Drakes Casualties: Nearly cut the Drakes in half. Mirran is pissed.

Report Summary:

The Drakes and Mercenaries arrived at the destination via boats and parachuting, and orders were given. The ruins were approached as the Drakes charged in from the east to give a distraction for the Mercs. Mortars were fired, and the Mercs moved in through the ruins, fighting the Sandfury trolls back group by group. They eventually encountered what survived of the Crimson Company Expedition Miners... Barely any of them were still standing, and those who were ended up getting shot in the crossfire. After several small fights, the mercs reached the utter warzone - the Sandfury forces against the Drakes. They moved around the battle and encountered the head of the local populace - a Witch Doctor, his Dire Troll brother, and an army of lackeys. After a tough fight, the army of lackeys laid dead and all that remained were the Witch Doctor and the Dire Troll. A very difficult assault began against the Dire Troll, but he eventually was slain. Mirran West opened up the nozzle of a flamethrower on the Witch Doctor and then they grieved for their fallen. Twelve dead, and most of the expedition team fallen. Crimson Company received a heavy message to check for hostile indigenous next time they go to a ruin, and the Drakes leave pissed at the ignorance. The Mercs were paid, and so the Drakes prepare for the next job that Crimson Company can come up for them.

Outcome of Mission: Success!

Operation: Sandland



Briefing:

Crimson Company wants Black's Drakes to move south to help with some faraway expeditionary teams. Problem is, the only way south is to blow a hole straight through the middle of the Dunemaul Compound, which means a fierce battle for the Drakes. They're packing big, and the only way they can even hope to do this is to fight their way through the storm and hold out until their supplies can move around and until the promised reinforcements arrive.

Posters are put up in all Alliance and neutral cities, and even one on the message board of Hearthglen.

A lot of people have died to wars and to diseases. And a lot of people are still fighting to honor their memory and their legacy. But some of these people are a bit too simple to fight. Too important to be dragged into long wars.

That's why they call us. Mercenaries. Stone cold and hard soldiers who are glad to blow a few desert ogres sky high for a sack of coins. And that's what it is this time. Big old brutes like to hold a little sand in the desert, and we need your help to blow a hole right through them, and we've got some pretty hefty rewards waiting around for you.

Answer the Call

Seek out the Commander of Black's Drakes, Mirran West, for information regarding the cause or mission.

Operation: Sandland will be executed on Sunday, July 8th, 2012 at 5:00 PM Server Time. The event will be focused around holding off against waves of enemies and objective taking, in which the reward will be raised by a little bit per every secondary objective completed. I hope to see some people there.

Mission Debreefing Repourt

Mission: We wun.

Casualties: Thought Joe an Fred wurnt gon to make it. Fed them beer wen tha medic was away to help.

MVP: Linnary tha elf. Also Roy.

Nearly blowed off my legs: Krek tha orc. Wish I had thot of putting dog biskits in his pouch, but some one els did furst.

Comments: Still finding sand in my hair. Hate the desurt. Recomend relocashun.

[Mirran finds this crumpled up note and for a moment, his brows furrows. What in the... He quickly looks to write an actual report.]

Operation: Sandland was a success!

Crimson Company Second Platoon Casualties: 8/40 are still alive (Yes; Fred, Joe, and the Captain are among the survivors)

Black's Drakes Casualties: 23/30 are still alive

Overall Reward: Coins added up to 1 gold piece per head

Report Summary:

The Second Platoon was sent early to fortify a position in the center of the compound, and due to the Crimson Company sending them in without the Drakes, this was when they suffered the most casualties. After thirty minutes of holding the line, Mirran West finally led the Drakes and the Mercenaries to the barricades. For over an hour the combined defenders barely held back the Dunemaul forces of the compound, waiting eagerly for reinforcements to arrive. When the last wave was heading in and all seemed lost for the broken barricades, a strange new participant entered the battle. The ground rumbled and Silithid insects burst from the sands, quickly swarming over the ogres, leaving the barricades alone for the time being. However, a deeper rumble brought out a Hivelord, who did seek to attack the barricades. In a pre-emptive strike, the mercenaries charged out and slew the Hivelord in a very challenging assault. They were called back to the barricades, and when all seemed lost again with the Silithid turning towards the barricades, the deep rumble of the reinforcement horn came across the compound; a fresh cadre of Lionhearted Knights charged over the Silithid swarms, and in a decisive battle, the day was won. The Mercenaries were congratulated for their efforts, and given reward when they returned to Gadgetzan.

Outcome of Mission: Success!

No Secondary Objectives, no possible effects, sadly!

Hope to see more people at the next Black's Drakes mission, and possibly some more regulars (hint hint, Roy and Lin). I would also like to thank all of the participants for bearing with me while I frantically called for GM aid, and I'd like to thank the GMs who came to my frantic calls. Operation: Provoked Vengeance



Briefing:

With issues concerning transportation and the positioning of Crimson Company expedition crews over, the Drakes are being called back to the mainland; a large ruin with some Dunemaul ogres crawling around here and there is their next target for expeditionary movements. Luckily, they didn't make the mistake of Operation: Roomservice by sending their expedition crew -before- investigating the ruins. It's under the knowledge of the Drakes that Crimson Company Second Platoon will be accompanying them in this op. Objective is simple; go in, kill or kick out the ogre population in the ruins, and get out.

A poster is put up on Alliance tavern boards and neutral bar boards;

Gold. Glory. Girls. Three words that all mercenaries can get along over, as far as any can tell. And there's plenty of all three of those for anyone that helps the mercenary corps of Black's Drakes on their latest mission, with emphasis on the coin.
