Eroli's Introduction
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
Salutations, Conquest of the Horde!

It has been a few months since I have entered any sort of lengthy role-play but I must say I am excited at the prospect of joining this community. As an individual I can say that I have a deep seated love of role-play for entertainment purposes. I have been at it for nearly a decade now and have no intention of stopping any time soon. Lately however I have been unable to find a suitable circle of role-players, friends or whathaveyou to conduct RP with. I can get a little long winded with my posts. (I can crank out three full paragraphs with ease.) Lately I've been limiting myself to a single paragraph. Teaching myself that not every post needs to sort out every grimy detail. I look forward to immersing myself in this community and hope that I can contribute to an already wonderful environment in an effective and productive way.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
I am from the United States of America. My primary language is English.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
I became interested in Warcraft as a game when I first saw my elder brother playing Warcraft III on his PC when I was younger. I've been hooked ever since. I just recently departed the retail version of World of Warcraft but I was an avid player for close to six years.

What made you seek our server over others? (Or how did you find us?):
I found out about Conquest of the Horde through a close friend of mine. He recommended that I apply to the server due to the fact that I was searching for a new community to role-play with.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
A vast majority of genre's. From Ancient Times/Fantasy to Modern Day/Sci-Fi. I've done it all. I am quite content to play out simply fixing dinner over a cast-iron stove and serving it to guests to grand adventures of epic proportions.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
In the Warcraft Universe? I have an abiding love of the elven cultures. Especially the dynamic and rebellious Blood Elves. They are quite a conundrum. While steeped in thousands of years of history and tradition they aspire to overcome chains of the past while maintaining those traditions during a quest for independence. At the same time their personalities vary so vastly from elf to elf that they rival the diversity of Humanity as a whole.

What are your expectations of this server?:
I expect professionalism and constructive guidance. I have been reading through the website's forums and thus far those expectations have been met.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
While I agree with the vast majority of your rules and regulations the one I am most fond of is the need for humility. Characters can accomplish great things in the smallest of ways. It is a common theme that I apply to many of my characters.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
(Action huh? Well...you asked for it! Here's an interaction between two characters of mine. Both with glaringly different perspectives on Life.)

Solveliss held his hands lightly behind his back. One resting in the palm of the other, clasped in purposeful thought. His amber eyes surveyed the scene of death and decay around him with naught but pity and noble sorrow. The sun was rising in the East. The first rays of dawn piercing through the darkness that clung to the haze of the Ghostlands. Ghostlands. An apt name. For many years the old elf had pondered the meaning of it. Where once he cursed them and believed them to be a wretched place of madness and mayhem now he felt only remorse. The Scourge had turned this place into a mockery of what it truly represented. The quiet embrace of twilight. A curious time of day. Where neither day nor night was distinguishable from the other. The line between life and death. A Land of Ghosts. This was once where his people went to contemplate their deaths. Now that method was all but assured in the form it took. For death it seemed had turned hateful of those it was once charged to look after in the realms beyond the here and now.

Still maintaining his thoughtful posture, the ancient Sin'dorei paid as much attention to his surroundings as they were due. While he was a man of deep faith, he was also a man of vigilance and awareness. It would not do to be taken by surprise. His quiet footfalls seemed to echo in the stillness of the broken and dying forest. With every step flashes from ages long gone danced across the elf's reverie. He could see caravans of merchants making their way to the crossroads of Tranquillien. He could see the mystical spires of the many villages that dotted the realm. He could hear laughter. He could hear traders arguing over the price of fine goods. He could make out the careful march of soldiers patrolling the roads. Such life once filled this land that lingered between Life and Death. Now it seemed the scales had tipped in favor of the morose and decrepit corner of Death.

