"Hatred does not excuse foolish behavior." -Chapter 1

The dim light of the moon shined upon Ashenvale, the beauty of the vast forest coming to life even more so at night, especially in such a perfect time. Midnight, the time when the moon centers itself in the sky, giving the dark forest a faint glow as the Beastmaster Alduris traveled through the woods of Ashenvale. Along side the Kaldorei man walked his companion of the current time, a Nightsaber, rather large one at that. With a clear goal set in mind, the two marched along the forest without a word. Being as he was, Alduris could see quite well in the night, his saber sharing the same perk, being naturally gifted with a feline's eyes.

The two were headed in one direction, and one direction only. Towards the Horde encampment in Ashenvale. With both of his large hatchets in hand, Alduris and his companion marched on without a hint of fear. Despite their dead-set goals, the two came to a sudden halt as they heard the unmistakable sound of the Orcish language. Two of them, that much was clear. Alduris and his saber were quite far out from Astranaar, but not quite close to the Horde encampment. As the Kaldorei and his companion moved up to a small bunch of hills, overlooking the clearing the Orcish sounds came from, they noticed the enraging scene before them.

Two Orcs, average sized at best, weapons thrown aside casually, and a white wolf, ones native to Ashenvale. The wolf's legs were shackled quite visibly, and a large pack was forced onto his back by the two Orcs. The wolf protested with a cry of agony, the pack clearly being much more weight than he can carry, but the Orcs seemed not to care less about the animal's pain. They laughed, a mocking laughter as the animal was forced to the ground by a brutish kick from one of the Orcish men. Another cry of agony came from the wolf, and it did not go unnoticed. Alduris clenched his jaw and fists around the hilts of his large axes, and without hesitation, the man and his companion leaped off the hills to meet the Orcs face-to-face. Startled at first, the Orcs seemed to rush for their weapons, but they were not quick enough...

A bestial roar erupted from the large Kaldorei's mouth as he and his companion charged towards the pair, glares that could be described as pure hatred, and nothing short. The saber leaped up at one of the brutish men, clawing quite deeply into his back with his razor sharp claws. A scream of agony, this time from the Orc, was heard through the area, but that did not seem to stop any of the parties. Alduris, without any hesitation or second thoughts, brought one of his cleavers down onto the injured Orc's skull, hitting the mark and, with great force, piercing the bone. The same Orc fell onto the ground, a large gash at the top of his head, revealing his damaged brain and the broken skull. One down, one to go.

Despite the haste of the execution, the second Orc grabbed his large battle-axe and turned to face the two with his own glare of hatred. A click of the tongue came from Alduris, the saber reacting to it as if it was just given orders and charging forward. Without letting the saber move too far alone, the Kaldorei man ran along behind him, parrying the first swing of the Orc's battle-axe to ensure his companion's safety. With a loud grunt, the Orc prepare another swing, but was quickly intercepted by a sharp set of claws towards his abdomen, piercing the green flesh without much trouble and causing the brutish Orc to roar out in anger and pain. The sound of steel clashing against steel is heard as another swing is parried, this time far too close to be comfortable. The axe was aimed towards Alduris, and was blocked only inches away from the man's chest.

A good distraction is what the Kaldorei needed right now, and it was exactly what he got. The saber leaped onto the Orc's back, claws digging into the tough skin quite deeply, causing both men to stumble back a step or two, the Orc from the claws in his back, and Alduris from the relief on his muscles. The duo worked quickly, but not quickly enough this time, it seemed. The Orc, entering a quite visible state of blind rage, managed to grab the saber by the head and tear it off his back. The saber was thrown in a display of brute force against the hard floor, which seemed to enrage Alduris. Almost as angry as the Orc was, the Kaldorei man charged forward, and in a display of pure willpower, the saber muscled up to stand once more. The two charged at the enraged Orc from the front and the side, Alduris taking the attention of the brutish creature.

Another clash of steel resonated through the area as both the men's weapons met once more, this time, the Orc managed to overpower Alduris. The axe came down on the Kaldorei man's chest, leaving a deep gash in his skin, followed by a very bestial roar of pain and anger from the man. The saber, however, managed to gather his strength, despite his injuries, and leap up to jam his claws through the Orc's neck. The attack was successful, or so it seemed at first, but after a loud grunt, the Orc grabbed the saber by the head and hurled him towards a nearby tree. The animal crashed into the tree, his right set of legs taking most of the blow as a sickening crack is heard from that direction. A sacrifice, but a valuable one none-the-less.

Taking advantage of the angered and rather distracted Orc, Alduris rushed forward once more and without any remorse, sank his cleaver into the brutish creature's neck. The initial impact was enough to sink the blade half-way in, causing the Orc to gasp and flail for breath, but the Kaldorei was not satisfied, forcing the cleaved in further. After a loud grunt on Alduris' side and a final push, the cleaver found itself passing through the neck of the Orc, his head falling onto the ground shortly after, both parts gushing blood onto the forest floor. Dropping one of his weapons instantly after the Orc's torso fell, the Beastmaster rushed to push the large, heavy pack off the wolf's back and give the animal a reassuring nod. After making sure the wolf was well in health, Alduris ran towards his saber, which seemed to have fallen unconscious. After a brief inspection, he saw that two of the feline's legs were broken, but there were no other injuries.

Alduris took his time as he slashed off a strand of his leather kilt, straightened it out and wrapped it around one of the saber's broken legs tightly to hold it in its original position. The man repeated the process to the other leg, then heaved the saber onto his shoulder, carrying it back towards the dead Orcs. A quick search on both the corpses came up with a key, which Alduris used to unshackle the wolf. A brief 'conversation' between the Beastmaster and the wolf took place before the Kaldorei man heaved the now free animal onto his second shoulder. With a loud grunt, the man began to march off towards where he came. The gash on his chest was bleeding quite badly, but he knew he could make it back to safety before having to care for himself.

Despite the saber's and his own injuries, Alduris smiled as he marched along towards the village of Astranaar.
