because I'm the more publicly romantic of the two of us, derp.

5.) Are you disturbed, upset, angry, apathetic, etc., about me being lore weak as a GM? I'm trying my best to improve lore weakness, I really am.
I don't much mind. I enjoy being your personal lore-monkey. I'd only suggest you brush up on your general racial lore for the races you play, but avoid the in-detail stuff unless you need it. At any rate, despite your weakness in OOC lore knowhow, you do good enough at portraying a race IC, even the ones you really know little about (like the Night elves).

Fun Police, please. We have enough GMs who are, in my opinion, far too srs bsns about maintaining every fine inch of detail of lore... which would be fine if Warcraft's lore was something serious and respectable like the Elder Scrolls, but its not. While there are guidelines we should follow... its still freakin' Warcraft. We need more GMs who are aware of this fact and are flexible because of it, as well as more GMs who are more open to ideas so long as they are not explicitly forbidden in lore (whereas most GMs are weary of anything not explicitly SUPPORTED by lore).

And that's about it from me.
Your stories will always remain...

Should've been cool people like me and Anski.

As for the questions though... I'd answer them, but I'm afraid I don't actually know you well enough to so! This must change.
