Anyone know of a proxy method of connecting to WoW? I have at least one hour intervals between classes, the longest being three, and I would love to be able to hop on every so often. However, there's something with the school's network not allowing me on it.

Ah school. Where men are men, girls are girls, and actual fun is blocked.

I always used Ultrasurf for browsers.. Though I am not sure if it actually gets a program like WoW through. Never tried but I suppose it's worth a shot to see if it allows those connections to slide through the program as well.

Quote:Why Use Ultrasurf?
» Bypass firewalls
» Encrypt your activities
» Circumvent censors
» Mask your IP address
» No installation required
» Untraceable
» Fast page loads
» Easy to use

Meh, no deal. Doesn't seem to work the same for the WoW executable. x\

Then! This

Seems promising. However, I have never tried it and it's only a free trial version. I can not guarantee for anything, should your laptop "poof" by it, then I am truly sorry.

If you look at the "application" list it supports, it names WoW, WC3, MSN, etc. All programs that tend to get blocked by those nasty firewalls.

Quote:PingFu Iris, developed for these applications that use the TCP protocol, enables them to be tunneled with minimum latency from behind firewalls or to bypass proxy servers. It also minimizes packet loss, and eliminates all possible overheads in order to tunnel TCP efficiently.

Edit ; There's also This

HTTP tunneling, apparently by googling around some people use something like that to get around the firewall. I got no knowledge of it however, I just enjoy messing about to see what works and doesn't.

A lot of people also mention Yourfreedom with several guides Here and Here

But again, never tried.

Another small edit ; Reading through, I'd say "Your freedom" is your best bet.

Ha! Good to know that one, now if I ever run into the issue I can do it as well. :D

Firewall evasion ftw. Enjoy CotH on school, just don't blame me for dropping grades!