Solveliss came to a stop just before a broken villa on the way to the road leading to Tranquillien. The decaying fence that once must have been pristine did little to defend the perimeter of the estate. At the gateway was a small doll. Probably having belonged to a young girl who once played in the yard. The old elf padded up to the gate and studied the house. His white robes a stark contrast to the charred and blackened skeleton of the former home. Kneeling briefly he picked up the doll and dusted off some of the dirt. His face showed only purposeful thought. As he stood there, remembering, thinking on the days gone by and the days ahead a stillness took hold of the world around him. The shadows of the forest seemed to gather and manifest themselves into the shape of a humanoid form. Two blood red eyes blinked into existence before their harsh gaze settled on the peaceful old elf.

"Still collecting trinkets and pondering on memories of glory lost, I see." Solveliss did not look up. He didn't seem at all surprised at the appearance of the shadowy figure. He continued to study the doll in his hands. It was made of cloth. Stuffed with refined cotton with silk threads. It was fashioned to look like a miniature Dragonhawk.

"Still clinging to the shadows and preying on helpless old men, I see." There was an indignant snort.

"You hardly qualify as a helpless old man." The old elf smirked and looked up into the blood red eyes that peered at him from the shadows.

"There are those who believe otherwise." The elf nodded. Strands of his silver-white hair falling in front of his face. He brushed them aside tucking them behind an ear. "Xivarius." There was a low grumble and the eyes dipped as if the shadows were nodding.

"Solveliss." Silence passed between the two before the elf returned to studying the doll. The shadow-man broke the silence.

"This is a pointless errand and you know it. You're going to fail. Your people are far too decadent and lost in their own arrogance to walk that path again." Solveliss nodded.

"True. But I would not be a man of faith if I believed I couldn't somehow change that." The shadow-man barked a harsh laugh.

"You can't possibly be that big of a fool." Solveliss chuckled and beamed up at the bloodshot eyes that glared down at him.

"Until my dying day." Another low grumble permeated the area.

"What are you playing at, Priest?"

"It's called the Game of Life, Xivarius. You should try it some time. It does wonders for one's perspective on things. You could use something more "substantial" anyways." The shadows darkened.

"Very funny." Solveliss smiled.

"I thought you might like that one."

"It won't work."

"We shall see." Silence once again settled between the two. When the old elf looked up the shadows had dissipated and the morbid figure that lurked in them stood on full display. A garish abomination of flesh, bone, and sinew clinging to a decaying body. The menacing skeletal grin that graced the monstrosity's face was anything but warm and humorous. The creature's bleeding eyes studied the priest. They stood at the same height. The creature being little more than a withered husk of life clinging to existence through unnatural means. Solveliss didn't even flinch. This was the figure of his nightmares. A frequent visitor in recent times.

"It is only a matter of time, Solveliss. Only a matter of time before you all succumb." The rays of the dawn peaked through the trunks of the trees highlighting the horrific display before the elf. The creature stepped backward, closer to the darkness. A wall of sunlight now stood between the two.

"Today is a new day, Xivarius. With every dawn is born a chance to begin anew." The abominable creature chuckled.

"And with every dusk come the inevitability of your demise." Solveliss spoke a blessing over the doll then knelt and placed it back where he found it. He turned away from the creature and clasped his hands behind his back once more.

"The dawn has come, Xivarius."

"And so it is the dawn of the rise of madness."

Solveliss took to the old road again. His resolve rekindled, his determination. Darkness at his back he made his way to toward the Light.

He made his way toward home.

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:

Nope. You're all pretty thorough.

Hello Eroli! My name is Loxmardin, and it's my pleasure to welcome you to Conquest of the Horde!

... Fantastic introduction! Well done! And thank you so much for an enjoyable story and read overall. :)

If you haven't already, it couldn't hurt to double check the rules and policies on our very own Wiki-page. If you have any questions, feel free to PM a GM on the forums or search the FAQs, as well as the various guides and helpful topics you'll find about the forums.

Also be sure to /join Chat and /join Barrens once you enter the game for the first time! (On all your characters, preferrably). The former for general communication server-wide, and the second for random silliness!

That said, welcome again! Have fun, enjoy your stay, and merry RPing!

Love,
Loxmardin
