The Heavyfoot Task Force
#1
Around the main Horde outposts, several weathered scrolls can be found. In them, written with bold black Orcish runes, one can read the following:

"Throm'ka, peons of the Horde! You have been called unworthy, you have been treated as the lowliest of the low, but no more! I, Overseer Nogash Heavyfoot, have come to offer you more, to offer you better! For you, sturdy workers you are, keep the Horde up and running from behind the scenes. Indeed, while you do not rank as high as even the most incompetent of grunts, I know well the importance of your abilities. I cannot promise you lands or glory, but one thing I know: under my guidance, you will grow to become the sturdiest and the worthiest of the ones in your post! Come to me, and, who knows, you may be able to soar higher towards your destiny..."

Ever since the Horde war machine started to move, there were always those who kept it fed and in shape: peons. Considered unworthy little wretches by their peers for years, the Orcish victories are in big part thanks to them. While, in recent times, they have begun to be treated better, mostly thanks to Warchief Thrall's policies, they are still the ones who work day and night to provide resources and healthy buildings for the Horde. At least they have an holiday to call their own!

"The Heavyfoot Task Force" is one of the many branches of peons which serve the Horde. Lead by Overseer Nogrash Heavyfoot, their peons are, in his words "the single most sturdy and worthy among the lesser ones", in great part thanks to him, or so he claims. Aided by Nogash's foremen and grunts, they are ready to work!

Note: Other races are free to join, though, they will have to do so under the "free will basis", which will most likely detract from the usual peon sensation. However, that means they are treated slightly better than their peers and are free to leave the Task Force at any time.

Info
Ranks
To Sort - Those who have been hired OOCly but are yet to be recruited ICly.
Peon - Ye ol' lowly peon.
Expert Peon - They have been working as a peon for a while. These experts are treated slightly better than the regular Peons and may occasionally be assigned by a Foreman or the Overseer for more important tasks. If they possess the right behaviour and a hint of the right personality behind their required obedience, they may be promoted to Grunts or Foremen for the company, or be transfered to another sector of the Horde.
Grunt - What would be of this task force if there were no strong and skilled arms to protect the lowly workers? While these grunts' job is by no means the most exciting in Azeroth, it is not dangerous, and, better yet, they may poke some fun out of the peons, as long as the Overseer is not watching!
Foreman - Traditionally, they are grunts who are not required in battle by the Horde and have shown the right commanding presence. However, Expert Peons may also be promoted in order to fulfill this rank. They are the ones who make sure the peons are working. They pass most of their time yelling orders, but they may also beat the peons under their charge with their blackjacks if their underlings are lazying around or being disobedient.
Overseer - In two words: the boss. He is the one who, as the name hints, oversees the whole operation and makes sure things are working. It is also he who arranges work contracts for all of them. If required, the Overseer can fulfill the roles of the other ranks (including Grunt, as he is a trained and seasoned fighter). Yes, even the one of Peon, as there are times when they need to be taught, or require an extra arm to get the job ready in time - the Overseer should be able to have enough tact to know when to step the down the ladder. Currently, this position is occupied by Nogash Heavyfoot.

A note about ranks: If you wish your peon to progress in the ranks, you should let the Overseer know OOCly, as those require some build up to happen (except the promotion from Peon to Expert peon, which is mostly a matter of time and participation). Alternatively, shall you wish your character to remain a peon forever, you can let the Overseer know, too!

Events
We aim to include other types of events in the future (maybe even building something, if GMs will allow and help it), however, these will remain the most common:

Resource collecting - Nothing can be built or repaired if there are no materials. As such, peons are often required to go to gather resources, including, but no limited to: lumber, minerals and stone. Locations for this kind of task may vary, but more often than not it will be conducted in central/southern Kalimdor.
Transportation - Resources can be collected, but they also need to be transported - that, or someone is paying the Overseer well to move whatever they need to. Ideally, goods will be transported by caravans, conducted by the peons. However, if lacking in Kodo-power, the peons may have to carry them
Repairing - The Horde war machine needs to be kept in shape, and it befalls to the hardy peons to do so. With their respectable builder skills, they may have to repair whatever buildings are damaged.
Meetings - While work is a big part of a peon's life, they, as well as foremen, grunts and even the Overseer himself, also need to have some fun to keep their spirits high! While most meetings would be casual and arranged between the lower ranks during their free time, the Overseer may also organize small feasts for his subordinates if he so wishes (asking him is permitted!). Food and drink are not the best, but nothing beats a hearty friendly meeting outside the heat of work!

Some more ideas for the future, which I am throwing here for the sake of my terrible memory: adding requirements in materials to the buildings the peons are repairing or building (which will require some trial-and-error to get the right not-too-quick-not-too-boring ratio); peon stamina; item crafting (eg: the resource taken to the building site is lumber but wooden planks are required); a fix resource system; etc.

Outfits
There are no required uniforms; however, it is recommended to keep it within your rank's usual. Peons are probably better without a tabard, not because they cannot use it, but since it may be uncomfortable to work with it. Foremen and grunts, however, are encouraged to wear it. If you are unsure about what to use, I will leave you some guideline ideas here:

Spoiler:

Of course, these are just some suggestions. There are many, countless possibilities!

Recruitment
The interested are encouraged to contact me, ghaskan, on the forums, or Nogash, in-game, to arrange a recruitment.
All official members of the Task Force can recruit OOCly. However, only the Overseer, or someone else he orders to, can sort out the recruits.

WANTED!
To start the guild off smoothly, we would require at least one foreman and one grunt who existed before the branch was settled in-game. For that I would like to request a very, very small profile, in case there are more than one applicant, which you should sent to me, ghaskan, via PM. All I ask is:

Spoiler:
Quote:Name: The full name of your character (please include the in-game name here)
Rank: If you are applying to be a Foreman or a Grunt.
Gender: Self-explanatory.
Personality: Does not have to be very developed, a line or two should suffice, as long as you encompass the basics of your character's personality.
History: Like personality, it does not have to contain details as much as the basics of your character's history. I assume five lines would be a good guideline for this.

Allies
Even though the Guild is no battle force, allies are always welcome. They would mostly be regular customers, or pertaining to other sectors (namely military) where worthy peons can be dispatched to. Horde only, for obvious reasons.

Ally list empty (for the time being)

For those interested in joining, today and also tomorrow I'll try to conduct both OOC and IC recruitment starting at 11:30 AM, server time (or 7:30 PM GMT+0, in case I've done some mathematical mistake). I'm also online now, on Nogash, so if you want to be OOCly invited into the Guild, it's a good time! Sadly, I have to leave soon-ish to have extra classes, so IC recruitment will have to wait.

Good news everyone! While our first event will still take a little while to come (this weekend will be pretty full already), we are still well and recruiting. Better yet, now that my holidays started and I got a second account you should be able to see me on Nogash more often.
