[RG] The Lambs of Hearthglen
#16
Quote:Argent Crusade Commanders Krilari Dawnsend, and Entari [Lastnamehere]

This is Annabelle Greene, your missing councilwoman, reporting in. I apologise for missing the meeting, but as you may have heard, I was very indisposed. Commander Dawnsend, I'm sure, has received clues as to those behind my absenteeism, starting with my reporting of Haydee Herzog. I have heard she is in Hearthglen's jail. This is wise.

The story of my experience is much longer. If a gnome by the name of Marti Seascholar is about, he may explain some of it. He was an ally to me during this time. He can be trusted.

I am currently recovering with Hrodebert Rivermouth at his ranch, and I plan to be in Hearthglen in the next few days. Feel free to send important word to me via letter.

I believe a false letter was sent to you by my captors, thus I print my seal here as proof of my idenity.

Light's wisdom,

Councilwoman Annabelle Greene

Quote:Dini,

This is Anni. I am free and recovering with a friend, Hrodebert Rivermouth. I have much to tell you, though I am unsure when we can meet.

The most important part: I found Aimee. I spoke with her, I did my best to protect her while I was captive. She saved me, I saved her. She is a garden trampled by the Glove, but I know the saplings of thought I planted are sprouting. My allies insisted we take her. I would not let them take her to Stormwind or Hearthglen, so thus she is held where I write this letter. I will tend to her as I can.

Have faith. I trust you will speak of this wisely to those you trust.

Have the schematics reached you? I prayed they would.

I owe you the biggest lemon pie for making you worry.

Anni

Quote:Dear Mrs. Dawnsend,

I am truly, absolutely, tremendously grateful for your efforts in providing me well-being and safety, and my joy and gratitude knows no bounds, nor do I possess words for my elation. Alas, I have something I must do before I return to Hearthglen to begin my community service and my duties as the town doctor.

It seems Annabelle has escaped, and her return is to be anticipated. She has, however, my daughter in custody, and I wish to see her. I will be heading there before I make my trek to Hearthglen, where I will anticipation testimony against her mother.

Please keep update me in regards to Haydee Herzog. I feel my fear has escaped me and I will do all I can to see justice served.

-Dr. Geraldino Galleani.

Quote:Dear Anni,

I am beyond relieved and ecstatic that you are alive and safe. I am sorry Mr. Rivermouth had to go through what you did. I am honestly surprised you and Aimee saved each other, though. Perhaps there is, indeed, good within her that her mother failed to destroy. I am proud of you and my daughter, and my joy is bountiful in that you are all safe.

I do, indeed, have the schematics. I am rather surprised (once again) that Aimee somehow remembered the coding pattern. I have them with me, though I'm afraid I do not have the others I stole prior to leaving the Red Glove. They're in Stormwind right now, and I'll bet Paolo-Gianni is still trying to break through my home. They are well-hidden, however. I still have the rattle key, thankfully, so I am not worried about him finding them.

I hope to meet you, Mr. Rivermouth, and Aimee soon. I would like to request the location so I can meet you all.

Your close and beloved friend,

Dini

Hurriedly written last minute before sending:

Quote:[color=#6B8E23]P.S., I don't mind the pie at all, but if you insist on making some, I'd like extra lemon slices on the side, please. Thank you.

Two letters return in response to Annabelle's letter to Hearthglen.

Argent Missive Wrote:Councilwoman Greene,

It is a great relief to hear of your impending return. I have already heard word involving your abductors, and we have continued to detain Herzog in the prison until further trial and testimony may be brought forth. As well I have received some information regarding the others you have sent along to the city—they will be well guarded here, and we will provide them with amnesty for any allegations levied against them elsewhere.
I would advise you to sit this coming meeting of the council out—given the circumstances I do believe you are well enough excused of your duties until you have had time to rest from your ordeals. Your words against Herzog would be most valued though, as would any word concerning this organization she is under the service of.

You will also be pleased to know that your journey will be markedly safer, coming into town. We have successfully dispatched two of the Scourge’s commanders, so do not worry on our part concerning your absence. There is indeed an ongoing issue concerning a collection of cultists which have since been imprisoned and sent to trial—but as of late things seem to be gradually settling down.

A pleasure to have you back, at any rate. We look forward to your return.

~Crusade Commander Entari
--Hearthglen High Command

Another letter is tied along to the stately Argent missive-- it seems to be a page torn from a hymnal, with small, quickly jotted text in black ink upon it.

A Plain Letter Wrote:Ms. Greene,

First of all, my greatest apologies for the interception of your letter. I do wish you to know that I mean no ill intent; in fact I am quite relieved to hear of your impending return. I only wish to caution you—Things are not as calm as they may seem in the city of Hearthglen.

I have attempted to the best of my efforts to dissuade the other members of the council from convening this Monday. Why, I cannot say. All shall know in time. I would like to ask of you that, should you arrive before the meeting, you gather the council and any other civilians you may find and move them to the tavern. Keep them there, and prepare yourselves. This is all I can tell you; though with the Light’s providence, perhaps it is all you will need. Please, heed this warning.

I wish you and the others the best. Remain vigilant, and speak nothing of this letter. Time is short or I would write more. Fate is uncertain, or I would scribe my name below. Until then, simply know me as what I have come to consider you--

~A Friend

A Rat Leader Wrote:To the Mongoose. This is Rat Leader Kreene.

We arrive at the Mithril Mines SW5 in Badlands, and it turns out it's been destroyed. There are bodies everywhere, already being picked by buzzards. Including Kogath Skullstomper. It seems these bodies are not salvageable, though perhaps they could be of use to us as ghouls.

There are no signs of Annabelle Greene, nor are there of Stefano Ricci or Faelipo Paleleaf. The new Lamb we got, Hrodebert Rivermouth, seems to have gone missing.

Above all, Aimee is missing. We do not know where she is.

We await for your next orders.

The Mongoose Wrote:To the Red Glove:

Search for the Raccoon.

Send for agents to gather information regarding the Coyote's incarceration. Report back to us immediately.

Left behind at a bed in an empty home in Southshore. It seems to have been unoccupied for a very, very long time.

The Peacock Wrote:Allegra.

You have not provided us the supplies or information we demanded. You are behind in your fulfillment of the ransom. We originally gave you two weeks. That extended to two months. Now it's been almost a year.

We have your sons. We still have your husband. He has died once, and he just died again. I have resurrected him, and now he may be denied a chance to a peaceful afterlife should he die a third time, which we can fulfill at any time.

Find the Serpent and turn him in, or your husband and children will die. Our assassins have killed children before. You do not want to know what we do with the bodies.

The letter is crudely written, with the lettering starting off neat, but towards the middle begins to devolve into furious, frustrated strokes.

A Fly Wrote:Ta the Peehen.

I have managed ta kil the nome, Martee Seeskolar. With the help of Fly Milo. We were havin a shootin contest. Milo put on her gloves and tried ta kil Martee. Martee started runnin. I shot him. We interogayted Martee. We lurned that Dr. Galleani has the skematiks. Milo kiled him. We made it look like a sayter got hold of Martee by havin my bear, Neydra, maul him. I piked up the nome and we ran to Dalaran. We went to Morfa, the nome's brother he was visiting. Morfa took Martee to an Alliance temple.

Also, the Coyote was set on trial. She pleeded No Contest to charges of unawthurized espeeonaj. The Argents are pending a verdikt on affilyashuns with a crime orgunizashun.

The Toad Wrote:Dear Annabelle,

I'm all right. I was thrown into The Kennel for over a week as punishment for assisting in the ruckus back at the Arathi Complex. I was actually relieved from something far more severe thanks to Aimee: she pleaded that the reason I did what I did was because I anticipated your escape, and my smoke bomb was meant for you, not the Glove. Still, I was thrown there for being such a f[wee!]-up.

I'm being assigned to hunt you down as a means to "redeem" myself for the Glove. I'm not sure what to do from here, but I can give you a fair warning.

I'm afraid I have to be the bearer of bad news of another kind. We just got reports that Marti Seascholar was killed in Crystalsong Forest by two of our low-ranking members ("Flies"). I'm not sure why he left the safety of Hearthglen, but I'm going to guess it's to see his brother, whom we had been watching for some time. I suppose now the brother, without holding Marti hostage, is being let go now. But I am so sorry to inform you that Marti has passed.

No, I don't know what happened to Vitti and Porzia Vitalforge. They may have been reassigned.

Dr. Dino is still being hunted down. We now know he's in Hearthglen wherein he's being given amnesty for his past crimes as long as he provides himself as an Argent doctor. First of all, I'm rather curious as to how the hell a demon-affiliated kidnapper became an Argent doctor. Secondly, I'd like to know if he has the schematics Marti was supposed to have (when he was killed, he had none of them). Because the Doctor is being hunted still, I would recommend something be done with those schematics. I know his mother made them, and he probably has fond memories of his mother, but those schematics has got to go.

If you'd like to meet sometimes, we can surely arrange--don't worry, I won't turn you in. You can count on me for helping bring down the Glove. I'm tired of working for them, but I am not quite ready to call myself a defector just yet. I still have things to do if I want to find Velio.

Light bless you.

Quote:My friend, Arnaldo,

I was so worried about you. I heard about The Kennel from Dino. Thank you so much for your help, you truly are brave. Aimee helped you? I am not surprised, for she had my life spared as well. She isn't as bad as she puts on.

Hunt me down? I am not surprised there either, and I forgive you this task. I am ready to defend myself.

I knew something was wrong when Marti left and did not return. He left because he felt cooped up. Understandable, I suppose, after so long imprisoned by the Glove. I believe he did mention going to see his brother. I warned him, but I could not very well lock him up. I shall pray for him and his family. Does his brother know of the Glove?

I understand about the Vitalforges. They are in my prayers as well. I heard nothing of them at the Badlands mine.

I know Dino is being hunted, and yes, he has rendered himself amnesty due to the work of Commander Dawnsend's wife. As far as the demon stuff? Not his own will, not totally. He had little choice, and he wishes to see Sangreala ended more than anyone. But, I cannot elaborate more. I will speak to him of the schematics. I believe he knows he is still hunted as well, but he wishes not to live in paranoia with this opportunity.

Dino has been a good friend of mine for a while now. A few months. I learned all he had to say about the Glove through him. A requirement for his amnesty was his testifying against Haydee Herzog in Hearthglen. I testified as well, though I do not think she will be executed. Execution or not, this is a heavy blow to the Glove.

I would very much like to see you again, and I trust you. And, I understand your hesitancy to leave. It will come in time. May I tell Dino you wish to help? If anyone can aid you, he can.

Light's courage,

Anna

The Toad Wrote:Dear Annabelle

His brother doesn't know of the Glove, no--or at least he shouldn't. Our men never approached him directly, but we do take pictures of him to ensure Marti's submission. None of that matters now. If you do wish to seek him out, his name is Morfa Skyscholar, also a mage, but hardly a techno-caster like his brother was (thus why we only captured one brother out of two). I think Marti also has a wife somewhere, but she hasn't been seen since the Third War.

I will try to find out what happened to the Vitalforges. I did ask around--they were last assigned for labor at Un'Goro Crater. No additional details were given to me.

I managed to snag a list of missions the Glove hopes to issue out. Here is what they are:

Spoiler:
[Missions list for laziness]

No dates on when these missions are expected to be fulfilled are provided, but if I learn anything else, I'll give you a heads up. I was torn when I heard Marti was killed, and I wish not for something like this to happen again.

I would like Dr. Dino to know that I have provided myself as a counterspy to the Glove, if only so that he wouldn't try to kill me upon meeting him.

Light's blessings,

--Arnaldo Gallo

P.S., Call me "Arnie".

The writing in this letter seems hurried, as if the writer was relieved to be required to write so little.

Hearthglen Report 1 of 2

Outside of the Town Hall (overheard) a Man clad in purple armor, likely some Light-affiliation, spoke of formally requesting the Hearthglen Council that the Cult of the Forgotten Shadow be denied access to establish a church in Hearthglen. Despite this, the measure, the main focus of the meeting, passed. The man enjoys Bacon.

Furthermore, the man has collateral. His mother resides in an unspecified "Mage Tower". The man was also accompanied by an unknown Forsaken female that bore "important information" for the man's collateral. The woman was dressed in black robes with blue trimming. Her hair is short and black. Her mouth was covered by a black mask. No other distinguishing features.

His open, public discussion regarding the Cult of the Forgotten Shadow drew initial interest for further investigation.

The man's name, age, and occupation remain unknown. He is a white male with long, black hair drawn back in a ponytail. Man was also seen speaking to a Blood Elf Female near the location of the recent assassination attempt on Councilwoman Annabella Greene. Long, white hair. Pale skin, clad in black and green robes. Wore a black mask covering her mouth. Their discussion regarded the Cult of the Forgotten Shadow.

The Violet Man confirmed that Councilwoman Annabella Greene voted in favor of the measure to allow the Cult of the Forgotten Shadow into Hearthglen.

Update: Following the capture of Annabella Greene's foiled "assassin(s)", she referred to the man as "Clovis".

The Goat Wrote:
Hearthglen Report 2 of 2

An unknown person made an assassination attempt on Lamb of Note, Hearthglen Politican Annabella Greene. Several Forsaken and Argent Guards were seen running into the mine behind the Councilwoman's house.

The Councilwoman appears unharmed.

There is some information that suggests there may be more than one assassin involved. One assassin has been confirmed as a woman by "The Violet Man".

Update: One assassin, a woman, was a Blood Elf dressed in black, hooded. She has is confirmed to be in Argent Custody. Noted as shouting, "Perhaps it never occured to you that Annabella Greene's death is for a purpose?"

Annabella Greene confirmed two pursuers of the assassin(s) as Sir Richter and Ordin (a forsaken male) as having charged into the mine after the town guard.

Blood Elf female assassin also remarked:

"Have you never heard of Sangreala Semurian, Crusaders?"

"What if I were to claim Annabella Greene were behind one of the greatest evils to every plague the land?"

A letter was received by the Red Glove, addressed to its highest ranking members, and even the Tamer himself. How it found its way to them is a mystery, but it reads as follows...

Quote:Your circus has grown quite large in the past decade, it seems.

Grown a might too big, honestly.

I think it's time to start culling your herd of animals.

I started with your Bear, but even when hibernating, he is crafty.

But I'll poach him in good time. He can't hide in his cave forever.

And then I'm coming for the rest of you.

You will regret all you've done. You will beg for mercy that you know will not be granted. I know you will, because you know me.

Ready yourselves for Hell and worse.

Much, much worse.

The Wolverine is on the hunt now.
Your stories will always remain...

Barregis Jones smiles as he folds up his letter and slides it into an envelope.

"Argel!" He cried out, and looked around his office in Stormwind. A man in a rather well-kept suit and a balding white head entered and bowed to Jones.

"You called, sir?" Argel said with a simple tone.

"Make sure this letter gets to the Tamer. It's time we move our plans into action." Jones said, sliding the closed envelope towards his servant. "If you get captured, you know what to do, Argel... Please don't get captured..." He frowned for a moment, then smirked. "I'd hate to have to hire another servant in the last three months." Jones said in a joking tone.

Argel smirked along with him, and bowed. "I will make sure it gets to the Red Glove, sir." He reached forward and grabbed the envelope, and slid it into his suit. "Will that be all, sir?"

Jones leaned forward and supported his head on the table by his palms. "Yes, that will be all, Argel... Good luck."

"Of course, sir." Argel said before departing.

Jones closed his eyes, sighing. "So this is how you redeem yourself, Barregis Jones? After all those kills, all those innocent men and women... All those contracts throughout your life, and you're using a war of subtlety for your redemption..." Jones lowered his head, and pounded a fist against his desk. "Let's hope I'm right in guessing the Argents won't hunt me down for my help. Light be with Jones and his men, I guess."

Quote:To Whom It May Concern,

Whether this be the Tamer, or some fancy subordinate made to check his - or her - letters, I'd like you to know that the Red Glove has a new problem. The man holding this letter is of no interest to me, and he saw nothing to dictate him as part of my chain of information, so I'd advise you to not hurt him unless you want me to plan for shooting three bullets in your head instead of two.

All that you'll know is that my name is Bane. I can realize you see this as a disguise name, as professional assassin to professional assassin. I call myself Bane in this struggle because that is what I am - I am your Bane. I -will- take you and the Glove down, and I will see each and every one of you burn for your crimes, some day. Whether that day be in a week, in a month, or hell, in a decade.

I am no righteous paladin. Hell, I'm not even a light-friendly man. But I am something that we both can relate to. I am an assassin, trained to be a killer, and I swear to you, I will become a very, very large pain in your ass someday. You and your Glove have caused enough problems for my people, and the rest of the world. Hell, you give assassins an even worse name than we already have.

I hope you enjoy your life now knowing that you actually have a competent enemy. Good day, then.

From assassin to assassin, I say 'good luck surviving'.

Sincerely,
Bane

The Coyote Wrote:This is the Coyote.

Some days ago, a frost wyrm came to attack the city, and it was overrun by the cultists I had the delight to share cells with. I was able to escape, but I remained on the downlow until things have settled. I've travelled a long way, on foot, to Hillsbrad, thus my long time to mail back.

I am exhausted. I request a mage to pick me up in Southshore, where I am hiding.

After a long talk between Dino and Arnaldo meeting in Hearthglen, a letter is passed onto the Toad to be given to the Glove...

Anonymous Wrote:To Rosaline Crotti,

There is someone of great interest I think you'd like to meet. I do not know if she has mail available to her, but you can send one of your scouts to contact with her. She goes under the alias of simply 'S'.

Send a scout to Caer Darrow, and from there he or she will be redirected to S.

The Tamer Wrote:To the Red Glove,

I have been sent two letters with aims to threaten me. To threaten us.

Let it be known that I will not let them near us. We must take the initiative.

I want the Wolverine dead or alive.

Seek out information on this Bane and see if he can be captured.

Begin transferring our new slaves to the Un'goro Base. I want testing to be done soon.

The Mongoose Wrote:To the Red Glove,

We must start lowering our number of enemies before they begin increasing in number. We just visited The Bear in Stormwind. He is recovering now, and he has set up wanted posters on Dr. Henri. However, we still have others to take down.

There is Annabelle Greene. We suspect she is rallying support in bringing forth our fall. Let's see if we can get her ruined if not killed or recaptured.

Meanwhile, we need more laborers to help us with the Un'goro project. All Rat, Fly, and Spider Leaders of the Stranglethorn region gather your subordinates and meet us and the Peacock and Peahen West of Stranglethorn. Provided is a map of our meeting point.

We will discuss our next plans in person.
